Thing is with hooters, and it seems corporate knows this because most of them are like this, the friendly girls are what makes the experience good. The east side one is consistent in their hires, they always have girls there smart enough to know why guys (and girls!) come in. They understand some guys just want a nice girl to talk to without taking the chance of walking into a bar full of dudes with some dude serving you a beer. Not too many people go there for the food, thats for sure, and you can get a cheaper beer at almost anywhere... but when youre a single guy or someone who hates his wife, its so nice to just walk into hooters and know a pretty girl will be there that will at least act like youre friend. If you find bad service at hooters, its probably because youre a dick or you smell like one. I REALLY wish hooters would step up their food quality... but that is a corporate problem because all hooters are like this... just some normal bar food, way overpriced for what you get. But just stick with the large beers and friendly smiles and you cant go wrong. I have found the madisons east side one to be a real nice place to just go have a beer and say hi to whoever is working there... and because some of the girls have been there for a long time, they usually know you the next time you come back too. only 4 stars because of the food. otherwise, the girls are great, the tvs are everywhere and the place is clean and well lit. corporate- get some quality food in there and the place will be packed every night.

Not sure what happened to Hooters, but it went crashing down hill fast. Went in for a to-go order. Ordered a Crown n Coke, while we waited because it was packed and late. They had Pepsi, which was fine. Get the drink and it tasted weird. Talked to the waitress, and come to find out, the bartender ran out of Pepsi and substituted it with Diet Pepsi! I wasnt informed, or given a new option, but I sent it back. It took the bartender forever to remake it with my preference for a mixer of Dr. Pepper. Then as with the other reviews on here it took an hour to get our To-go order, the waitress was great, girls were smile but the experience was actually a 0 on stars. When we got it the fries were old, cold and bland. We had to ask someone about our order after watching everyone clear out and our order had not arrived yet. We were told that the Assistant Manager was complaining about redoing the fries, because we were taking them home anyway, so why did it matter? It matters because we paid a nice ticket and tip for a Carry-out order and waited for a long time. Which is the most unprofessional conduct I have seen in a while. After all that, not offering to discount on crappy service, cold fries, wrong drink and the lengthy time. We ordered wings and fries. That was it. It was packed in there for the fight, but thats no reason to misinform and not offer goodwill to customers who are paying a hefty price for hot food.

Well... other than the service being the worst I have ever experienced in all my years on this rock, and Theresa, a waitress at Hooters on the east side of Madison being the only person Ive ever felt the need to tip .$0.02 in my entire life (and I never tip less than 20%)... Id say it was a satisfactory experience, but then Id be lying. Thanks, Theresa. Your horrible service and rude comments makes me think less of you and the establishment you work for, despite your managers attempt to gloss over your inability to be a human being. Even worse, your manager was doing your job for you after he noticed you werent. Normally when new people join a table, a waitress notices and provides service, but rather you waited for your manager to notice these people looking around for over 20 minutes. Thankfully he then decided to step up for you. Im guessing since you came over after and tried sweet talking the new people, you were talked to about your folly. Also, since your manager pointed out in our discussion that the establishment was far from busy and we were only 1 of what appeared to be 2 tables for you, there was no reason for this. The 5 people at my table that you offended later with your rude comments appreciate your transparency. What do they say? 1 person lost = 10 people in the end? Ouch, Theresa. Id explain that complex equation to you, but... well... sigh.... bubblegum and pixie sticks.

The service was great, all the girls were friendly as you would expect, the food was good, nothing special, but overall the experience was not a good one. Myself and a large group of friends had planned on spending the evening there to watch a wrestling match, but after 2 hours of eating and taking turns buying pitchers, we ask for another round of shots and the waitress said she had to cut us off. Her manager had her do some figuring on how much we ordered and came to the conclusion that 2 beers and 3 shots apiece (minus the DD, who was completely sober) was enough for us. Nobody was being rude or even exceptionally rowdy, but we asked to talk to said manager, and she said no, she had to shut us down. The whole atmosphere just turned bitter at the way the situation was being handled and even several tables next to ours were in disbelief. Talk about a buzz kill.

Id give it 0 stars if I could. We had a group of 15 people. It took 30 mins or more to get our first drinks, 1 hr 15 mins to get any appetizers & we were pushing 2 hours and only 4 out of 15 people had their food. And people were still missing appetizers and no 2nd drinks or even water. We tried talking to management but they didnt seem to care only noted the kitchen was backed up but thats not our problem. And then the wait staff was so rude. We will be writing to the franchise owner as this was totally uncalled for. If drinks & appetizers were on time and brought out and we were informed of the back up in advanced we may have been a little more understanding. People around us were even getting up & going elsewhere because they had waited 20 mins or longer before anyone came to get them a drink or even water. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE place. We got up & walked out.

I asked for a pitcher of Coors, and they wouldnt allow me, an entirely sober individual, to have one. When I asked why, the ugly bartender Becka said she just couldnt, and then gave me a beer. I asked how many oz. of beer was in the pitcher, and she snapped at me saying I dont want to lose my job. I asked that to know how much to buy in order to get that amount, but after my second beer I asked for a third and she said that I couldnt have one. I ended up having 5 more drinks nearby without being "intolerable", but Hooters couldnt handle me asking for a pitcher. I used to be a regular here, but this place lost its luster.
