Since Lancaster Brewing Company was on my list of places to try when I was researching things to do in Lancaster, my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. Plus, it was right down the block from the Airbnb we were staying at. To start, we had the chili-braised wild boar nachos (queso fundido + jalapeños + red onion + guacamole + black bean salsa + chipotle sour cream). Ive only had wild boar a handful of times so I was a little iffy but...guacamole? Good. Melted cheese? GOOD. Couldnt possibly be horrible and it wasnt. To be honest, you cant really go wrong with nachos. I had the LBC classic meatloaf (whipped potatoes + roasted vegetables + Milk Stout mushroom gravy). This was AMAZING. I dont get to have meatloaf often so as soon as I saw this on the menu, I knew I was getting it. It was perfectly cooked - not dry, not mushy, but just perfect. The sauce was great too - had both sweet and salty notes to it. My boyfriend went with the Bourbon BBQ baby back ribs (house-cut fries + cole slaw + Hop Hog spiked barbecue sauce). The meat was good. It was nice and tender and fell right off the bone. However, it was a little too saucy for my taste. They give really hefty portions here. We each had about half of our meal leftover that we took to go. My only regret is not trying the 8 beer sampler flight. I had read about it prior to coming in but completely forgot about it until after the meal. I guess Ill just have to come back and try it (and get some more of that meatloaf!) P.S. They have food happy hour specials everyday, but I found this out after the fact - so be sure to check out their website for the that day you do decide to go.

First time back in eight years, met my now husband there on a date. Very disappointed. It was a wed eve, the place was dead, and yet the hostess gave us a hard time because out of our group of 7, three people were "only drinking". She gave us a very condescending message, "The DR is only for eating". So we waited while she checked with the mgr. Gee, thanks for allowing us to sit in an empty dining room and bending your rules for us. Food was terrible- I had the brisket ravioli (triangoli)- noodle was uncooked and gummy, filling was mushy and barely warm. My husband had shrimp and corn chowder which was tasteless and had creamed corn and minced shrimp. His wings were cold and tough. I am glad they took the wings and my ravioli off the tab after we complained. The beer has sorely gone downhill, just okay, really and were microbrew people. Kind of bitter and flat. We were there apparently close to closing time, so they were sweeping and cleaning up around us, employees were sitting at a table near us, we felt they were "hovering" a bit too much. As we were leaving one employee walked past us, very sarcastically, "have a SPLENDID evening". We now live in CO and were back for a visit, wanted to have an experience reminiscent of our first date- not at all. Will not return on our next visit home.......

This place has excellent potential, but falls short for a number of reasons...The beer is delicious and strong, the layout and general feel are fantastic, the food is good but is not actualized in an effective manner leaving much to be desired. I ordered the short rib sandwich and was extremely pleased with the flavor of the meat/sauce and softness of the roll it was served upon, but extremely disappointed with the amount of sauce I received causing my sandwich to disintegrate leaving me with saucy short rib, 3/4 loaf of saucy bread, and some limp French fries. My girlfriend ordered the fried pickles, Greek salad, and French onion soup. The Greek salad had excellent potential but was split up like a pizza in terms of ingredients making it difficult to get a cohesive bite, the fried pickles were excellent though. The only extreme disappoint was the French onion soup...A thick layer of cheese over extremely watery broth. Like I said this place has so much potential...They just need to actualize it better, do a few things a little different and it would take them from good to great.

DONT COME HERE. THE SERVICE AND FOOD WAS TERRIBLE! Walked to the front of the brewery to sit outside and drink beer. Was told that they preferred that we sit inside although their were six of us that were going to drink. Was advised by the hostess that the seating was for dining only. There were six tables open. We walked inside. There were two hostesses inside. They said nothing to us. We looked around saw an open table - it had food on it that had not been bused. We asked the hostess to clean the table - which she did. We sat down - no waiter, no waitress in site to great us. Went to the bar, ordered my flight, drank the beer, noted the vibe in brewery was quiet. Unusually quiet for a full brewery. Vibe was staid. Ordered food at the bar. I had to ask the hostess with whom I could order food. A small cheese pizza was $12. Pizza was very average. Ordered a steak sub. Mostly bread and cheese. Probably one of the cheapest made sandwiches I have ever had. I WONT GO BACK TO THIS PLACE!

This is the first review I have ever taken the time to get online to write. This is how strongly I feel about our wasted money for the food quality at this restaurant. My family was starving and we ordered carryout to the tune of $41. It sounded so delicious according to menu description, however, when we arrived back at the hotel, we found a frozen, prepackaged burger for our kids with a cheap bun and terrible cheese and frozen french fries with NO condiments. The brautwurst was supposed to come with red bliss mashed potatoes and glazed onions, both missing and in their place, the aforementioned fries. The meatloaf was an unidentifiable lump with again fries instead of the red bliss potatoes as promised. We were so dissatisfied I almost actually called back to complain to the restaurant. Its one thing if you are expecting this quality of food, but the menu sorely misrepresents the fare. Dont waste your money; these restaurateurs should be ashamed to serve this terrible food at such prices.

Luckily we don’t go to restaurants for the parking because the parking lot was incredibly small and packed. That being said, there was parking on the street and this was the only downfall to the night. We started off with fried asparagus and tuna ceviche for appetizers, both of which were amazing. The ceviche was a little spicy but the mangos made it a perfect balance. We had a variety of dinners, the Shrimp BLT pizza, a Reuben, the Atlantic Salmon, & the Wild Boar. Everything was great, and everyone finished every last part of the meal. We ended the night with crème brulee cheesecake and pecan pie, once again … both delicious. We tried the Milk Stout Beer, the Pilsner, and the Strawberry Wheat beer. This restaurant is HIGHLY recommended.

Food was poorly prepared, even for pub fare. It started well. 1st course: Greek salad. Fresh greens, vegetables and a lively vinaigrette. Feta was fresh. 2nd course: fried goat cheese with some field greens and marinara. Was prepared and presented well. Delicious. Then it all went down hill. 3rd course: brisket sandwich with cheddar, lettuce and tomato. Poorly prepared. It tasted and had the consistency of fatty day old roast beef reheated and heaped on an untoasted kaiser roll with a dash of liquid smoke. Roll was waterlogged by the time it got to the table. 4the course: tuna egg roll. Again poorly prepared. It was chunk lite tuna wrapped in thick wonton, over fried, and thrown onto a rotten salad of pickled dichon and carrot.
