I immensely enjoyed the straight ramen noodles and rich tonkotsu broth. The chashu was average but satiating. #3-Spicy Yuzu was my favorite ramen. I enjoyed tasting the unique flavors--whipped cream ramen and matcha ramen (vegetarian)--but the rest of the ramen on the menu is essentially the main ramen with different toppings. I felt that the matcha ramen deserved some more vegetable toppings, since its broth is significantly less complex than the tonkotsu. The whipped cream ramen wasnt as heavy as I expected and worth trying for the potato-based, non-sweet whipped cream shaped as a pretty layer over a tonkotsu ramen. Edamame Cheese Senbei and the boiled pork cartilage were both appetizing and satisfying without being too heavy. I was surprised to see the automatic service charge for a table of 4, but the server was clear about it. Chefs and server were Japanese.

Cute spot. Its nice to have an option besides Totto or Ippudo in the neighborhood. I sat at the counter, so the service was very attentive, and the food came very fast. The broth game was really good, but about half way through, my noodles started sticking together. The pork bun was large and delicious (my picture doesnt do it any justice). Overall, I had a really good experience. Protip: if you go for lunch, dont opt for the lunch special, just get a bowl. It ends up being way too much food. They should really consider, adding the pork bun to the combo, instead of extra rice.

Delicious, flavorful, solid ramen spot in Hells Kitchen at the fraction of the wait time of Ippudo. I ordered the Yuzu-Kosho Ramen Lunch special. Great portion, spicy broth, noodles were just right. Knocking off a star because the chashu was not as savory and flavorful, and wasnt as tender. If youre just looking for a good ramen spot to satisfy a craving, you wont be disappointed here, but for out of town guests who want a particular "foodie experience," I would go through the long wait time at Totto or Ippudo.

I would rate this place 3.5 star if it was not in NYC where you can easily hit a ramen shop. The spicy one was very peppry and the ajitama was somewhat bored. The chashu was suprisingly chewy -- I never had chashu that was not tender so this is definitely worth noting. None of the items was impressive nor unique, thus I just couldnt find a reason to come back. The portion was comparable to IPPUDO which was really small to me. I feel IPPUDOs broth is more flavorful but it is also more expensive.

Ramen was great! However, I only gave 2 stars because there is an added 18% "service charge" in the bill!! I feel so bad when I saw it! I think you may just want to make sure you could get enough tips but it makes your customers feel that we are so cheap? During entire time, you only brought me a glass of water at beginning and then did not do anything else till I left. You should earn your tips but not rely on this American culture!

Great ramen, great service. We tried the matcha ramen and it was unique and delicious. We also tried the hakata tonkichi ramen which was very good. They do their egg right so Id recommend adding it if the ramen you order doesnt come with egg. Very small and started getting crowed around 1:30 as we were leaving (this was on a Sunday), however there still was not a wait for a table. Would go back & would recommend!

Thefood taste is ok but I hate service. Server asked me "Do you need change?" and I said "No." But she gave me change so I was supposed to leave my change for her. Then she asked me tips. "This bill is not included tips." She made me uncomfortable and embarrassed. Giving tips is not my duty. When I m satisfied with service, I always give it. I wont go here again.

If you love Ramen, this isnt the place to go. They only have one type of noodle thats "famous" for the place its from. As a lover of noodles and ramen in general, it leaves much to be desired. The waitress we had was not very polite either. It may have had to do with the fact she was the only server. Nevertheless, it wasnt a good first impression.

I had the vegetarian tomato ramen and I really enjoyed it. I like the texture of the thin ramen noodle and the flavor of the broth. Service was friendly very efficient despite the place being small in size. I like that the staff calls out the orders in Japanese. I will go back again to try the other things on the menu.

After spending a few days in NY, I really want to eat real Japanese Raman. I checked a Google and found this shop. This is a real Japanese Ramen shop. I tried Yuzu Kosho at lunch time with Mentaiko rice. It is a bit too spicy for me. But I love this Ramen. Next time, I want to try a standard Ramen in this shop.

Very good ramen! I had the Yuzu-Kosho ramen, the spicy option. The spiciness was just right, the soup was very good, the extras were tasty. The service is excellent, and the place looks really nice. As an important bonus, its not nearly as full of people as the other ramen places nearby!

Wonderful ramen spot tooth with great service. Pretty cheap prices as well. I slightly prefer Ippudo, but Ippudo is always packed with a huge wait whereas Mentoku had no wait at all. The only con Id say is that its cash only. Theres an ATM nearby, but it just makes it a little difficult.

The food is pretty good. Its no Totto Ramen but for the quality of food, texture of noodle, and basically no wait time on a Saturday night, its a good substitute. Surprisingly, I didnt get the popular matcha ramen or whipped cream ramen. Decided to go more conservative.

Instead of standing in a long line for the other more famous ramen places around here, we decided to eat here and have not regretted it. Wonderful broth with great flavor. Weve eaten at some nice ramen places when we were in Japan and this one did not disappoint.

Delicious! I got the hakata genryu ramen (original) with a soft boiled egg to go for lunch. Service was quick and polite. Knocked on star off because its a bit expensive. $16 for one regular size bowl of ramen with only 2 pieces of pork.

hit it for novelty: theres a *matcha ramen* topped with *potato-based whipped cream.* i have no idea how or why this was delicious. just make sure to throw down some heavy emphasis if you want the vegetarian option!

Like a scolded 8th grade class after the principal came through, this place is surprisingly quite. The broth is good, the noodles solid. I think in general it hits the mark, but isnt sublime.

True Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen shop with typical Japanese ramen shop style and taste. Ramen shop is originally small shop in Japan, unlike other true Tonkotsu Ramen shops in NYC like Ippudo.

Regular ramen is pretty good but nothing exceptional. But the whip cream ramen, though seemingly weird at first, isnt too bad. It turns the ramen to a creamy soup. Imagine chowder ramen.

This is the soup that I am looking for when I walk into a Ramen shop. The Yuzukosyo-Men was amazing. I dont know why 20 minutes after opening, this place wasnt packed yet, but it should!
