Nice atmosphere upon entry. No one was there when we went Sunday at 530pm (which was strange, rose a red flag). They treat you to hot tea and a crispy finger food after you sit down. There is a communal sauce that you can use for dipping (its little gross becuase I dont know how long it had been sitting there). We were never asked what we wanted to drink but the server brought us waters anyways, which was nice, i guess. Food was brought out to us quickly. Vegetables were fresh and the chicken was fried crispy (it was good). There was a little too much sauce, however. About half way through our meals we begin to hear a clipping noise adjacent from our table. Turns out that the server was clipping her nails as we were eating.... (vomit). We lost pur appetite and left shortly after. I peaked into the kitchen and it appeared to be very clean (which is a plus). After this service, I will probably not be back. A lot of restaurants in Shepherdstown are great, however, this is not one of them. Food = 6/10, Service 4/10, Atmosphere = 7/10. Better luck next time China Kitchen. You are almost not worthy to set up shop in downtown (not being rude, but, you are giving Shepherdstown a bad name).

This is one of the best Chinese restaurants Ive eaten at in this area of the country. The Chef/owner is excellent, and their menu is quite diverse. Their hot and sour soup is probably the best Ive had anywhere. A few years ago I would have given them a 5+ star rating, but it seems to me that the consistency of their quality has slipped a bit in the last few years and the food just hasnt had the same (consistent) wow-factor for me. Still better than any other Chinese restaurant (that Ive tried) in the greater Hagerstown-Martinsburg area, though. Also, very fast service, and reasonably priced. Extensive lunch (special price) menu.

The general tsos was dry and old. The broccoli was over cooked and yellowish. The sweet and sour chicken was over cooked and dried out as if it were sitting in the warmer too long and was dropped back in the oil to heat it up. The only saving grace was the pre-made frozen egg rolls and the steamed rice. We have eaten from here before in the dining room and it was fine. But tonights take out was awful. We usually eat Chinese from Martins in Martinsburg but tonight we were in Shepherdstown and figured wed pick up from there for convenience.

Food was awful! I ordered the Dragon & Phoenix and the fried dumplings. When I went to eat the dumplings, I noticed the bottom was so burnt that it was actually black. When I bit into one of the dumplings, I couldnt even taste the dumpling itself. All I tasted was burnt food. As for the Dragon & Phoenix, I was thoroughly disappointed in it. The sauce tasted awful and the veggies, shrimp, and chicken were soaked in said sauce to the point that it overpowered their taste! Next time I want Chinese, Ill go someplace else.

I was new in town and would normally just go home after I was done with classes for the day. One day a friend asked if I wanted to go witg him to get Chinese. I didnt even know there was a Chinese place in town, so we went and it was amazing. best food ive had in a while and ive been a regular for 2 years since Then. I go atleast once a week.

Three people, midday. Not busy, maybe 3 other tables. Took forever to order, but chatted with members in my party. Edamame was cold, but thats the way they serve it, apparently. Another didnt think soup had much flavor. Fair meat steamed dumplings. Just kind of disappointed overall. Wont be back, ever.

Good place for the College students at Shepherd because its very cheap. Its not the best Chinese restaurant Ive eaten but its not bad at all (better than eating at Shepherd Universitys dining hall). The only problem is their decor; its pretty boring and dull, it needs an upgrade. Other than that its good

Okay, so ive lived in shepherdstown all of my life (Im 16) And my mother works at shepherd, so eat in town a lot. I love the food, and sure the people arent VERY friendly, but they make excellent food. And Im never scared to go in there.

Greatest Chinese food in the area, but the staff is hit and miss. Theyve forgotten our sides before, and I recently called to ask if they would be open today and they said yes, however when I showed up they were not. Very disappointing.

Hot & sour soup was a bit too sour for me, but I still liked it. The veggies were extremely fresh & crisp, and my lo mein was good, but the rice was a bit dry. Very fast and good service, and great location!

Somtimes the food is ok but the attitude of the younger woman working there makes it not worth it she is consistently rude and has no customer service skills do yourself a favor and font go

I ate here every week when I went to Shepherd. The food is delicious. The service is OK, but food is pretty good for the price.
