PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Before you read this, understand that Giovannis Pizza is an "Italian" restaurant. That is, Giovannis attempts to create Italian dishes with very little success. Because this restaurant is a mere hole in the wall (but not the good kind), please set your standards low before you walk in. The first time I went to Giovannis I ordered chicken parmesan and was less than enthused. It surmounts to pile of oily spaghetti noodles with, what appears to be, a frozen and lightly breaded chicken patty smothered in one of the most bland marinara sauces Ive ever tasted. I decided to try Giovannis again and this time order something different. This experience is what led me to write this review. I ordered the shrimp scampi, but can assure you what I received is far from any shrimp scampi Ive ever eaten. Rather, it was large amount of spaghetti noodles engrossed in a POOL of juice (likely water, olive oil, etc.) surmounted with 6 jumbo shrimp and completely covered with a disgusting amount of garlic and other unidentifiable seasonings. What this equated to was an inedible garlic-y, soupy mess. I will not go into detail about the side salad and breadsticks that the dinner comes with, as the quality of them was just the same as the shrimp scampi. To top off my horrible experience, the service my family and I received there was very subpar. There were 16 people in the restaurant when we dined there (we were 5 of them) and we never received a refill nor were we checked on during the meal.

Best place in Blount county to eat. Tell Lucy The Whites sent you. Great food. Awesome prices and the servers are very respectful and on top of things. Just watch out for Rita, she may be physically abusive to you if you smart off to her, lol. Im kidding. Great place tho. And most importantly, it IS Biker friendly. They have never complained about,me parking my sled in front. Come check it out.

Entered the restaurant with 5 adults and 1 child. Owner seated us at a table for 4. When waitress came we ask to pull another small table up as not to be crowded. Owner began to fuss about tables being put together Owner continued to fuss for the entire time. We left and will not return. Horrible customer service.

This is the best pizza around Birmingham and its a good 30 miles from the city. Its got such fresh ingredients and such a variety! I loved our waitress Rita..she was so funny and REAL. If you buy a pizza here..you get one free..everyone is satisfied!

Excellent pizza for over a decade. FAMILY restaurant, FRESH ingredients CLEAN restaurant, and a wait staff that other restaurants should be jealous of. A must see if in town, central to covered brides of Blount county. GREAT KAYAKING!
