Food is fairly good, but the service is terrible. Rushing to have our menu back when we havenot finished ordering yet; kind of through the dish onto the table; dont listen to us finish our sentences when we want to give the changes of the bill, and when I hurrily want to let him stop walking away from me, saying “hello, hello”, i was told its unpolite to do so because he has a name. Okay, im sorry about i didnot say "excuse me". But before teaching me how to being polite, how about teaching your own staff first？

In the 80s when everyone had jobs in the Wall St. Financial District, this was the spot! China Chalet survived both WTC tragedies, the blackouts, the earthquake and the stupid MTA Union strike. The space lost alot of their luster, but the food is still pretty good and after-work networking with complimentary food samples in the bat area is always a charm. Eat in or order takeout lunch/dinner.

The food was really sloppy. I order a beef with broccoli and it taste liberality like s***. I asked them if I can get a refund and they said I already ate some and refuse to refund or exchange for a new one. I been in their restaurant at 79th St and the manger was just rude when I complain about the food was cold. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!

It is THE best Chinese food in the city. Hands down. Everything is just the best here and the service is wonderful. I could go into detail about every single way their Tsos Chicken alone is superior but itd be longer than an essay. If you were going to believe any review blindly, believe this one and just go eat there once.

We went to China Chalet, at 8:15 Yes I understand the kitchen closes at 9. The waiter rushed us to order and was a bit pushy. Once we received our appetizers food we did make a complaint that there were 0 scallions in the scallion pancakes. He then took our plates and said "Cancel order"... Bad service.

The price wouldnt be such a bother if the food was good. I ordered the shrimp with vegetables and the shrimp with cashew nuts to go on two occasions and I just wasnt satisfied. A+ for presentation but they can work on the flavor of their meals.

Best noodles Ive had if New York in the last few years. Got the dry duck mixed noodles and the bbq pork rice noodle rolls for appetizer with their housemade spicy mustard... Fantastic stuff. And great prices. Coming back here soon!

Nothing special. Chicken tasted rubbery. Got served low mein. As I started to eat it the server took it back from me and said it was vegetarian low mein for the table over frome me. Honest mistake but food wasnt all that .

We had to wait almost 10min for unattentive and incomplete service. Menus, cups, restrooms and kitchen were dirty. We got up and left shortly after starting this filthy journey which wasted 20 min of our lives.

Delicious Chinese food downtown. Excellent service. The location is very old, and in great need of an update, but has some old New York charm. Try the Mai Tais and the Ginger Fried Rice.
