I had a gift card so I didnt have to pay for my meal out of my own pocket. That was the only thing good about eating there. We started with an appetizer of calamari and it was so tough to chew that my jaw was tired before I even got to the main dish. The calamari was about $10 and there was barely any in the plate. What a joke, The sauce for the calamari was tasty. My main dish was lobster tail and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. They give you about one half a scoop of mashed potatoes. The lobster had no flavor and was served with what was supposed to be butter but was not clear like melted butter should be nor did it taste like real butter so I was not able to hide the fact that the lobster had no flavor with this fake butter. The cost of two meals with no drinks was $86. After tip the total was $100 for a over priced meal with small portions and no flavor. I am so glad that I had a gift card and didnt spend my hard earned money on this lousy meal. If I am going to spend $100 dollars on a lobster meal for two, I would much rather spend it at Waterfront restaurant. Im glad I tried Bonefish because now I know I would never go there again nor would I ever recommend them. You need to lower your prices and build up your portions.

Hands down one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. Our server was named Justin, he was on point all night long with everything. We never once had to ask for a refill, he even jokingly brought me 2 glasses of tea, because I drank the first one so fast. Justin took his time to listen to what were in the mood for, and gave honest recommendations for entrees, wine and what sides paired best with our entrees. He didnt try to push for the most expensive or most popular items on the menu. We were dressed a little more casual for the environment, at least compared to others in the restaurant and we were treated with the same level of respect as others who were dressed far nicer. The whole staff was consistently friendly throughout the meal. We had the chance to speak with manager on shift about our experience, and share our praises about the quality of service and the food. Recommendations from friends and family about the food is what brought us in, and the quality of service is why we will be returning in the future.

The evening started well as we were seated right away and served warm bread. The assistant manager came by to say hi. We ordered fish and chips, Bang bang shrimp tacos, and crab cakes. Only good item was the tacos. Of course the crab cakes were forgotten or "the kitchen was behind, theyll be out shortly". Meanwhile we watched one table get ingnored and then served bread with a 2×2 area of mold on the side of it and another table get the wrong thing brought to them. We were told we got two sides with tacos but when the bill came (which we waited for over 10 minutes) we were charged for one of the sides. Where was the assistant manager now...nowhere. There were 3 host/hostesses not doing much, maybe they could help out? It got very busy and not enough staff Miss Assistant Manager, do t set your standup to fail.

First, I am not a fish guy. If you are not, youll be happy to know their steak is top notch. Get the anglers steak and you wont be disappointed. Everything else (bread, salad, garlic mash potatoes) were awesome. My steak was cooked perfectly all 3 times Ive been here. Also note, my waiter/waitress was always on top of soda refills and taking care of us. They dress classy, the place is classy, but the price is comparable to other places in my opinion. As for fish, my wife has given a thumbs up for them every time weve done. I do wish they had more dessert options (only 4 and no cheesecake), but I was already full from everything else anyway.

I went to the Bonefish for my sisters birthday. I had been to this restaurant once before when it initially opened. The bang, bang shrimp was ok, but not as light as I remember. I had the halibut and it was overseasoned and very greasy. The steamed vegetables were cold. Not a very satisfying meal. Our waiter was good, but slow, given there was no one in the restaurant. This place needs to step it up, or it wont be staying open for much longer.

I walked in to the bar, and it was empty. A very young chap was for a bartender there. What do these young know on how to make a martini, I thought. No warmth at all. No personal skills. I was Irriated, my feelings confirmed. I left. Bonefish in the other cities are some of the, best and favorite place for martini drinkers. Not this one. Please Bonefish IOWA HIRE a good bartender that can provide good service.

Over priced crappy food and tiny portikns. Service was ok but had stuffed talapia and was inedible. Atleast they didnt charge for food i couldnt eat. Ended up going to arbys for better food. Wife has shrimp and scallops which was ok but at $18 for 5 shrimp not a great deal. Only people trying to prove they can waste more money on bad small portions of food to impress thier friends should bother eating here.

I ate the fish and chips. The breading was not crisp and the fish tasted fishy. By the time I went to bed I had stomach cramps. I woke up at 11 pm sweating profusely. Then I threw up. After that I was fine, except for an extremely sore throat from wretching. There was something wrong with the fish and it made me sick.

Food is good but the waiter whose name is Adrian should just let people order their fish the way they want it and not the way he wants it. We ate in shifts because of his reasoning that didnt work and we knew it wouldnt. I think most people know how they like their food cooked!!

Bonefish is a great restaurant to go to when you are looking to have a fun night out in a great place with delicious food! As its name suggests, Bonefish serves an assortment of fish. Everything Ive ever had has been great. Make sure to order Bang Bang Shrimp!!!

I know this is a chain, but I absolutely love the food here. Almost all the appetizers are amazing - especially the bang, bang shrimp. And their Chilean sea bass is to die for. The only thing I havent been impressed with is their Sunday brunch menu.

Had a great dinner. Shrimp was fresh and great tasting. Dont come here if your tight on cash or want a McDonald fish sandwich. Fresh seafood done right. Love their asparagus. Great drinks. Plan some extra time to enjoy the dinner.

First time going and our server was great. She was very insightful and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. The food was perfect and well worth the price tag. Will definitely be eating here again!

Some of the best Seafood in Des Moines. I havent had it all, but its better than what Waterfront has to offer and is still the place to be for fish when it comes to the area.
