I was SHOCKED!!! The good news: Very nice "steakhouse" decor. Service was excellent!!! Bad news: Filet was stringy, chewy, and had no flavor. The texture was more like that of a Top Sirloin. Prime rib was mushy and it also had no flavor. Ordered medium rare, came out medium well. The server was very attentive and quicky replaced it with a perfect medium rare. Still no flavor. Au jus had way to much garlic powder in it. The ribeye we ordeted was ............"edible." Very similar to something that you would get at a Texas Roadhouse. Almost EVERYTHING had way too much garlic powder in it. What kind of a high end steakhouse uses garlic powder in EVERYTHING?!?! Surely SOMEONE in the kitchen knows how to peel garlic!!! The "garlic" ranch dressing was "poured out of a jar" ranch dressing with ........ you guessed it GARLIC POWDER. Now it doesnt take 5 minutes to make fresh ranch drrssing!!! Our server highly recomended the augratin potatoes . Ok, Im thinking thin sliced potatoes mixed with butter, cream, a little FRESH garlic, imported romano cheese, and a little mozzarella or cheddar cheese melted on top. Ummm, ........NO!!! Thin sliced potatoes, butter, and way too much garlic powder baked in a cassarole pan, sometime that day, and then cut in squares and served, "use to be warm." Ok, I reviewed the entrees first, hey, it IS ........ "supposed" to be a streakhouse. Ceasar salad was by far the best part of the meal!!!! Great??? No, but at least it was average!!! Bread, REALLY average muffins and BISCUITS!!! REALLY, BISCUITS?!?!? No FRESH BAKED ........... some kind of bread? How about the guy who is NOT pealing fresh garlic, maybe he has time to bake some bread? Soup, smoked chicken and rice. Sounds AWESOME!!! Ok, cubes of excellent smoked chicken dumped in a cup with "some kind of GRAVY", a tablespoon of rice, and wait for it .......... garlic powder!!! There should be a law against what they did to that awesome smoked chicken!!! Anyway, we were soooooo looking forward to SOME KIND OF DESSERT!!! The garlic powder taste was killing me!!! Our very attentive server suggested creme brulee, but this is the same lady who sold us on the Augratin potatoes, soooooooo, we decided on the chocolate cake and a slice of pecan pie. The chocolate cake was sliced an inch thick, and was EXACTLY like what you could find in ANY grocery freezer section. Lets just say that two chocolate LOVERS at our table, only took one bite. The pecan pie wasnt half as good as what is available at Sams Club. Price wise everything was very comparable to any fine steakhouse. The problem was that the quality was NOT!!! To the folks who "professionally" reviewed this steakhouse, I WAS SHOCKED!!!

I must say this was our 2nd time to the Stockyards Restaurant and we were much more impressed this time than when we came during Restaurant Week last May. We were in the back dining room which was lovely, very old world western and possibly had lots of original late 1800s decor. Service once again was terrific, Parker, our server who was also our server when we were there the first time, once again awesome., She has a great personality and makes you feel at home. The biscuits and corn bread with the honey butter thats served on the side is wonderful and I could easily eaten several baskets of them. The fresh vegi relish tray with ranch dressing is a very nice touch. My husband and I shared the Prime Rib for 2 which was huge and we actually took enough home to have lunch the next day. That entree comes with soup or salad and sides of vegetables, whipped potatoes and the whiskey sweet potato mash. I had the cup of steak soup very good, very chunky and my husband choose the salad which he really liked commenting that the Italian dressing was very good. We brought my Mother who ordered the 8 oz prime rib and she thoroughly enjoyed hers, she also had the dinner salad with Italian and commented on how much she enjoyed the dressing and she also got the whipped potatoes and like it. The Prime Ribs were perfectly cooked as we ordered them, ours rare and my Mothers medium rare and all extremely tender with a great au jus and my husband enjoyed the fresh horseradish. We went for my birthday and I received a complimentary dessert so I choose the pecan pie with bourbon whipped creme. We shared the dessert and had a hard time finishing it because we were so full but it was delicious. We definitely will return.

We had a party of 7 that night. Very casual place . Was expecting dressy casual but not at all. Very casual . They tried sitting our party at a table between the rooms where everyone had to crawl around to get seated and trays of food being pass over backside of you to other tables. We asked to be seated elsewhere. The hostess was irritated immediately with our kind request. 3 out of 7 steaks came out cooked wrong and one was the wrong cut of meat my friend ordered, drinks needed refilled we had to keep asking other staff. Over all it was good food . Not very classy for a date . Get together With friends ok . $$$ No one seemed happy at tables we could see & hear from our table. Many complaints that night. Manager would not come out to talk to table behind us nor the older vets that sat on the other side. We made our dinner issues very clear to our waitress attention and got no response but shoulder shrugg and but it taste great question. Email manager his response was waitress says we never complained , I press the issue manager Gary second email said waitress said issues were brought To her attention . He lied gave us two different response within 5 minutes . This is the manager who refused to honor our vets and come talk to customer who requested him that night we dined . Yikes we will not be returning. Chops in Scottsdale is awesome , chard house

Called Monday to make a reservation for Friday evening. Made sure to bring to their attention that we would be dining with them for my wifes birthday. Told me they would make note of it. Sadly nothing came of it, not s word from anyone. Not even the host looking directly at our reservation. Next disappointment was the wifes choice of appetizer, the New England clam chowder, flavor was good but it was luke warm at best. The bread basket contained only cold Bisquick style biscuits. Cold and dry. When the main course arrived, her meat was cooked to order but again only just warm. My steak although ordered medium was quite rare, and only warm. Just like the twice baked potato, warm. In addition her asparagus was cool to the touch. Staff was polite and professional, only one patron was laughing way to loud but he is not a reflection of the establishment. Desert choices were rather limited, hence no desert was ordered. Overall, our dining experience was O.K. nothing special whatsoever. Not likely to return. Perhaps just an off night.

Wooo! Where do I begin, lol. Well first off we were greeted by the host, who made us feel very welcomed there. Then, the server asked us if we had eaten there before. We hadnt, so she gave us a verbal tour about the building, where what was what. Then how the restaurant came to be. Then we ordered, with some great suggestions from our server, no doubt. Our table just came alive with the hussle and bussle of the servers, giving us our biscuits and cornbread. Keeping our drinks filled, then all was quiet again as we ordered our meals. They stayed on top with our drinks and keeping the bread and butter filled, when our soups and salads were ready. The table came alive again, the servers clearing our appetizer plates, getting places set for our first entree. Finally, the main course was on its way. Let me tell you, WOOO! My first bite into the Prime Rib I had ordered, WHEW!!! To be continued...stay tuned!
