While picking up a take out order which they messed up on thats another story. Anyways, I had ordered two thai iced tea to go. Once I had paid, the girl who had helped me walked to the back to make it. I seen her looking confused and looking around the kitchen. She stood in the back for awhile with two empty plastic cups and walked back to the counter and told me she cant find covers for the cups. (How can you not have cup covers??? And why would you tell me, I cant do anything about it) So she walks back and makes my drinks in the plastic cups that have no covers. She tells one of the owners which that theres no cover for the cups. Another lady took over my order. She grabbed big Styrofoam cups that has covers, added more ice, and transferred the drinks from the plastic cups. (There was more ice than the drink it self) Which the girl should of made it in that cup from the beginning. After my drink was made the girl gave my drinks. I seen her walk back to grab the plastic cups, walked to the sink, rinsed it, and left it on the side. (I hope they dont reuse the cups and give it to another customer. Very unsanitary and gross.) Who knows if they reuse things there all the time. I waited for a total of 10 to 15 minutes for my drinks. After all that, they messed up on our take out order. We called back and also had mentioned about the girl rinsing the cups and hoping they wont reuse it for the next customer. She claims she threw it away but why would you rinse a cup and say you threw it away. Obviously theirs no cover for the cups...no reason to save it.

Multiple things wrong with this whole experience. The first time I ordered from this place, they forgot to include the whole order. Then I had to go back to get the rest of the order. Arrived at home and found that they had only included 3 pitas rather than the six I had ordered. Came back again and then they demanded $3 for each additional pita. Inflation is high but not that high. Would NOT recommend. Stay away. Decided to give these guys another chance as they are only 5 minutes away from my house and I believe in giving second chances. What a mistake. Ordered fried rice: got home and found out it was rice with soy sauce. Who ever heard of fried rice without any vegetables or meats of any kind? Only in their own little twisted world is "fried rice" equivalent to rice + soy sauce + heat. When I called them to ask what had happened, they were completely unrepentant. They stated that fried rice with vegetables was not "regular fried rice" but "large regular fried rice". They clearly need to have someone who is fluent in English explain to them the standard definitions of menu items. Obviously, I have had two very negative experiences here, and I am pissed. I am an Asian man myself, and dont in general try to bad-mouth other Asians, but these guys take the cake. This is also the first internet review that I have ever written, so you can understand that they must have gone above and beyond the usual definitions of pathetic to induce me to write up my experiences here. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I have eaten here twice now and it has been an awesome experience both times. The first time was with a party of seven people. We were seated as soon as we arrived - no wait time at all. It was mid-afternoon so it was after lunch time, but they were still staffed well. They bring you fried wonton chips and sweet and sour sauce for free with your drinks, like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. Those are delicious to begin with. There is also a full bar in the restaurant. The food was brought out quickly after we ordered. You can upgrade a meal to a dinner combo for $1.75, and it includes a soup, a spring roll, and a crab puff. The crab puff was probably the best Ive ever had, and the spring roll was perfect. At our table, we tried tangerine beef, orange chicken, lemon chicken, and several other dishes. I mentioned these because they were my favorites. If you like orange chicken, youll love Dao Kitchens. This was the best Chinese food Ive ever had and Ill definitely keep coming back. UPDATE: Still 5 stars. I lived nearby for a year and this was by far my favorite place to eat. Everything they do, they do well. The orange chicken and orange beef are the best Ive had. Their lo mein is also incredible. Also, the people who work there are incredibly nice, the service is great, and theyve never gotten an order wrong (I ordered takeout many times, and ate in many times). I dont live in North Phoenix anymore, and I miss Dao Kitchen so much. I think about them a lot...

This spot has been catching my eye for a while and I decided to stop in for take out. I tip generously because I know its nice, but the service, quality of food and overall experience makes me regret leaving a good tip before I try a place... The service was slow, the girls working were nice and polite but not too helpful and definitely not customer service oriented. The food is my biggest problem here though. The beef is dry, there is barely any sauce, and its totally not crispy. The taste is mediocre at best, had much better orange beef at other local places unfortunately. Its honestly disappointing enough to where I dont want to finish :/ the rice tastes like it was cooked in a microwave bag... The only redeeming things about my meal are the wonton, spring roll and cookies. I was brought the wrong take out order at first, and then told there was a problem with the brown rice when I received my food? Customer service means everything, and a guests first time experience with an establishment will stick with them forever. This one definitely did, and I will not be returning. Im sure for regulars and people who live in the area, its a great easy good place for Asian. For me though, I will gladly drive an extra 10 minutes to get food twice the quality and twice the service for nearly the* same price.

Ive been here several times before but after my recent experience, I will NOT go back. I ordered take out. They took 25 minutes to prepare my order. I drove 15 minutes to pick up my food. I paid, got my food and drove home another 15 mins. I came home to find that they forgot to finish preparing one of my dishes. Instead of giving me sweet and sour pork, they gave me just fried pork - no sweet and sour sauce - and threy threw in some uncooked vegetables. When I called to tell them, they said "ok. what do you want me to do?" I asked for them to deliver what I ordered or give me a refund. They told me they dont deliver and the only way theyll give me a refund is if I go back there. Seriously? I have to drive another 1/2 hour for a refund. They didnt even apologize or offer me some kind of complimentary dish. They could care less.
