We really wanted to like this place. The view is amazing and the atmosphere seemed great when we walked in. But thats where anything good stopped. The service was awful. It seemed well enough staffed and definitely should have been able to handle the work (the establishment is on the smaller side). It took a long time to order a drink or even get a menu to look at. We asked to be seated outside and was told it would be a twenty minute wait which we were fine with. We sat down at the bar but watched as another couple that just entered was led outside before we were called. All tables outside were constantly waiting for service, just as we experienced. When we did finally get it food, it wasnt bad but Im sure would have been much better if it were still warm. It was already room temperature by the time we got it. Overall a very lacking experience and extremely disappointed.

Booked the private room last year for a private party for July 2013. Tried the food and it was good. Had to reschedule the event to February 2014. Owner confirmed the rescheduled date and scheduled a meeting to set the final plans 2 weeks before the event. Owner was a no show and after several calls to friendly staff and leaving several messages, Owner refuses to call us back. With a week before the event, we had no choice but to schedule another venue. Owner is very unreliable, seems like a nice guy, but completely unreliable. Staff has always been friendly and apologetic. Dont know how long he will last if he throws away a large event like ours. So much for our deposit. BEWARE!

So much more welcoming when it was Jakes. I went for lunch during the week with my girlfriend. I just wanted something quick and inexpensive, so I got the nachos because most places theyre cheap and filling. $10. Big portion. I asked for extra beans, but the way the cheese (real cheese, btw) was on, it didnt really hold the beans on the chips. I had to get a fork and pick the beans up and put them on each chip and make a mess. Pico was good. Could of been a bigger serving. So...nice view. Pricey for lunch. Staff was meh. Might go back for dinner and try again.

Poor service, poor quality food, inflated prices! The view was beautiful, but it wasnt worth the awful service and outrageously priced items on the lunch menu. For a party of four, we wound up with a bill that was shockingly over $80...for lunch. And to top it off, the food was average at best. And thats being generous. The prices could easily be cut in half for the quality of what theyre serving. I would not recommend eating here, especially if youre looking for a relatively inexpensive spot. So not worth it!

Food is great! The service sucks. Ive been here a couple times and the last time we left and went to the RAM in Lakewood just because we were ignored as we walked in and waited for fifteen minutes without a greeting. It was ridiculous. Seriously, if Topside worked on their customer service... it would be a really great resturant.

Food was ok. Not over the moon great. WAY overpriced, way way way overpriced. Customer service is not great either. Lack of communication with the table. At lunch time rush it took over an hour to get food, with nobody coming back to the table to check on us in between. Ended up having to get all the food boxed up to go.

Mediocre food. Nachos were good, street tacos were boring, Cobb salad was a joke. Decent beer list Edit: The $15 four shrimp, 2 chunk avocado bowl of lettuce, was robbery. Changed my review from 3 star to 1 when the bill came. Side note, the service was amazing! Too bad the kitchen staff isnt on the same level.

They are not good people to never let the hostess have there tips or have there day off. I heard one of the hostess look sad an tired with all the pain. But if the boss fired my sweet daughter Ill tell the police and people that your a horrible place you are. Boss or manager are not being nice to my daughter.

Had lunch here this afternoon. We sat outside on the deck. Nice view and pretty day. The servers and staff were very nice. Food is decent but prices are higher then ought to be for what you get. All and all we had a nice lunch and enjoyed but Im not sure we would go out of our way to go back.

Make sure you bring a fly swatter for sure, and most definitely I would bring something to cover your glass especially if drinking wine as I was, lots of fruit flies, it terrible, I was constantly swatting at flies, and found fruit flies in my wine! Seriously doubt I will come back here!

I would vote this place "best spot to watch the sun set in summer." Food and drinks are very good and the staff is friendly. The space is a little tight making it feel crowded and hectic. If you want a table outside for sunset, be prepared for a wait, but it is definitely worth it :)

Best Sweet Potato fries EVER! The fresh vegetables were cooked perfectly. Bartender was eager to please. However, I felt ignored on the deck and so left the amazing views to get some food. I would definitely recommend this place if you can be patient with the service.

Food was okay but expensive. The service was good but it was not a busy hour, but she didnt seem confident in the food being served. Atmosphere was good, nice view. Would not go out of way to come here, and would probably try a different place if I was back in the area

One of my favorite spots for a calm dinner with good beer, good food, and good views. The location is awesome, with sprawling views of the sound and a rooftop for the summer. The team is friendly and take pride in the sense of community at Topside.

Love this place. The food is delicious and is so fresh! If its a nice day outside, you may have to wait for a spot to open up on the patio because it is the spot to be at Topside. You get a beautiful view of the sound and mountains.

It is what it is… The best viewing deck in the South sound… good food… a staff that obviously loves their work… Fantastic banquet room for special occasions with the same great view. If you havent been there youre missing out.

You need to try to cheesecake there! Soooo good! Someone who works there makes it homemade! Best cheesecake I have tasted! The menu can be a bit pricey for selected items though:/

Great tap selection, excellent fish and chips, beautiful view of the sound. My mom-in-law claims their Bloody Mary is the best shes had in her life thus far.
