My wife myself and our two children 7 and 9 came into the restaurant 10 minutes before 3, their lunch menu ends at 3 and the dinner menu begins at 3 for those coming in after and dinner prices apply which are more than lunch prices. Our intention was to have lunch off the lunch menu with lunch prices and we were there before 3 we had placed drink orders before 3 however taking our time and trying to decide what we wanted and what the kids would eat it was 3:08 when we began to place the order at which time a female server who claimed to be the owner told me that I would be paying the dinner prices and would need to order off the dinner menu. I disputed her interpretation pointing out to her that we were there before 3 oclock and had already ordered drinks and she said I am the owner and this is our policy and I explained to her that if she was not willing to make a concession and allow us the lunch menu prices since we were seated before we would leave and we did. I had patronized this restaurant in the past but apparently this is a new owner and this is how they treat their customers I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will never be back again there are other restaurants in town that want your dollars like La Fiesta in Port Orange which has better food and a polite staff. To add insult to injury approximately one and a half hours later the Port Orange Police showed up at my door claiming I had threatened the owner of the restaurant when in fact I did not. The owner claimed I said I would be back as of making a threat when in fact I said I would not be back perhaps her english isnt that good. The police asked me my side of the story and that was the end of it I just thought people should know what they may be in for when they go to this restaurant.

I know how to cook, but I eat out nearly every night. Ive been coming to Maria Bonita regularly for over eight months. I waited to leave a review until I tried all the other Mexican restaurants in the county. There is stiff competition in the category and there are numerous competitors that would earn five stars until compared to Maria Bonita. The menu has twelve signature margaritas. There are eighty-four different regular menu items, a full lunch menu, and six desserts. Id like to take a moment to revel in the fact that if you came here once a week and tried something new and wonderful each time, this could be on your list for a good year and half. Maria Bonita is authentic Mexican cuisine at its finest. Just by walking in and sitting down youll get to taste the best salsa in the county. If you like it spicy, their off menu habanero salsa is beyond amazing. Its the perfect fusion of acidic, bright tomatoes, herbaceous, fresh cilantro, and sweet, yet spicy habanero. I literally dont know if I can live without it. As other reviewers have mentioned, your server might just be the owner. The staff is attentive and friendly. The ambiance is wholesome and transports you to a place youd rather be. I cant recommend Maria Bonita highly enough. The staff of other Mexican restaurants come here when theyre off. If youre craving spicy food and margaritas, this is your nirvana.

My fiance and I went to Maria Bonitas on Sat. night 4/23. Our waiter whos name was Daniel was very accomodating, very friendly and polite. I ordered Cheese Quesadillas and ordered extra sour cream but asked to omit the guacamole and salsa that comes with it. Since I asked to omit the guacamole and salsa I would have thought that the extra sour cream would take the place of the two, but when we got our bill that of which we spent $42.00 we noticed that we were charged $1.75 for the extra sour cream. Are you really serious? First of all, bad business! Since I opted for the guacamole and salsa I was still charged (which is a ridiculous amount) of $1.75 for the extra sour cream. Criminal!! I can buy a pint for the same price or less in the grocery store you are making major profit on that one, what a rip off!! But the main point is its not just the $1.75 but the principal of the thing. We did not tip Daniel well because he should have thought about the fact that I omitted the guacamole & salsa and not have charged us for the extra sour cream. Sorry Daniel about the tip but we were quite disappointed that you didnt take that into consideration, you were very nice and accomodating but you need to learn about business and how little things like this will also affect your tip.

I wonder if the people that are writing these awesome reviews are the same morbidly obese people I saw eating in this restaraunt. From the looks of it they dont ever think any food is bad. If you are looking for a stand-out authentic mexican cuisine do not stop here. If there is a restaraunt in the area that takes short cuts this is the one. Several beef dishes in my party contained old, chewy beef. If you order something fried you are going to get a rock of tortilla infused with oil and very little else. The only positive part of my meal was the amount of tequila in my margarita. It took our waitress almost 15 minutes to pick up our payment and return change after leaving our check... and that was at around 6 p.m. while the place was not busy. Basically, this is just another typical, over-priced mexican place. You can order a myriad of dishes which are all basically the same and are all over priced. If thats your gig, youll love it here. If you want higher quality, join me on my continuing quest to sample every mexican style restaraunt in the greater Daytona area.

Had an amazing experience at Maria Bonitas for Cinco de Mayo! Ended up there a bit by accident, being from Canada and unfamiliar with the area - but what a great meal and service! When we arrived there was about half an hour wait - when we left, people were still coming and lining up to get in. You might think the servers would get grumpy - but everyone seemed to be in great spirits, and provided excellent service. We had some specific dietary needs, which were very nice accommodated. We ordered fajitas - one chicken, one steak. Both were awesome. Very delicious and generous servings. Our server was running the whole time, serving many tables, but still noticed little details like getting us extra salsa and chips while we were waiting. She was upbeat and added to our enjoyment of the evening. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for great food and service. The menu is quite extensive - something for whatever you are in the mood for.

Came here last night with my son for Cinco de Mayo...everything was amazing! Although it was crazy busy, food still came out quick, hot & delicious ! Even the chips were hot! & service was amazing as well. My son is a big critic of restaurants because he is a cook & goes to culinary school, & even he was impressed.Plus we are Mexican! We went late, they were still busy & I know by this time staff must have been exhausted from a crazy, busy day, but everyone was still friendly, smiley & eager to please, very hospitable as Mexicans are! If the quality of everything was this amazing on such a busy day....I can imagine on regular days it must be above & beyond...though I cant see how it could possibly get any better! A big bravo to the entire staff of Maria Bonitas for an outstanding experience! Great job...I will be back! If there was a 10 star rating, I would have given that!
