Even though we left before we even tried the food I have a good reason to give them two stars. One because the staff was very friendly, two because the ambience of the restaurant was great. I was a bit disappointed on the lack of menu items unavailable. The waitress greeted us and served us water but upon greeting us she started mentioning what they where sold out of. Mind you, that might be a good sign that the food is so good that they cant keep up with demand, but it was a saturday afternoon, and it wasnt that busy since we where able to get a table fairly quickly. What surprised me most of all is that this tex mex, americanized mexican food fare restaurant did not have any burritos on its menu. I was left perplexed, no burritos in sight whatsoever....but despite the lack of variety I cant solely judge the place on that since ofcourse I didnt stay long enough to try the food. Instead I ended up going to a taco place in brookline that offered the goods I was looking for.

Wonderful place ran by hipsters for hipsters. Not "authentic" Mexican or south American food but a fun take on those foods. Many tapas - style dishes and a good selection at the bar. Small place and intimate and although it may not be an entirely unique or original experience its a very smooth and trouble-free one. Fast paced and energetic positive atmosphere. Good place to go for a drink or a quick bite.

Enjoy Tuesday Taco night which goes from 10-midnight. The tacos are very good with a selection of tasty tacos for $2 each. The tacos came out very fast for us and had options for vegetarians, seafood, pork, and others. The late night menu also had other snacks like chips and salsa. Service was friendly. We look forward to testing their full menu. There are no desserts for the late night menu.

I was very disappointed with the food here. I ordered a torta and it felt like generic bar food Mexican. The bread was particularly disappointing. It did not taste fresh and it felt like an afterthought. I believe I enjoyed my cocktail, but I dont remember which one I got as some time has passed. I am wary of returning to the place for a meal when I can get better food cheaper at Chilacates.

Great selection of draft beers. Cozy setting. The menu was a bit limited but the food was delish. The brussel sprout and cauliflower tacos were on point. Staff was friendly and helpful. The food came out as it was completed on the kitchen, which was awkward if you follow the social convention of waiting till everyone gets their food. Overall, well be back. Olé!

Great list of beers. Bartenders are great. Josh was the bartender tonight. Amazing job! Tell him youll have what he recommends. They wont let you down! Sangria,s are fantastic too! And as crazy as this seems at a Mexican place, the wings are great. Not buffalo wings, but an interesting style Ive never had. Great job!

This place is fantastic. They have hard to find traditional dishes like tlacoyos, tacos al pastor, etc, and they are very tasty. The ambient is very chill and the staff are quick and friendly. Also, fantastic selection of beers. Only problem is that its rather pricey, especially if you walk in with a big appetite.

Laid back atmosphere, friendly staff. Smart beer selection. This is not a Tex Mex place with heavy composed plates--tacos, tortas, snacks a la carte let you try different authentic flavors. Never seen tlacoyos anywhere else in boston and they are worth a try! Its all very good, if a little expensive.

Excellent food, low prices! Good selection of craft beers but they dont have a full liquor license. Space is tiny, wish it was a bit bigger because they are becoming very popular. The sweet potato empanada snack is the best! Very good margaritas, as well.

So glad to have another steady option in JP. Getting a table might be a little difficult, unless you go early. They have an extensive beer list and the menu gives you plenty of options for just nibbling while you drink or getting a full meal and dessert.

Tacos were decent and on par with other Mexican food in the Northeast...But do yourself a favor and order the nachos. The eclectic mix of cheesy goodness and crunchy chips will hit the spot and satisfy any cravings for Mexican food.
