Roaches. Twice. My friends and I loved to visit this place all the time because the food is really delicious. A few months ago while we were eating we noticed a roach crawling along the wall. Gross, but it could have been worse. We tell the owner and he takes care of it and apologizes. Fast forward 3 months later. A dead roach is found INSIDE of the soy sauce container (containers that this restaurant refills themselves.) My friend had used some of the sauce and ended up throwing up outside the restaurant. This place has a bad roach problem and I would not recommend it, even if the food tastes good. tl;dr 2 roaches found, one found inside of a 3/4 full soy sauce container. Who knows how many people had used it prior to discovery. Dont eat here.

Best. Pho. Ever. I have eaten all kinds of Pho at many places in many states. While I have never been to Viet Nam to try it there, I might just as well have when I had the Pho at Khai Hoan. The broth was simply amazing. Rich, layered aromas, perfect spices, depth of flavor, ample noodles, and fresh crisp greens, sprouts, and peppers to add in. The various meats were fresh, perfectly prepared, and delicious. I ordered the #2, which is a smaller version of the #1, and now wish I had ordered the #1, because it was really that good. If you want seriously good Pho, then this is where you want to get it. Look sharp, though, because it is on the corner of a small strip mall and easy to miss while navigating traffic on the busy Apache Blvd.

I grew up NorCal where GREAT Vietnamese food is rampant and where I ate it 3-4 times weekly. I found Khai Hoan when I first moved here 13 years ago and havent stopped coming. Family owned and operated, it looks, feels, smells and tastes like the THE BEST VIETNAMESE food in Arizona. The food has never faltered in taste or experience and I have never had a bad meal or service experience... in 13 years, now thats saying something. Ive eaten at other Vietnamese places with extraordinarily disappointing meals both in taste and service. YOU WILL **NOT** BE DISAPPOINTED!

Been here a couple times. The meat is really good quality. But the biggest thing that stood out was a server. A young guy with a blue hat. He gave the best customer service!! He was extremely patient and kind. We took my grandma along and she needed to go to the bathroom so she had to wait at the table. He checked to let my grandma know that the restroom was available. I know it may sound silly to leave a review about something like this but its not always about the food but sometimes the experience.

Most reviews you read are written by an American who hasnt really tasted great Vietnamese food so here is a review from a Vietnamese perspective. This is a great, cozy restaurant with traditional Vietnamese dishes. I have traveled extensively and have tried a number of restaurants in Phoenix/Tempe/Scottsdale and by far, this is my favorite Vietnamese Restaurant in AZ. The price is very reasonable and the pho is seasoned just right. This place is 10x better than Anise in Chandler!

In my opinion, this is the best place Vietnamese restaurant where you can get pho. The broth is incredibly flavorful, full of clove and deep, meat flavors. Their menu has a great variety of Vietnamese and Chinese dishes and their iced coffee with condensed milk has an energetic kick. This place can get packed during dinner hours, and there arent very many seats available. Get here early if you plan on having dinner here!

Very traditional feeling (and tiny) vietnamese restaurant. Expect a wait or to share a table with others, which is great! Some of the best spring rolls I have ever had with perfect peanut sauce. I had the pho with several types of meat and was very pleased. The broth is very beefy, which is ok if thats the style you like, I prefer a little more anise, but the quality was top notch and the service fast.

Awesome place! The food is amazing, like the service. The menu is extensive. I love the rice crepes (they take about 15 minutes to make). I <3 pho with glass noodles and the rice crepes ! The prices are really reasonable and its always got happy people inside. The outside didnt do the good inside justice! You know what they say about dont judge a book by its cover! This place is amazing 10 stars!

You know its a good sign when you see mainly Vietnamese faces packing the tables. Khai Hoan is a small, clean eatery serving delicious Vietnamese fare. I am told the dishes are authentic. All I know is, I love the pho! Also the little sauces, the fresh herbs, the spring rolls. Mmmmm. This is a wonderful spot about one block away from the Apache & McClintock light rail stop.

Made a carry-out order and the customer service was great! Extremely friendly and offered me water as I waited for my order. I didnt even wait 10 min and they apologized for the delay which was unnecessary. Food was really really good and very reasonably priced. Dont judge by outside appearance, inside is great!

It really stinks to leave such a low rating as the food and the service was good. The reason for the low rating is there were visible cockroaches running around on the walls and one eventually got on my table. This lead me to be very sketched out as I was eating. I took it to go and got out of there.

Ordered a bowl of pho and it had a hair in it. I was pretty reasonable and just asked for a new bowl of pho. I get my new bowl of pho and theres a hair sitting right on top. I look over at my friends plate of Chinese food and she has a hair in her rice. Gross. We just got up and left at that point.

Service is always great and kind. Its a small family-owned joint that can easily get packed during dinner rushes. Ive only ever had the pho and summer rolls, but theyre both delicious. Both good enough to satisfy my very discerning palate that grew up on my moms own authentic Vietnamese cuisine!

Decent place to eat Vietnamese food. Since there isnt much competition in terms of Vietnamese food, the price here is a bit expensive, which is reasonable, since ingredients to make the food here is expensive. Everything is probably shipped from CA. Service is typical of a Vietnamese place.

We eat here at least once a month! Everything weve gotten is good. If its not what we thought they have been kind enough to exchange it for us. Our kiddos love this place! Chicken pho is great! Sweet and sour chicken is a point. But like I said everything weve gotten here has been bomb
