Pretty good place. Friendly, warm, welcoming atmosphere. They have a beautiful fish tank in there (for atmosphere, not eating), soothing music. Pretty neat and clean. I always joke about how theres no phone signal in there because its to keep you off your phone while you eat and to make you are more engaged. All of the staff, including the chef, are always very friendly, kind, and helpful. I remember when I was younger and having trouble using chopsticks one of them gave me a little plastic tool that are pretty much like training wheels for chopsticks. Sushi is always fresh with roughly 40-45 different varieties/combinations of sushi. I would say theyre semi-creative with their varieties but its understandable as they dont exactly have the luxury/time to go all extreme with the creativity because they can only make so much sushi so quickly to make sure the sushi bar is stocked, so dont expect gourmet food. Nonetheless it always tastes very good and is swiftly replenished. I tend to go to the lunch buffet which is the one I described, however Ive tried the dinner buffet. With the dinner buffet they pretty much put a lot more fish/seafood on to the sushi, and you do notice the difference, some might say however that the price tag for the dinner buffet is slightly high. I always go to the lunch buffet and am contempt with that though because it still tastes pretty good. Think of it this way: youre paying for 1-3 rolls worth of sushi ($13.95-$14.95) and if you come on an empty stomach, you certainly get your moneys worth in addition to getting to pick different kinds of sushi instead of all just one kind. I figure thats a fair trade-off. They have a sort of side hot bar that amongst other things features some tempura, some kind of noodle soup, vegetable pancakes (which I like), fried bananas in a cinammon coating (which my family loves), and of course a generic beef dish (that dish tastes okay but I tend to always get it so its obviously good enough to keep getting). The coke I always got was considerably flat over the years, however the last time I went it was actually pretty fresh and fizzy. I think its because they kept them in large ice filled pitchers.(Update: I went there the other day and took notice of how they were serving the soda in different pitchers with less ice as of now, and I can see they have resolved the flat soda issue). Its not fine dining, but overall I think this restaurant, as a buffet restaurant, is a very good place. It certainly outranks its other competitor buffet restaurants in the area. It would be nice if their buffet time frames were slightly more flexible but I always figure something out. I find myself always wanting to go here when Im in the mood for sushi on the weekdays, and Im a sushi person. It might really deserve a 4, but seeing how I tend to always crave going there on the weekdays, I feel like It really deserves a 5.

I have been going here for years for my quick lunch sushi buffet fixes. I stopped by the other day with a party of around 14 at 1 PM. The buffet was still fully stocked and the 4 chefs kept making sure our favorite rolls were being made. They recently increased the price to around $15 for their lunch buffet. You get the larger maki and nigiri rolls now compared to their old mini rolls. They pile on a lot of tuna, eel, salmon and yellowtail on your nigiri. You may be overwhelmed by how much rice is given in each roll, but consider each roll as 2 and you will be fine with your portions. I love the variety of food at their hot food bar. You get chicken wings, bulgogi, grilled vegetables, pot stickers, tempura, kim chi, mango salad and fried bananas. Not sure why this place has been getting negative reviews, but Ive seen them make changes for the better. With more sushi competition on the Pike this location has been consistent with flavor, quality and pricing. You cant find a better sushi buffet in the area unless your willing to drive up to Germantown for Yuraku.

The staff was friendly and very pleasant, and the buffet and sushi selections looked pretty good. However, I made the mistake of ordering a common Japanese dish, Katsudon, without looking at the menu. It was OK, but in many years of preparing this dish myself and eating it in many different venues around the world, this had the toughest piece of pork cutlet, with a large section of grissle. Not as satisfying as Id hoped, as this is my "go to" comfort food. And then the bill came. Twice what Ive ever paid for a much better dish. Oh, well.

The sushi was not the best Ive had in the area, but the selection was decent at a fair price. The staff was very nice and good at keeping the selections prepared as each dish was running low. The buffet also includes items other than sushi so there are plenty of options from which to choose. I cant say this is a place Ill HAVE to come to again, but Id be willing to give it another shot at a bigger impression.

I ordered an assortment of both raw and non-raw sushi from this place. They completely messed up the order- neglected the two non-raw orders but still charged me for the entire order and at that point it was my word against theirs because it was a delivery. Terrible service and completely over-priced!!

As far as sushi buffet goes, they are my favorite. The sushi always taste fresh and are replenished quickly so your favorites are always there for you! The staff is so efficient and they make sure you get what you need. I visit them at least two or three times a month and they never disappoint!!

Excellent fresh food and exceptional customer service! Wide selection of sushi and sushi rolls. Wonderful hot food and salad buffet. Nice atmosphere and décor - really nice place to go on weekend. We had a couple of family and friends birthday gatherings. Always feels good. Highly recommend!

They put too much rice on the sushi so you get full too quickly. Rice tasted strange, the fish didnt taste that fresh. My friend found a bug in his water and the waiter didnt care at all. He just picked at it and walked away without saying anything. Poor service.

Best sushi restaurant in America so far. Real good sushi sold at great value. I travel a bit to get there and eat sushi. The only problem is the staff that seem to be extremely rude to other races families included.

The weekday lunch buffet is a good deal at roughly 15$. The sushi rolls are fresh and well made with good quality fish. There is also a nice assortment of noodles, bulgogi and other dishes.

Popular buffet style at certain times. Not the greatest flavor but inventive and great costumer service. Pricier than the rest to justify for the all you can eat.

Quality sushi, especially considering the quantity and selection available for the lunch buffet. Definitely one of my favorite Rockville lunch spots!

They have enough different rolls to satisfy your cravings for large quantities of sushi. If youre looking for maki rolls, check out Taipei Tokyo
