They didnt seem to know how to handle a grand opening very well, ordering and wording was confusing (i ordered a beef quesadilla, she says "cheese?", i say yeah, she puts a plain cheese quesadilla on the grill). The way the menu is angled you arent able to see it until you get right up to the ordering bar so for the rest of the 15 minutes youre standing in line you cant really decide on your order if you dont know the menu already. The food itself wasnt bad, but it didnt taste too different from a quesadilla i could make at home. The craziest part was the price. The quesadilla is $10, and its not even a full one, just one normal-sized tortilla folded in half. For three people with basic entrees (nothing fancy added, no special requests), chips, and three medium drinks, it was around $34. And thats WITH the free entree coupon they were giving out, without it the total was a little over $40. I have no clue how they stay competitive with places like Chipotle right down the block. (Should be noted this is my first experience with a Cafe Rio, and it was the locations first day open so might opinion might be skewed a bit.)

Cafe Rio is now a large chain but the food is still great like it was Salt Lake City, 2004. This one, on the southeast corner of West Bell Road and N. 75th Avenue in Peoria, Arizona- A western suburb of Phoenix, is continuing the trend. It is new and the new staff need to learn about speed, efficiency and pre-op for taco Tuesday. The food is great, after a wait. Its also too small. Whomever did the site survey for this should have gone with a building 3 times this size. I understand real estate along Bell Road in the Arrowhead area is a premium, but inside, there are only two tables, four benches and two 4-seat high chair bar style positions. Sure there are 4 small round tables outside, facing Southwest so the late 115 degree sunshine keeps your food warm. I know this space was a Chevron station just last year, but it wont do for family meetings. This is a take-home location only. Great food, no room. Please relocate. North face property please.

Worst experience ever. I would give it 0 stars if i could. Restaurant is very, very small. I waited in line and ordered my food with my two small children while the other guests came in after me and sent one person to order while the other person "saved" a table for their party. We were stuck holding our trays while waiting for people to "finish eating" when they havent even ordered yet. The restaurant needs to prevent this from happening. Also, its horrible that people will sit at a table without food while other customers are standing with their trays waiting for others to finish when that havent even started, shamful. I asked for a refund and handed the general manager my receipt. He crumpled up my receipt the asked me what I ordered. I told him he had my receipt and awkwardly tried to uncrumple the receipt. I told him we would go somewhere else where they had room for us and that we would not be back.

My wife and I come here multiple times a month, sometimes more than once a week. The food always tastes amazing! Our concern is the store is always very dirty. The tables, floors, and restrooms have never been clean for a single visit. We understand there a food business so things might get a little messy here and there. However, our problem is that there are clearly about 10 people working daily, and while the store is dirty, there are always people standing around doing nothing, just hanging out in the back like its social time and not work time. Having a good social work environment is great, but when it gets in the way of your job duties, then theres a problem that needs to be fixed.

SMALL. I dont know what they were expecting but it looks like it was poor planning on their part when it comes to spaces to eat. There are a few tables and 2 sets of a high bar area to eat, where the sun beats down on you despite the shade they tried to produce. Do not expect to eat here during busy hours, unlike their other locations, which provide sun free eating and plenty of tables. There are some tables outside in the heat, but no misting system like another location here has. The staff are always friendly and the food is the same of course.

Love Cafe Rio but whoever decided on this tiny location should be embarrassed. Its WAY too small to handle the crowd and there is nowhere for anyone to sit. We walked in and realized dining in wouldnt be possible so walked right out and went to Rubios across the parking lot instead. Food not as good but at least we didnt have to take it to go. Wont even try eating here again, will instead have to go to the Happy Valley location which is actually a normal size restaurant. Very disappointed.

Ive always loved Cafe Rio, so was psyched when I found out they were opening this location so close to my house! I love their food and on my first visit here last month, I was impressed with the energy from all the staff. Everybody seemed so excited to work there and knew what they were doing even though they had only been in business for less than a month. Cant wait to go back!

The food was great but it was a little pricey 26$ for 2 of us and whats with the all the chanting every time someone order extra cheese or nachos the entire kitchen area starting singing or chanting very very loudly and the worst was if someone was a first timer they sang you a whole song again yelling if you ate inside the place it was difficult to have a conversation

Terrible complete trash of service is just horrid they maybe friendly but they do not have a systematic way to complete orders they messed up on a simple order of a chicken quesadilla and got it mixed with another customer order, had to have the manager step in and Re make my order . I recommend going on the one in happy valley

Although theyve barely opened, and employees are being trained, their service is superb. The manager has been involved with opening many Cafe Rios around the valley and he respects every customer and is friendly to all. The waiting wasnt very long during dinner hours despite how many people were in line. Another great Cafe Rio!

Staff is friendly and food was great! Ive been going here about once a week for lunch. Not a lot of indoor seating. I really like their tacos so far the best. My daughter loves their burritos. Im picky about the quality of meat places use. Theirs is not fatty and has great seasoning. Highly recommend eating here!

The food is great at Cafe Rio. Im partial to the steak and chicken enchiladas. Right up there with Chipotle. However, theres scarce seating at this location. Im across the street at Mid Pizza after walking in and walking right out. Probably best for take-out orders here.

Terrible customer service at this location, a tiny space, bad placement, we love Cafe Rio and wont be coming back to this location. The only good thing is the manager is really nice. We will continue to go to the store on bell on the other end of town!
