We were visiting NY on a vacation and this place was was right across the street from our hotel. My son is into trying new foods and had never been to a ramen place (neither had we). He begged to go so we stepped out for dinner on a Thursday night. We walked in and were almost immediately greeted with a smile and seated near a window. We were pleasantly surprised at the inside since the outside makes it look so much smaller. It was not terribly busy when we went. Alice was our waitress and she was very friendly and helpful as we had a few questions before ordering. We had the chicken teriyaki ramen, pork buns, gyoza and a pork ramen bowl. No complaints at all about the food. My husband literally has been dreaming about pork buns since he last visited NYC a few years back. Ajisen makes theirs a little different as they use pork belly. He was in love with their recipe! He even ordered more to go to have as a late night snack at the hotel. I love gyoza and theirs was so very tasty! My son tried both and loved them. He almost ate 2 whole orders of the gyoza himself! As for the ramen.....It arrived piping hot to us and the smell of the food was killing us as we stirred it around to cool it down. It was amazing! Our mouths were watering waiting to get a bite into our mouth! Everything about the ramen was delicious! The meat was tender and the broth was flavorful. We added some of the "ramen pepper" which is a blend of black pepper, onion powder and something else. It really did add a pop of extra flavor. We also ordered bubble teas. We tried the passion fruit and the coconut. HOLY BUBBLE TEA! We love bubble tea and order it every chance we get. The passion fruit was good, but the coconut was like a refreshing oasis that we didnt know we needed. We ordered an extra one of these too! Steven came over to bring our teas. Our son was wearing a Dragon Ball shirt and Steven took the time to talk to our son about Gorky and the likes. He actually gave my son time to talk and he listened. It made his night. Kiddo asked for extra chop sticks because, well, hes 9 and chopsticks are cool. We were given plenty extra with a smile. Between the food, bubble teas, Alice and Steven, this was pretty much our favorite dining experience during our 6 days in New York. We plan to go back and may stay in a different area, but Ajisen in Chelsea is already on our go back to list!

Delicious Ramen! Came here with a family of 6 after the first Ramen place (Bassanova) ran out of food?!? Very glad I did! Their take on the pork bun was different and very tasty. Their Ramen noodle was reasonably priced ($8-$11) and ultra satisfying. Others at the table had the dumplings and sushi and there were no complaints there. We finished off the meal with red bean fried ice cream. If you havent had red bean ice cream , it is a must try! Everyone at the table was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was accommodating. The only complaint might be the restroom facilities. Dont let that deter you, I would definitely recommend this place for Ramen.

Decent option for ramen especially since it is the only option in the area. I went last week and ordered the Ajisen ramen which was pretty delish. The pork (chashu) was very solid and the broth was decent, but could improve; the noodles were the weakest. The atmosphere leaves something to be desired with bright lights and lots of people (but for lunch, I really couldnt care less). The service is also lacking with limited attention and dishes coming in random order, including apps after entrees. However, all that said, the prices are great and the ramen is totally passable, and I will be going back this winter for more bowls of goodness.

Update 7/23/17. EXTRA STAR! im giving Ajisen an extra star! I was eating here with three friends. One of them found an INSECT IN HER FOOD (probably a silver fish). The staff was VERY apologetic the ofensive dish was immediately cleared, and it was removed from our bill. Normally Id give an eatery serving insect contaminated food the minimal rating, but im giving them an extra star b/c of the way they handled this TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE incident. [Previous review] Ive eaten here many times. Okay for a quick meal. Service can be problematic at times, & on occasion flat out bad.

Good lunch food spot. Usually reliable. But if they miss or delay your order so you have to take it back to your work desk dont expect for them to offer you anything for compensation or charge you nothing as it should be. You can expect them to offer you a tea to go (tea is free in this restaurant). When talking politely to the manager about this dont expect the manager in charge to resolve the situation and throw in something extra to go. Expect him to mumble some sorry that sounds more like him hoping this annoying costumer would finally go away.

Okay ramen, broth could have been more flavorful. I got the Ajisen Ramen which is essentially a chashu ramen. The chashu was pretty good actually, I prefer more fatty and soft chashu but Ajisens is definitely not lacking. Convenient since there are really no other ramen places in the area. I went at lunch on a Thursday and the place was packed. Staff speaks English and menu has english.

Ótimo custo-benefício. Ramen muito bom num restaurante de atendimento rápido (não confundir com fast food) e sem muitas frescuras. Não espere ficar por lá mais de uma hora.

Ajisen is what I like to call cost-effective ramen. The NYC ramen-scene is an increasingly competitive scene with prices racing for the top. Ajisen is cheaper than most of the big names, Totto, Ippudo, and Ivan. Do those places have better dishes? Most likely. But Ajisens offerings are genuinely good for a very reasonable price. I highly recommend the the spicy Ajisen Ramen.

I never review restaurants but this time i have to. I ordered takeout. After devouring my ramen soup, I bit into a gyoza dumpling and luckily noticed something hard that made me pause....it was a metal staple. At least it was half of a metal staple! Hopefully i did not swallow too much other sharp metal debris...beware. I, for one, will not be ordering from there again.

Had a great dinner at Ajisen Ramen, loved the miso ramen with spicy pork. They were willing to make a small substitution (adding spicy ground pork instead of sliced pork belly) in my dish. Cozy space, if a little small. Service was friendly and attentive. Its a little confusing when you first walk in, but if you go to the left one of the servers will greet and seat you.

Yemekler çok lezzetli ve taze. Noodle ile servis edilen ramenlerin dana etli olanı süper. Ayrıca sashimiler de başarılı. Mekan küçük ve samimi, servis hızlı

味噌ラーメンは、味噌の味がきつすぎ、ダシの味が? 野菜ラーメンは、スープは美味しいけど麺とカラムかと言われると?? 麺は細麺、味噌も野菜も・・ 店員さんは、可愛いですよ

This place is alright. I had the veggie ramen, my wife had a philidelphia roll and an avocado roll. Her avocado role was good, my ramen was bland. My wife thought the sushi they used for her philly roll had food coloring, which didnt make her happy. The service was prompt. They were playing loud, annoying pop music.
