Dont order salad as you get pushed far back into rotation. Owner has bad attitude because we took issue that the salad forced 5 kids to starve. Many people had come eaten and left before our pizza was even made. Seinfeld fans think "Soup Nazi" . We did get our money back though. *** Response to owner Its not acceptable upon asking 3 times politely where our pizzas are to be scolded that we dont understand the system, (duh "salads get made first then you get in line for pizza") while a group of 6, 2, and 5 arrived after us (even after 7:30 when no more pizza sign went up) received their pizzas. Apparently we were supposed to be patient while enjoying our drinks and salad! Our apologies for not getting the memo. I realize this is your first restaurant so a bit of advice, dont tell parents what they should be doing, focus on putting the customer first. You had 3 occasions to explain (as we pointed it out of others getting their pizza before us ) or apologize for the delay. All we got was a tirade at the end about how everything was on 1 ticket and there was a salad and the oven only allows 3 pizzas at a time in which your husband slammed down our refund receipts. Your note tells us that customers should be so privileged to eat at your establishment. Maybe that is the case, if so, at least have some fun. The chef could smile at least once, especially since he is the center piece along with the wonderful brick oven.

3rd Review: Tried to eat pizza here 3 times this last week: (1) stood in line for 5 minutes to get a pie to take away, but gave up as 1 of 4 staffers working was at counter, was giving a customer multiple wine tastings; (2) out of pizza dough before 8pm to walked away; and (3) its Sunday and the family is tired and hungry...they are closed...so frozen pizza as plan B. (Yes everyone needs a night off, just frustrating since we live across the street and like a good pie after all the false starts this week). 2nd Review: Down grade to 3 stars. Went by tonight and they were out of dough for pie agaIn. Word on the street is this happens a-lot. Not sure if They are being Over hIp or just buying enough groceries to cover that day. Word to the wise - eat lunch here or have a back up plan if its dinner. Will update as time goes by... 1st Review: Nice tasty traditional pizzas. My review would have been 5 stars if they had an option of larger pizza size. The small pies make it pretty expensive as a family dining / to go option ... other than an occasional special treat. Best of luck.

Ok. It was fantastic. I hate hipster environment. I immediately got my haunches up when the chef refused to "specialize" the order. Then I received the pizza. He was right. The pizza was balanced perfectly. Completely right. Holy crap this man can cook. It is not often I enjoy my meal with a side of crow. To make sure I had there last slice of chocolate cake. Chocolate cake my ass. It was a butter brushed chocolate pecan torte with sea salt. Damn it my first impression was wrong. What is worse is that he came table to table to introduce himself, humbly. Hes a cooking artist and humble about it. The environment is hipster, not poorly done, just hipster. Im not a hipster fan. I would eat food this good in a dumpster heap, and smile.

To date, this is hands down the worst pizza Ive ever had. I LOVE woodfired, thin crust pizza. This was a greasy, soggy, and improperly cut variant of such. The slices of prosciutto were huge, too tough to bite through, and accompanied by only two "blobs" of cheese. Our side salad was pretty decent flavor wise - but had a weird, almost rancid tasting, "blob" of cheese in the bottom of the bowl. And to top this off, we spent $50 for two people to have a simple pizza lunch? I understand the "all of our stuff is local, fair trade, blah blah" rhetoric - but if your pizza is soggy and tastes bad, then those quality ingredients are for not. Bad music played on expensive instruments is still bad music. Sorry........

Delicious, creatively inspired pizza. Felt like a place that would "make it" in Portland, unlike most of the downtown Vancouver restaurants. I went for lunch and had great service (I live in Portland and am used to busing my own table). The prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Its great to see some quality restaurants opening in downtown Vancouver (ie: The Grocery, Willems, etc.) The space feels intimate, and the room has an open concept with large windows. I highly recommend this place, especially considering the lack of quality restaurants in downtown Vancouver.

I came here yesterday and had the vegan pizza. The dough was really good, but the ingredients were a really bizarre combination--for example, the pizza had small slices of lemon with the rind still attached on top of a pool of pesto which was...not great and difficult to pick out. The sunflower seed cheese had the taste and consistency of hummus which was not what I was expecting or wanting (most vegan cheese Ive had, like cashew cheese, is formed into a slice-able wheel and would make more sense). Im glad they had the vegan option, but really wished it was a little more thought out.

My husband & I had never been to this place before to eat till today. The owner called are company to have us clean their wood fired pizza oven for him. The place had been closed for two days when we showed up that Monday to do the cleaning & you could still smell the aroma of the pizza which smelled extremely delicious. So today we decided to go out & try their pizza & we are so glad we did. The women working were very polite & made you feel very welcomed when you walked in the door. The food was great & I would recommend this place to anyone looking for real New York style pizza.

Best wood fired pizza in Vancouver by a long margin. The dining room is kinda small and often crowded, but is worth it. The menu contains well thought out combinations, the crust comes out crispy and flavorful. Cant say enough about how much I enjoy it. The hours here are convoluted and its irritating that they are closed Sunday and Monday, I have been on my way here so, so many times only to realize they are closed. I also dont like having to bus my own table, its awkward... Thats a small thing though.

I didnt actually get a pizza. It looks fantastic but when I asked for mine well done, I was told they only do it one way and they wouldnt. I wasnt nasty or impolite about it but they acted like they were offended by my request. There was no need to be rude about it which they were. I may have stayed and tried it their way if I didnt get the attitude. I eat 10-14 meals a week in area restaurants, I will be fine with eating elsewhere.

Fantastic food, super friendly service and a beautifully minimal ambiance. Great spot to bring someone you want to impress! We ordered a delightful spring salad made with ingredients from the farmers market that morning. We also ordered three pies, the prosciutto was excellent and the special, a green garlic pesto with sheeps milk cheese and chilis, blew our minds. Exciting to see restaurants of this caliber opening in Vancouver.
