First I would like to say the place was super super clean and the staff was amazing. This review is just for the food. We were very disappointed in the food. I ordered lemon chicken with pork fried rice. The portion size was good. The chicken was quality. It was smothered in a very thick, slimmy flavorless sweet sauce. The pork rice had no flavor at all and the pork was mostly chunks of fat. My husband said it tasted like carnival food and not the good kind. My hubby had the sweet and spicy calamari. Again it was covered in some kind of thick, slimmy, food coloring, concoction. It did have tons of calamari but had no spice at all just sweet and bland. My hubby also had the shrimp dumplings I could smell fish funk before she even set them on the table. He was very disappointed no flavor at all. I wish I would have eaten somewhere else. Thats $30.00 I wish I could have back...

I go there on a regular basis and its wonderful. Food is fresh and veggies crisp, tasty dishes. Service is friendly and fast. To tell you the truth, I never really paid attention to the decor because I was always too hungry to care. Rice plates cant be beat. They go for around $5; includes main dish, rice, fried won tons and soup. Their hot and sour soup is unique too. I was a traditional hot and sour soup lover so I was off put by the idea of their tomato based version but after the first time having it, I cant stop thinking about it. Highly recommend The Mayflower!

This is the worst food ever - eggflower soup is not eggflower - no egg no peas - it has tofu with waterchestnuts and taste like hot n soup, which is my least favorite. Portion are so small and prices are over the top. Same order at Uncle Kwoks in Aptos would be $38.00 not $45.00. Chicken salad had two pieces of chicken - crispy potstickers were gummy and gross. My dog would not even eat it.

Lovely service and the food is excellent! This place definitely has some of the best Chinese food in the Santa Cruz/Capitola area. The veggies are always crisp and fresh and the food isnt oily at all, like some Chinese food can be.

We ordered food to go and it was some of the best chinese food weve had in Santa Cruz. Everything was super flavorful and not greasy- the walnut prawns were a huge hit! This may be our new go to chinese restaurant.
