Best Mexican food Ive had period. This place offers quality, authentic, Mexican food! The location is small & simple but also clean & presentable. At the end of the day, you wont care about the setting because they get two things down better than most do: Food & Service. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff works at an alarmingly fast pace in unison. They are always smiling no matter how many customers are in front of them. They are famous for their "Torta" which translates to "Flatbread" but is their signature Mexican sandwich. You must try it. They have it in pork, chicken, and steak but I tend to go for a chicken/steak blend. Dont be surprised if theres a long line at the front, as this place is quite popular in Medford. The prices are average and so are the portions. I promise service and tastes wise you will not be disappointed and will immediately be thinking of your next visit. For this review I choose to base it off of their food alone. For specifics, see below. Food: 5/5 Setting: 3/5 Service: 4/5

After a disappointing attempt to try and get clam chowder, we stumbled upon Tenoch Mexican serendipitously. Its a small joint, but they make some mean Mexican food. I ordered the campechana torta ($6.95), and it was fantastic. It was a kind of sandwich filled with carnitas, chorizo, beans, Chipotle mayo, avocado, tomatoes, cheese, onions, and chipotle sauce. Ive never had a torta before, but oh my gosh was it delicious. Its got the flavors of a taco except turned up to intense levels. Just one is a meal because its packed with stuff. The telera bread holds all the ingredients and provides a nice subtle flavor as well. The torta is intense and you experience all the spicy, salty, and sweet flavors at once in a bite. Its big and its complex. But its a must. If you stop in, you have to order a torta. Their other food is also really good, but their torta really stands out.

Tenoch Mexican Taqueria is authentic. When I walked in, there was a line stretching to the back of the little restaurant. But the three-man crew took and served orders behind the counter like clockwork, and helped me warmly in no time. I am extremely impressed by the small staffs fast and kind service. The food itself proved that master chefs dont just exist on Food Network. I ordered 2 tacos - one Carnitas (pork) and one Carne Asada (beef) - and I couldnt be more pleased. They came atop a soft corn tortilla, with cilantro, guacomolio, and onions. Limes came on the side. I wasnt disappointed. The flavor, atmosphere, and music colored the place with a delicious red. My friend got a Plato, with pico de gallo, black beans, rice, and carnitas, and was similarly thrilled about the experience. For its modest price and stylish furnishings, Tenoch is a comfortable must-eat.

On food alone: 6 stars out of 5. The only knock is for service (and maybe value). While both above average, it is, at the end of the day, a crap shoot if youll get exactly what you ordered in a timely fashion (for example, on my most recent visit I ordered 2 tortas and a corn, and they forgot about the corn; cant blame the language barrier either, puesto que pedí la comida en español). Still, the tortas are where its at. This places reps #TeamTorta hard. What is #TeamTorta? Order one and find out. Youll never order a burrito again...

This is the best Mexican in Boston. Service is fast and friendly, prices are cheap. There are about 12 tables in the restaurant and a fridge full of bottled beer. Its by no means flashy, but the food is worth the trip to this location, the food truck or North End spot. Make sure to head in before 11 a.m. to try the breakfast offerings, including an incredible chorizo burrito.

Better Mexican food than Ive had anywhere else on the East Coast. It even stacks up against stuff Ive had in Austin, TX. Prices are very reasonable (comparable to Chipotle), and the food is amazing (orders of magnitude better than Chipotle). The tortas are delicious. The place is a bit small, so I can imagine it getting crowded quickly during rush times, but its worth it.

Absolutely delicious, unique, cheap and most of all - authentic! Their tortas beat any burrito in town by a mile! The service is friendly and the food is always made fresh, right before your eyes. This is a family run business which has become a family favorite of ours! Try the Torta Tenoch with carnitas (braised pulled pork). You WONT regret it for a second!

This place is the real deal. Ive come here 3 Tuesdays in a row (I have a class in Medford), and this place has made Tuesdays the highlight of my work week. Fresh ingredients with exotic spices and flavorings, the best Mexican food Ive had in New England. Very comfortable atmosphere, and they even have beer. And the jarritos are always nice. Love this place.

The pictures and reviews looked good. We ordered burritos and tacos. They were very watery (too wet inside the tortillas. One customer asked what they should order and the cook recommended tortas. It really looked pretty delicious! Next time I will definitely try tortas ! (Hot Mexican sandwich) Same stuff in it as to burritos and tacos but hot sandwiches.

My favorite taqueria in the area. The food is of excellent quality. This location is much less busy than their Davis Sq. spot. One area for improvement: when they ask what you want on your taco, they dont specify any extra cost for certain items, and there is a surprise at the register. I wish they would be more upfront about that.

Better than Qdoba, Shitpotle and or any other mexican place around. I do hope they do not change. Right now they are small enough to still have the owner Alvaro overlook everything and make sure everything is 100% right and all but of they grow too much idk... might end up like every other mex place. I do love the food tho.

My first time walking into Tencoh was amazing. All I could smell was the authentic Mexican Quesine which tasted wonderful. I had a pulled pork bean and salsa burrito which was delicious. The pork was exquisite and the salsa was tangy and sweetish. The employees there are very social and kind to everyone.

This place is amazing. The workers are extremely friendly. Their tortas are just like I remember from my child hood in Mexico. Their regular dishes will leave you very full without hitting your wallet. If you have time to sit down and enjoy a nice cold Mexican beer you round out the whole experience.

The food there is absolutely incredible. The Tortas are something else entirely, better than any other sandwich out there. Pollo Empanizado is my favorite. Everyone there is awesome, and classic Mexican soda/drinks are served. Small place, but it has a lot of character. Home of the mouthgasm.
