My friends decided to come here for dinner since it was close to my work and I end the latest of all of us. They all got to the restaurant before me, which means I did not have to wait long after I got there for our group to be seated. Parking is pretty easy since there is garage parking available in the back. Street parking is always an option as well. Im not sure how bad the wait for dinner here normally but I dont think my friends came THAT much earlier than me... The venue is pretty large and they have a lot of tables, but they are very popular so I would always anticipate at least a little bit of a wait time when coming here. For food, we ordered the following: -- Walnut Shrimp (with walnuts served on the side) -- Garlic Snow Pea Tips -- Filet Mignon Cubes -- Fried Tofu with Shitaki Mushrooms -- Hosue Special Hot Pot Rice Everything is pretty much comfort food and everyone enjoyed the meal. Im probably the pickiest eater and I did not care for the pea tips or the fried tofu dish, but I also dont like pea tips or mushrooms so I would have never ordered these dishes on my own (we shared everything family style). The rice was pretty good though and the filet mignon was not bad. My favourite dish was the walnut shrimp--that sauce plus the shrimp is so good! Thank goodness they can just take the walnuts out so I can eat it :) Since they were busy, service was slow and we had to actively try to flag down a server a couple of times. But apart from that we had an enjoyable meal with good friends and conversation. I personally would try not to come here without a Chinese person, however, because it seems like the staffs English is quite limited... so good thing one person in our group is Chinese! Their menu is pretty extensive so I would like to come back and try more items... as long as I have a Chinese person with me ;) Really more like 3.5 stars than 4 but Ill round up since I did really like that walnut shrimp...

This a unique and wonderful restaurant to dine at. I would really want to rate this restaurant a 5, but due to the recent remodel of the place and the upkeep, it went down to a 4 star. The service used to be really top-notch until the expansion and remodel of the place. The new expansion of the place has gone haywire, the new restroom is dirtier and the upkeep of it .. well they need to upkeep both restrooms a bit better. the floor is messier on the new portion of the restaurant. I just feel they shouldve just kept the restaurant as is. The new furniture is horrible.. That is why this review is a 4/5. But as for food, its wonderful. This is the only place i know that will refill your boba drink, but of course they will ask.. "refill?" of-course i want a refill.. yumm!!!! now the food is just the best. I come here for there rice clay pot with different ingredients.. they are famous for them.. there hasnt been any other restaurants that can compare to their hot clay pot with rice. This is what we call in cantonese.. "Bo Jai Fahn". Especially when u eat everything from it, u eat the crust from it. DAMN! thats the best thing on earth!!! I have tried the other dishes and its well worth the price. the best part of this place, its has a menu for western (american) food choices, and chinese food choices.. So theres lots of variety to choose from!

This is by far one of my favorite homestyle chinese food places in Socal! The food comes out quick and is mighty savory. Best of all, did I mention that its inexpensive and wont hurt your wallet? This is what you SHOULD order when you come here: 1) honey walnut shrimp: the honey walnut shrimp here is LEGIT. Im not gonna lie, I eat a lot of honey walnut shrimp, and this is one of best honey walnut shrimp dishes that I have ever had. 2) XO sauce long string beans: crunchy and savory...overall a great texture 3) sweet garlic ribs: this go really really well with white rice...sweet and savory 4) salted fish, salted egg, and pork patty clay pot rice: a little on the salty side, but overall very delicious If you order the above 4 dishes, you will leave very very full and happy! :)

Once you ordered the food. Either dine in or to go. After 25 min if you still dont see your food ready... They could already forgot your order. Make sure you have to ask them again or they will let you seat there and wait forever without checking or asking you again... We even came to the register to ask the guy Who wearing the Nice Shirt with the tie on probably the Manager there to let him know we already ordered the food for like half an hour ago... All he responded to us just said "Ok" then... Nothing happens next until we had to ask another waiter. Then this waiter was ice enough to say "Sorry... sorry. I will check now!" Then another 15 min our food were Finally Ready.

I thought this place was okay. I did like the rib eye with mushroom was really good though. Its just your typical Chinese place with fried rice, fried noodles, veggies, meat dishes. Im kinda glad I didnt have to pay. Theres tons of food on the menu but I usually stick with the basics since thats what Im used to. I dont get too adventurous when I eat Chinese food because I basically have that every day. The price is moderate and you do get a good amount of food. It gets pretty busy but I usually dig the small hole in the wall places.

Shredded chicken topped with MSG, yummy!!! Really! Seafood soup!!!! Yummyyyy. Sweet and sour Fish Filet!!!!! Super Yummyyyy!!! Bunch of other yummy stuff too, like the seafood bowl thing, string beans, etc. For the most part, you cant go wrong here. This was the original Tasty Garden and since they have opened at least 2 others. This original location even bought out the hair salon next door to expand. I always leave this place wishing I hadnt eaten as much as I did.

As advertised in their name, the food here is very tasty. Our favorite is the stir fried green beans and the honey walnut shrimp. The green beans are always fresh, crunchy, and well seasoned. The honey walnut shrimp are plump and coated with a thin crispy batter. They are coated with just enough mayonnaise sauce to complement the shrimp without being overpowering. I only knock off a star because the portions seem small for the price (especially for lunchtime).

If you want authentic (and yummy) Chinese food, go to Tasty Garden. They serve traditional, home-cooked style Chinese dishes that would satisfy any palette - Chinese or non-Chinese. Oftentimes, youll see long lines during lunch on weekends. It only proves that they are good at what they do. Parking is available in the back lot, which can get pretty packed. Otherwise, ample free street parking is available.

Food is excellent, very authentic yet not too authentic that it would scare away people who arent used to this type of food. The service is ok expected from this type of establishment, the atmosphere is busy but not too rushed. Great bang for buck especially if youre in a large group. Definitely have taken people here and to the new one on atlantic blvd.
