I just moved to Madison from Burlington, VT and have been struggling to find good, local food/drink options that arent downtown. Java Cat really has the sort of vibe that reminds me of Burlington. Super friendly staff and just a good feeling while youre there. I havent had their plain coffee, but I have had some of their espresso drinks, like the Cafe Mocha. I dont personally think theyre strong enough, but theyre not bad. The baked goods are really great! But theyve usually run out of chocolate donuts when I get there :(. Parking is tight, and its always super busy/noisy. It tends to feel cramped. I think it could use a redesign inside. But all in all, I enjoy Java Cat quite a bit :).

If you love great - then you will not be disappointed. The coffee is smooth, the homemade soups are filling and very tasty. But it is the Gelato that pulls me across town on "errands," whereby I can stop for a sweet treat. Made in-house daily - there are constant Java Cat Originals in the Gelato freezer. You can even drive through - but Id recommend taking 10 minutes to enjoy the cool bliss.

They have a great variety of coffee and tea. They also have soup, salad, sandwiches and bakery items such as muffins, scones, cookies ect... Friendly staff and great atmosphere. They also have a drive thru for coffee, tea and food on the go. Would have given it 5 stars, but there were crumbs all over the floor, but I may have come just before they swept. Other than that, it was great.

The environment was so chill there, I wouls absolutely recommend to others looking for a great coffee house. I was a bit unsure of what to order, but the barista was super patient and helpful in my decision. I ended up ordering a carmel macchiato and a chicka chicka boom boom and it was incredible!!! Ill definitely be back!!

Fantastic. Amazing staff are professional and warm. Best drive through espresso in town. Inside, its clean and comfortable for all, with a cozy woodstove for chilly days. The coffee, chai and food are top notch, and the bakery selection on point. This is a treasured neighbor gathering spot where youll feel welcome.

Java cat is the greatest coffee shop in Madison. The staff and owners are super-friendly. The prices are reasonable. The food and bakery is delicious! The coffee is amazing! And the Wi-Fi is fast and free :D they also offer computers so you dont even have to bring your laptop. I give it an A+++++++++++++++

Sweet little local cafe with good lattes and tasty food. Also gelato, which is kind of pricey but nice to have in the area (and free on your birthday!). Service can be slow (depending on whos on staff) so dont go if youre in a hurry, but if you have time to linger its a very pleasant atmosphere.

This place is the best!! They have a drive thru, a good variety of drinks, and unique gelato flavors. Sometimes theres a guy who play his guitar in the corner and its super chill. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and this is my favorite coffee shop in Madison :)

Java Cat is our favorite coffee shop in Madison hands down. The gelato is the best weve had in the states and theyre constantly cycling in new flavours. The location is comfortable, fun, and funky. The baristas are friendly and helpful and the coffee is delicious.

The sandwiches are very delicious. I will drive out of my way for one of them. It is a popular spot yet quiet enough for reading or working on your laptop. Staff are always very friendly. My favorite meal is tuna melt, cherry Italian cream soda and a mocha! Yum.

The gelato and the drive through make this place pretty unique and great. The coffee offering is espresso and air pot. I dont drink coffee unless there is a pour over option. Disney soundtrack is playing on speakers, I dont notice the cat theme quite as much

How is it still possible for a cafe to not serve vegan options? Not even mark things appropriately? Staff couldnt even attempt to make me a non animal product sandwich as they cant attest to whats in their products. Lame. Get with the times.

Food is great and a great price! The latte I had was definitely good, just not sublime. Not at much cat decor as I expected from their description, but Im not a huge cat fan anyways. Just here for the food and coffee.
