DONT GO HERE. This place is notorious for not letting people in because they are black. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, if you have a little bit of melanin in your skin, dont even think about being able to get through security. I went there today (5/19/16) after taking a break from CVP due to the nonsense they pulled on Tigerfest weekend, I was eager to give it another try but once again I was reminded that my skin color is a "threat" to everyone. I have spent money in this establishment numerous times, and even invited numerous people to the establishment to spend their money and have a good time. Upon arrival, I was asked to provide two IDs (one college ID and drivers license) which I respectfully provided. The man who was working security checked my IDs and began to move closer to me with his hands up as if he was going to hit me to the point where I felt uncomfortable and threatened. I nicely and respectfully asked him please not to touch me and he denied me access into the bar. I plan on writing an article about this experience and distributing it everywhere possible. I will NEVER recommend this spot to anyone anymore. People come to this establishment to spend money and create memories, not to feel threatened after providing everything that is asked for to gain entrance. A lot of people have been having issues with CVP for months now, its time for the owner or management to change something because they will surely lose business if this treatment continues to be acceptable.

In January of 2011, Charles Village Pub in Towson had a "structural" fire. The bar was torn down and rebuilt over the past year. The bar/pub/patio has had a "soft opening" this weekend - with a grand opening scheduled for Monday (4/23). I visited on Saturday night - and arrived at 9PM. At that time the bar was not too crowded - a 30th birthday party was taking place on the 2nd floor and there was plenty of space to walk around, get a drink at any of the 4 bars, and grab a table to sit. As learned, with any bar in Towson, when 10:30 comes around, all hell breaks lose. Around that time, half of Towson arrived - lines to get in the front door. There was no place to really peacefully sit/stand and talk on the 2nd floor, there was a fight between female patrons in the bathroom, a bar-back spilled a pitcher of beer on my arm (he did apologize several times). I suppose it just comes with the territory. The 1st floor was a little more calm - with a few tables and a less packed bar. (The "dance" area is located on the 2nd floor - lights down, etc.) If you want a chill outing - this probably isnt the place for you after 10PM. Looking forward to going back during the day and early evening (happy hours).

Went tonight with my girlfriend and a friend of ours. We sat at the bar on the first floor. I was skeptical to order shrimp tacos here but it was under the "favorites"section of the menu so I figured they must not be too bad. So I got the tacos, and my gf got some type of chicken pasta, and we shared some crab fries as an appetizer. The crab fries were GREAT. But everything else was TERRIBLE, including the service. The shrimp tacos entree comes with three tacos,I took one bite out of the first taco and knew I had made a mistake. When the bartender came back around I told him I didnt like the tacos and asked if I could send it back and get something else. His answer was no because I had took a bite already. Now, how am I going to know I dont like my food if I dont bite it? The bartenders suggestion was that my gf and I switch meals since she had barely eaten any of her pasta, which she also didnt like. That is unacceptable. We ended up with a $55 meal that we didnt like, I wont spend another dime in this place.

Customers Be Aware! I was interested in trying out a new eatery in town. I decided to check out on-line menus and discovered this pub. The entree selections seemed appealing and listed a nice variety of selections. I proceeded to take a cab to this destination and sat at the pub bar. A bartender came over to take my order. I was looking forward to trying the freshly made chicken pot pie. I was informed that this entree was no longer available and they had a NEW menu. No apologies or excuses. I was disappointed but decided to try something else. It was rather slow so I ordered a coke while I looked over the NEW menu. I decided on the pork chops. I had to order my drink two more times before being served. Unfortunately, the chops were both dry & inedible. The mashed potatoes were cold. U guessed it, folks. Won be headed back here!

OMG so awful. I ordered the steak and eggs, medium. It came out pure gray inside, without a drop of moisture in it. They said well make you a new one. I said great can I have some butter for my toast while I wait... They brought out something that can only be described as Vaseline. I was sitting in the sun for a good 45 minutes and it didnt melt even a little. I decided to pass on the toast. Second steak came out. I barely touched it with my fork and said "Yep, this is raw as F". I cut it in half and it was PURPLE! I filled out a comment card that they have on the tables describing this event as I have here above... not a single word from CVP about this. #NeverAgain

Ordered food through order up. The said they didnt get the order so the food was an hour and a half late. My burger was raw but I asked for it to be cooked medium well. It looked like they used Kraft cheese slices and my burger was missing the onion straws. There were other missing items from that we ordered and all the other food we ordered was equally disgusting. Save yourself the trouble and dont get food from here

Good story. My friend and I were trying to make our way out and one of the bouncers decided we were not moving fast enough to the exit so he decided to push me to the ground, choke me until I passed out, and drag me down t he stairs half unconscious. I was and am a standing Towson Chamber member trying to reconnect with my alumni when this happened. Good job guys. Way to promote the new and improved CVPS.

I know a guy is not supposed to like sweet drinks or something like that but I have to admit I love the drink they make here Creamsicle Crush. I wont let myself have more than one, then I go back to Stella. But I do like to sneak one in now and then. Great place for baseball. Wish the Orioles were in in it, but we are all going for KC, no one here will root for a New York team ever I dont think.

We held a private 20 year anniversary party here. The staff was wonderful. They went out of their way to help us unload our cars and decorate. We had the crab pretzels, pierogies, meatballs, and more. Everyone went back for more. The bartenders encouraged our guests to try some fun drinks. Everyone had a great time. Thank you CVP for making our Cheers to 20 Years celebration memorable.
