Filling breakfast food for decent prices About a 15-20 min wait on a Saturday morning around 11. Food: - Eggs Michael - sausage on the salty oilier side. Very filling. It came with 4 thin potato pancakes - they are not like latkas, theyre finely ground potatoes mixed in with a light pancake batter making thin crepe like pancakes - Andouille sausage skillet - lot of fried potato cubes, cheese, peppers and some sausage topped with a couple eggs and 3 pancakes on the side. Also oily, I mean it is fried potatoes, cheese and sausage, so you would expect that. Ambiance: - They have an outdoor seating area which is nice, but there might a lot of bees stopping by since youre sitting with a table of syrup - Indoors is wooden and diner-like

Tucked away off the main Rush street is the gem of a place for breakfast/brunch and even lunch. The prices are affordable, compared to its neighboring establishments, its decor is unassuming and homely and the food is simply fantastic. I was feeling like having lunch so I had the meat lovers skillet. I was just expecting a skillet but surprise surprise, it came with a side of pancakes! So I had the best of both worlds, their famous pancakes and a satisfying lunch. Something really unique that is worth trying is the "Dutch Garden". I have never seen or had a baked pancake before but this was really tasty! I would definitely order this the next time I go back.

Went here with a coworker after a night of drinking - food was not only a hangover cure but also excellent in every way: Bacon was nicely cooked to perfection (not burnt and almost a bit chewy), waffles were lightly crisp and soft with an excellent maple syrup, sausage links were very tasty, toast never burnt, and ample savory coffee. Oh, and the orange juice was freshly squeezed, yum yum. Just about the best breakfast...good thing I convinced him NOT to go to IHOP even though I love IHOP! And sorry SaraBeths in NYC...

Visited The Original Pancake House this morning for a Pancake fest that was out of this world. The queue was long, the portions were huge and the service was fantastic! THey kept the coffee loaded and there was no waiting too long for anything (even the humongous queue to get in, went down quickly!) My only critique (and the reason it does not get a full set of stars) is that the portions were toooo big and I would have liked to have paid less for a portion I was more likely to finish!

I was waiting with family to be seated and the hostess. Said she see us. But we never got a number . Meanwhile after 15 min another party came in she came back and was about to seat them before us same number in party. When we said something about it she had smart remarks and a tude. Also the other party. I feel if u cant do your job right seek other or get more training to do so. So I wouldnt return to this place ever again I will take my money else where.

This place has an amazing western omelet and the best butteriest pancakes Ive ever eaten! The salsa in between was like no other salsa Ive had before. This restaurant definitely earns five stars for me. It was worth the wait and its VERY affordable. The restaurant was very clean and the waiters were generous and had a very good sense of humor, I love it!! I WILL definitely return when I go take a trip back to Chicago!

If you come here for brunch in the summer make sure you sit outside, the wait is well worth it. I ordered a veggie skillet and it was very good. The potatoes were nice and crispy and not greasy at all. Lady friend got a scrambler and she loved it. Only problem with both our dishes was they were lacking vegetables. For a vegetable skillet and scrambler they could have thrown a for more veggies in it.

I grew up near another location of this place and they both rock (and have the same menu). For breakfast Ill always get banana pancakes and for dinner (though sadly no dinner at this location) Ill go for the veggie omelet. The line can be intimidating but it moves quickly. Incredibly cheap for brunch, especially compared to the touristy spots surrounding it.

Great food, lots to choose from. I had a veggie skilled with pancakes. It was filling and tasty. Not greasy at all. The service was lovely and friendly. She offered several times refills. I waited inside 15 min to be seated but very worthwhile. It is a family run restaurant. It seems that they will be opening a second restaurant on May 2017. I will come back.

I love their dutch garden and apple pancake. Portions are pretty big. I never finish it and always bring the leftover home. Service has been very good for two visits that I had there. Only thing is the waiting time. Usually you will expect to wait at least 10-20 minutes if you go there in the morning time even during the week. Weekend will be even longer.

This is THE breakfast spot! Frankly, we ate at Original Pancake House three of the four mornings we were in Chicago for a long weekend. There is always a line (out the door and around the corner!), but it moves very quickly and is worth the wait. My favorite: 49er Pancakes. Omelets are enormous, fluffy and delicious. Bottom line: You cant go wrong!

THE breakfast place on the Gold Coast. Usually a line and wait so going there on 12/26/11 I wasnt surprised. Small space so can get family style seating, but with 4 of us - not a problem. Nice menu options, but Philly has better bfast options (sorry). Yet, I give it high marks for the lightest, airiest egg white omelets Ive ever had.

Muy buen lugar para desayunar. Muy bonito el rumbo. Recomiendo el omelet de espinacas con queso y el dutch garden. La especialidad es un postre de manzana .

Although the wait line is always big, its worth the wait. The food dishes are generally big, you can share it. The food is beyond good. The meat skillet is awesome, as well as the apple pie. That signature apple dish is yummy but a diabetes plate, too much sugar. But who doesnt love that ( the sugar, not the diabetes)?

Pancakes, nuff said. This place is great for those of you who really want to eat breakfast all day. I usually go and demolish a few stacks and dont even regret it later. This is a busy spot though, so be prepared to wait it you get there during peak times. Its kind of expensive, but definately worth every penny.

This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the loop. The portions are large and the freshly pressed orange juice is delicious. I love the Swedish pancakes! My wife and I struggle to finish our portions once ordering. My only complaint is that I wish it were open longer...they close daily @ 3pm.

Spent to days in Chicago and the 2nd bay went for breakfast. We visited on a Sunday where we were warned about the queues . . . 30 minutes waiting for heaven! This place is pretty incredible, just wish I had more time here to try each menu item. Would defintely recommend to anyone :o) MJ

Wow!! Huge servings of delicious food for reasonable prices. My wife and I stayed at hotel across the street and went here for casual breakfast. We both got omelettes and they were great! We took them home and ate them again for a other meal bc they were so large. Will be back again!
