This is quite an unusual restaurant; it serves quality chinese and thai food in a pleasant informal dining room, but it doesnt have waitress service. You pick your selection from a simple folded single-sheet paper menu, then go up to the cash register to order it. You are then given a pager, and when it buzzes you go up to collect your food. I ate at the bar, which was well-stocked with fine local ale, and had my order taken at the bar by the helpful and friendly bar attendant rather than having to wait in line to order my selection at the front desk. The food was plentiful and tasty - I had green curry with shrimp and chicken with brown rice. The sauce was a little cloying after a while, but overall I enjoyed my meal and came away satisfied and not a little surprised at the excellent value of the dinner. Last but not least, this restaurant is 20 seconds walk from the Longmont Holiday Inn Express, which is itself an establishment that I would not hesitate to recommend.

Pretty good food. But the name and the decor suggested an upscale restaurant with service by waiters and great customer service. Instead, we were handed menus, told to sit wherever, and to grab our own plates and utensils. At one point, we couldnt figure out if we had to bus our own table too. All this would be fine...except, the food is very expensive!! A meal for a family of four cost us $70. At that price, I could have gone to Boulder and dined at a much nicer restaurant. Also, the restaurant is connected to a salon and they leave the door open, so you can smell the chemicals from the salon while youre eating. Despite the bad dining experience, the food is fresh and delicious. Definitely, the best Chinese restaurant in Longmont.

Longmont Chinese Option does not disappoint. With the three of us and a toddler craving an MSG fix, we located the China Gourmet in Longmont, CO, our first Chinese food in our new burg. I got the Lemongrass beef with fried rice. The dish was spicy, proper amount of starch for mouthfeel and a power packed helping of lemongrass. Wow! Was it good. Egg roll was under fried though the innards were good. I got the wonton soup (beef broth based?) and liked it. Wife got the General Tso chicken. This dish was the hit of the night. Perfectly fried, perfect sauce. Sister got cashew chicken. Meh. A little to speedy for the quality, in this eaters opinion. Worth a look

The food is great, the service?? There is none. Its a new trend I guess. My family walked in to lady who gave us menus and said to sit anywhere and come to the counter and order when we were ready. Not only did we walk in 10 minutes before they closed, they were fast! But did not skip on quility! We will be coming back again. But maybe during lunch! The lady I guess the manager informed us that lunch has a bit smaller portions maybe easier to finish!

I walked in on an early Sunday night. I dont remember much after that. I sat down, our buzzing thing buzzed and we got our meal. It was very good. It reminded me of my glory days. The food was very well done, however the free candy when you walked out was gross. Please replace them with mints. When I become mayor I will promote this store. Overall this is the best place for chinese food in all of Longmont.

China Gourmet in Boulder is better. The Longmont China Gourmet needs to rethink the way people get their food. Its too big to make people walk back and forth to get utensils, plates, water, etc. They should hire hosts and waiters. The lady who took our order was pretty rude. We were the only people there and she couldnt find the time to make eye contact with my son while he ordered his food.

China Gourmet does Chinese for either side of the spectrum. You can order something healthy with lots of generously sized vegetables, or you can order the greasy authentic dishes. China Gourmet is run by smart, caring people who take their business seriously. It may be casual dining, but I was surprised by how thoughtfully the food is done and how pleasant the place is.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Boulder County for sure. An upscale version of the legendary China Gourmet in North Boulder. Same family owns it. Everything is great, atmosphere is good, service is quick, order at counter, hot food is delivered.

I got quite sick after eating here for lunch on a Sunday. For the price I would expect serving old food and giving your customers food poisoning wouldnt happen. They have clearly gone down hill since opening and the health department should investigate.

Red chilli chicken was crispy and tasted very good. The hot n sour soup was actually hot and sour :) (not the usual mess of soy sauce and tofu). Service is fast and food is reasonably priced. This is a great place to get a quick lunch on weekdays.

Best Chinese food in Longmont. They have great lunch specials that come with your choice of rice (white/brown/fried rice), a soup and your choice of wonton or egg roll. Ive brought 20+ people here before and everyone has always enjoyed it!

The food was very good, I enjoyed it. My issue was the rude staff. Maybe they are just having a a bad day, perhaps the dinner crew is better? Either way, what I think should.have been a good experience was marred...

I like the food. The atmosphere is odd since the music playlist seems to be on shuffle. Its also half self-serve where you grab your own forks, spoons, water, etc. So I never know how to tip. But again, great food!

Food was amazingly fresh and flavorful. Reasonably priced and worth every penny. Great selection of dishes for non-meat eaters and meat eaters alike. Nice atmosphere and service is very quick. Would recommend.

The food is likely the best in Longmont. Only complaint, one of the ladies up front however, is rude, frequently rolls her eyes at customers, and seemed very professional with a couple of hickys on her neck.

The fact that this is the lowest rated Chinese place in Longmont despite it being the BEST is proof that the people of Longmont wouldnt know good food if it slapped them in their stupid faces.

I have always had good food here, lots of options, and the sake is 2-for-1 every day! Were very glad this restaurant went in near us, as it has become our go-to fast-but-good food place.

Good selection of Chinese food. Includes native versions not found at most Chinese restaurants. I enjoy the Ma Po tofu a lot. Only con is they dont make anything remotely spicy.

Have eaten here several times with consistently great food. The best Chinese restaurant in town if not all of Boulder County. Prices are decent and portions are a good size.

Food here is always fabulous, especially the dumplings, which I order every visit! Price is a little steep but for the quality, its well worth it!
