They carve their own meats! So when youre ordering that beef brisket, or turkey, dont be surprised that it appears to have just been cooked not too long ago, and hand cut into thick slices onto your sandwich. They also dont use that much salt, if youre into that, too. Their vegetables are so plenty and so fresh. This is how serious they are. A few months ago, when summer started, I was here and I heard a guy come in and ask if they had anything like a quinoa salad they coudl make for his vegetarian wife, and the sandwich maker responds and says "Sorry, quinoa is not in season right now ... we have some baby collards coming in though for the summer. Itll be so good, were brainstorming ideas with what to do with it!" I was like.. WHAT? They just take what the farmers have. Also, this place has my favorite brand of chips ZAPPS. So points for that too.

Place was hard to find. The signage is quite small. I order the B4 as a wrap instead of on a Dutch crunch. I saw it being made and it looked soooooo Goooood. I was super excited. My boyfriend and I went hiking and found a nice spot to have a picnic. Once we opened the sandwiches, my order was completely wrong. It wasnt on a wrap at all! Super disappointed and was a bit spicy (I ordered it to not have any spicy stuff). I was already starving after hiking around so I just ate it. It was delicious, just wish I had gotten what I ordered. Those sandwiches were very pricey!! About $30 for 3 sandwiches. Extra $1 if you want a wrap. Would try again but Ill need to make sure I get what I wanted exactly.

Im a local and have been going to the Bait Shop since i was a little kid.(Live around the corner) I refuse to pay $12.00 for a sandwich. No i dont want the radish sauce, habenero, pink pickles. JUST A NORMAL SANDWICH that doesnt total at $15.00 after tax Lol. Typical Marin. Youd think Davey, being the local he is, would help out his not so wealthy local neighbors. This place is for tourist and bicyclist.

Best pulled pork sandwich Ive ever had. Go for the pork slaw or the BBC. Both excellent options. They toast the Dutch crunch and add just about everything to it making one unique experience. There arent many places to eat so you might have to take it to go and find a spot by the docks or something. The caprese is another great option if youre not into meat. Add habanero sauce for REAL KICK.

For $11 the flavor was nice if you wanted really expensive Cole slaw. The sandwich I got is called the pork saw. I couldnt tell how the pork was since there was so little of it. Seemed like 2 tblspns. Im a local and will never go back. This place is highly overrated if my experience is typical. Also, it seemed like the people making the sandwiches didnt really care.

You can have anything you can make up from the ingredients at hand or choose among the fun, sometimes eccentric menu. All healthy all the time and served with joy. Inside a party store so you can add chips, drinks and other less healthy items at will.

Another place that sadly loses a star because of its expense. Davey Jones is a victim of its own success... and the affluence of people who live in Marin. They make great sandwiches, but they just ask for too many dubloons.
