We went in on a Saturday night, reserved a table online and were seated right away. Great start to a meal at a place that was new to me. First impressions are important and this was a good sign. We sat down and waited.... and waited... and waited. Waitress finally came by took our order and again waited for quite a bit longer than one would expect for dinner. We were finally served our food and was the wait worth it? In short, no. I had a build your own BBQ plate. Overall it was good, the brisket was very fatty though. Some people like gristle I suppose. Also having a thimble of BBQ sauce was a bit silly... but the waitress fixed that in a rare moment of quickness this visit. My wife had the fried chicken, which while well prepared and cooked was drastically under seasoned. The breading was basically flower and nothing else. Looked great however. My kids had an adult mac and cheese and kids mac and cheese. The adult plate was a hit. The kids plate was boofed and buttered noodles was what she got instead. The waitress did fix that right away but still charged us without offering some way to make it up to us. Some hospitality there... did she or the staff make sure the order was right? So after we finished the waitress disappeared and we had to flag down a different server to give us to go boxes... then more time passed and we finally got the bill. First she over charged for one item and second still charged for the item she and the kitchen got wrong. I do not want to sound entitled, but zero effort was made to right a wrong and likewise no effort was made to make sure the bill was accurate. I felt bad leaving any tip, but I did. I continue to regret this. So uneven food, abysmal service for a premium priced restaurant? I do not think there will be a next time and I would advise better restaurants similar to Southern Hospitality (Bonos or Mimis Cafe are miles better and in the area).

Update Sept 2015: We gave it one more try and enjoyed the basic smoked BBQ items including the brisket, hot link, ribs and chicken. Glad I gave it another shot, but see below re my first visit: Original review: I was real excited to go because I love BBQ and southern food in general. But it just wasnt too good. We started with the fried pickles which were the highlight of the meal. Thick cut and hot with fritter batter. The main meal was the problem. I had a BBQ plate with brisket, baby back ribs and a hot link. Everything on the plate had a faint taste of cleaning fluid. The ribs were so-so. The brisket was interesting – crispy and tasty - but overshadowed by the sterile aftertaste. The link was uninspired. The BBQ sauce was not bad. Most hilarious was the “Texas toast”, a $1.50 add-on that was a dry piece of white bread toasted…and that’s all. Cole slaw tasted funny and the baked bean were van de kamps with house sauce. One of my sons had the chicken and waffles. He did not complain, but he normally eats everything in front of him, he had just worked out and was hungry, yet he only ate half of it. The “steak and fries” was the funniest thing ever. $19...oh, and they were out of fries, so he substituted tater tots (really? "out of french fries"??). What he got was a plate of tater tots (like 4 servings worth), 4 ounces of sort of cut up sirloin and a blob of cheese on top that adhered to 5 or 6 of the tots. Ive never seen anything like that for $19. My wife had the salmon which was edible. I hope for local businesses in my community to do well and maybe ours was not the usual experience. We refused to order desserts and politely boxed our left overs and departed. Too bad.

Went there for the soft opening today with friends and the food is pretty good. The drinks were great. I have eaten at the downtown location before and really liked it. The brisket was a little dry, but that could be just because they were new and working out the kinks. The only problem I had was being profiled by the manager. He literally went up to every other table and spoke to them, and went out of his way to ignore our party. I even caught him looking at us a few times, and when I would look at him he would immediately turn his head. I think he thought my friends and I were just there for a free meal, and we probably wouldnt be back as paying customers. I have tattoos and so does my wife, and we just finished the grafiti run so I was in a sleeveless shirt and I am 27 years old. What he doesnt know is I also make $100K a year and would be his ideal customer if he just wouldnt make snap judgements. Oh well, it is what it is. I will return, but probably only to the downtown one because of that manager.

Have been there twice. Food is really delicious but service/hosts seems to be either bothered that youre there or dont even no youre there. The first time they were making us wait for a table. We had 6 adults and 1 child. After about 20 minutes wait we noticed they had several very large round booths open so we asked if we could sit there. The hostess seemed a bit surprised that we noticed the empty booths. There was another group there that had been waiting about the same time that also got finally at the same time as us in one of the other empty booths. The second time we were sat immediately but sat there for awhile before we flagged a server down. She was surprised no one had been to the table. We ended up also having to flag our server down twice to get to go boxes and asking for the check. They were not busy that night

Dont go right before close if you want fried chicken. Apparently it sits around already cooked. I was told they had 5 thighs left. When I got the food it was slightly warm, not freshly cooked the meat was dry and the batter was burned. 4 piece for 18 dollars then a hefty upcharge to get all thighs. Im still wondering how a 33 dollar meal for two with a tea turned into 54 on the bill. My friend paid and didnt keep the receipt but yeah I learned my lesson. I ordered lunch from door dash and that was a disaster (country fried steak came soggy and gross because they dont know how to put gravy on the side)so I thought I would go in and give them a chance. They flopped both times...

Good service, mediocre BBQ. We were pleased with friendly staff and prompt attention. Prices were high for what you got, and the bbq needs improvement (we just had ribs and brisket). The brisket was poor, seemed low quality meat and uninspired smoking. The ribs were good but not great. The sauce was good both the house and spicy varieties. We lived in Texas, and this does not scratch the surface of good bbq when just evaluating the meats. The happy hour looks like a good deal. We missed it, but will come back to try other menu items as some other tables had good looking food come out to them. Whiskey selection was very good.
