Stone Barn update - Had our daughters wedding at the Stone Barn last year - pretty venue - but bad food - a far cry from meals we had at the restaurant in the past and what was presented at the tasting. So we went to small claims to get some sort of reimbursement on our $13,000.00 meal payment.. The Judge ordered the Stone Barn to pay $4000.00 - that was about 6 months ago and still no check despite several phone calls...sigh. Kelly said she would look into it with the court - still no check. Guess the next step is to proceed legally and maybe call CBS News On Your Side to see if they can help. I am very glad that some peoples wedding receptions were wonderful, and Im very sorry that ours and quite a few others were not. Seems like what you get at your reception is a bit of crap shoot. Brides-to-be, and parents please heed this warning - if you do have your wedding at the Stone Barn, I would not pay the final check until after your reception - you may end up in our shoes - paying $20,000.00 for a beautiful backdrop for your pictures and be incredibly disappointed in the food!I think, no I know, you can do better elsewhere, especially if you actually want to be able to have the meal experience you thought you would get and sadly paid for.So buyers beware - seems things at the Stone Barn are taking a turn for the worst - just wish my daughters day could have been what it should have been - perfect. I dont want any other parents to have the experience we did.

Food: Let me preface by saying that we went here for Mothers Day Buffet towards the end of the seating service. Having said that, and taking that into consideration, I feel that it is simply not worth it to do the buffet here regardless. Everything was not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it was not stand out either. It was slightly above average buffet quality. I have eaten in the sit down restaurant which is much better and perhaps a better deal despite the fact that it is on the more expensive side. Atmosphere: Has a quaint farmhouse feel from the outside, and the surrounding property is picturesque. The inside has some of that charm but is also somewhat dingy and rundown. Not what you would expect really given the price tag. Service: Service can be OK, but also feels less than professional at times. Everything just has a "carnival" sort of feel to it. I mean it is weird to play phone tag to make reservations, kids serving boxed desserts, and waiters that disappear. No service was bad, but it was slightly below par and given what you are paying, disappointing. This is not meant to be a scathing review, just an honest assessment. You might very well love it here as its charm outweighs its quirks. Just make sure you know what you are getting into going in. As I have said, the sit down restaurant is another experience all together. I would give that 4 stars.

My fiance and I went here for a tour of the venue and were not impressed. I emailed them through weddingwire to set up an appointment, waited a week and never heard from them. I had to call twice to finally schedule an appointment. When we arrived, we met with Kelly, who did not show any excitement about us being there. She handed us a folder with the wedding packages; never sat down with us to go over everything. She showed us the ceremony spaces and reception spaces. The overall venues are gorgeous, but unfortunately do not look like they have been well taken care of in the past couple of years. Kelly admitted to us that she refuses to have her daughter married at the location, even though its tradition in her family to do so. She also admitted that if we ask her staff to help set up any of the decorations or centerpieces, they will not do a nice job and we shouldnt trust them to do that--"its all on us to do what we want done". I was shocked at how unresponsive she was; it was obvious she did not like her job and/or the venue itself due to her lackluster approach to touring us around the property. I would only recommend this venue to brides who love being in control of every little detail and have the time the day of the wedding to get everything set up.

Friends who had attended a wedding & reception here had recommended The Stone Barn to my daughter & son-in-law....BEST advice they ever got! The venue is beautiful, the food was amazing, the staff was extremely friendly & helpful. They allowed us to decorate the room the day before & did everything they could to assist. Wedding guests were sharing food with each other to "brag" how their dish was the best. They had served 3 different meals...each one was delish, although my favorite was the butternut squash ravioli! Food service was very promptly served to all guests, and the food was hot for everyone. They even prepared a couple "special dishes" for wedding guests that were picky eaters. Wedding guests were not from the area, but they enjoyed the venue & food so much, that they were talking about returning individually to spend the day in the area & having lunch or dinner here! I know that ALL the wedding guests would highly recommend The Stone Barn to anyone!

We visited this location as a potential wedding venue based on the pictures on their website of the beautiful mill (before it closed temporarily). Upon arrival, we were told that we could not book that location unless we had more than 200 guests attending, period, even if we were flexible on the date. The alternate space that was shown to us was a yard right next to the parking lot for the ceremony, and what looked like an out-dated cafeteria/camp stage for the reception. I would not have wasted the 4 hour round trip drive had the minimum limit been listed on the website or mentioned when I called to book a tour. The mill was beautiful and people nice, but I was VERY upset at what felt like a bait and switch.

Sunday Buffet - We were amongst the first to show up- for a family brunch... The folks and servers were very helpful and the food was disappointing for something that was just brought out at 10:30am. I read the other reviews and I like the venue, is it tired? Yea it could be fixed up or improved. - I think they need to ask the chef to step up or out - Honestly. We have been there annually for several years and this is the first time I can say I might not be back.

Wonderful place to have your wedding if your looking for an old, wood and stone barn feel. The two story fireplace is a stunning focal point. I was married there September 2010. I went to dinner 2/12/11 at the new Foxfire restaurant. The food was fresh, local and phenomenal. The presentations are amazing.

I had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Stone Barn over the weekend and I highly recommend it. The food is delicious, the venue is beautiful and the service (both from the event coordinator for more than a year and the servers on the day of) were amazing.

Went for Mothers day brunch. Food was fair, but did not live up to expectations. Was more consistent with a $10 buffet. Desserts were aweful. Atmosphere was"old" and the air was musty. The restrooms were old
