The pie is fantastic - I maintain that point of view. I was impressed by the way they handled my original poor review, due to service issues, so I have revised my original post (see later comments, which are still applicable, but I had not thought about it from their perspective). The manager contacted me about the post below and noted that in his mind not selling the whole pies to me meant that they could get more pieces of pie to more people (to lessen disappointment with the issue) which is a valid point I had not considered. Also, he conceded that they should have removed the whole pies from the patisserie display and managed inventory better around a major day like Mothers Day. Here is my original post and perspective in which I posted last week - Care more about profit than people - but good food and pie. I went in on the day before Mothers Day to get a pie for my wife on Mothers Day. As you can imagine they were down to just a few pies. However, they did have a Heath and a Grasshopper pie out in the patisserie display and when I asked to purchase them they told me that I could not buy a whole pie because they needed them to sell by the piece for dinner service that evening. I understand that you can make a lot more $$ selling pies by the piece than you could a whole pie to a single customer. However, if you are going to have them out there - they should be for sale. If you dont want to sell them from the patisserie display them please remove them. You can imagine I was pretty upset that they would do that to earn maybe an extra $10 for each pie. Businesses have to consider the long-run impact of customer service. I will not buy another pie from them so the $10 of profit they earned last night just cost them 10x that in the future. Congrats on your short-term focus on profits. Also, you might consider hiring someone to look into your inventory management so that you make a few extra pies before the major holidays.

My husband and I went to Wisconsin regarding business. On our way back home I decided I wanted to try apple pie somewhere there since I saw so many fresh apple trees in the area...I thought...the pies must be good here. We asked a local restaurant we had lunch at for their recommendation and they recommended Hubbard Avenue Diner. We were immediately greeted by Sam , he was friendly and extremely helpful in suggesting a few options. I ordered the apple pie, which I originally came for ...crumbled apple pie that is...and my husband decided to go with an option of Sams. Although not bad, the pie Sam recommended wasnt to my husbands liking...but Sam immediately replaced it with one my husband chose this time...well..the second one..my husband wasnt a fan of either..again..nothing wrong with the pie..i actually liked the second one ...but just wasnt what my husband was looking for...we didnt want to have Sam replace a second pie...but Sam came over to make sure we liked the pies we were tasting...and we let him know it wasnt what my husband was looking for but it was ok, not to worry about it..but Sam insisted to give us another one ..so i finally told my husband to go for the crumbled apple pie...which I was having...Sam packed one for us to go. He didnt have to care so much that we like the pie..but he did...he found it important that we drove all the way there to try their famous pie and that we left happy..and because of Sam..and that awesome crumbled pie...we definitely left very happy....i kind of wish i had gotten a large pie so i could be sitting here eating another slice now. I highly recommend you order the crumbled apple pie and get it warm. btw...they are very lucky to have an employee like Sam. We own businesses and we know the importance of having an employee that exhibits such great customer service.

Cheap Food & Bad Service. There was once a time going to Hubbard Avenue Diner meant skipping breakfast and lunch and eating a decent brunch comprised of things that could not be cooked at home and coming out satisfied. Those times are gone. Their ingredients have gotten cheaper and unhealthier over the years and their cooking is done by cheap help that is focused on volume rather than quality. First of the wait was 45 minutes and those are long minutes with a 2.5 yr old. No problem. Other hungry customers were so rude that they didnt allow my 7 month pregnant wife a place to sit on an empty seat between occupied ones. Probably racially motivated. No problem. They sat two parties who came behind us and claimed that someone had crossed out my name by mistake. Problem. They gave us a table that was still dirty and wiped it off with a dirty rag that left those white dry streaks. problem. The bacon strips were raw. Problem. My kids toast was burnt. Problem. My omelet was topped off with a can of diced raw cold tomatoes complete with water from the can, such that everything on the plate was soaking in tomato water. So basically take an omelet, hash-bowns and toast now put them on a plate which has 1/2 inch of tomato water....yum what delicious brunch. Not. Asked the waitress to change it and she said thats how it is served. It has basically turned into a cheap food place with lots of fat obnoxious customers. Never going back.

s like Ive stumbled into my own "breakfast porn" spot. Dont get me wrong as there is not sex involved, this place just has a lot of what makes me... Comfortable. To start, I could have been subjected to the hotels $12.99 cattle call breakfast "buffet" but fortunately there wasnt a single seat available. The front desk person sent me here, and for that I owe her a debt of gratitude. A new building, designed as an Art Deck dinner, they got that spot on for the casual art and Architecture buff. Equipped with an expansive wrap around walk up/sit down counter and expansive natural lighting and better yet... They supply coat racks... Holy Crap Batman. No one does that anymore. Got her on a Sunday mid morning and was able to park right outside the front door. So either this packed place has ample parking OR they have a nice size parking lot

This was my first time visiting This location. My guest and I werent acknowledged while we waited to be seated. There were 2 people up front and 2 servers behind the counter. The side salad was your typical side salad but served in a large dish to make the salad look bigger. I had to chase my salad around the dish it was served in. My guest and I had the garden turkey burger which was ok but we agreed it tasted like the frozen turkey patties we buy from Costco... We both couldve just ate at home. The atmosphere was nice, that typical diner feel. I didnt like that the person bussing tables parked her bussing cart next to us where we can see everyones dirty plates while we ate. Overall, service was fast and friendly.

Truly awful. We ordered "meatloaf of the gods" with mashed potatoes and veggies, along with "mother hubbards chicken pot pie" with warm apple sauce. With complete honesty I can say the hottest thing served to our table was the warm side of apple sauce. Im not sure if the recipes used for the meatloaf or the pot pie contained a single seasoning or even salt. Everything was bland and underwhelming. Also, we ordered pie expecting that at $5/slice the helping would be heaping- the pie itself was mediocre (we got two different slices) and it was also disappointing portions for the price! I want to warn people against going here, if I could give a rating of 0 stars- I would.
