i am so proud of my husband, Zack Reinig, the owner of Union Coffee. this beautiful little shop is bright, happy, clean, and full of smiles. its only been open for a week, but its already a sweet little community spot, and i cant wait to see what it becomes. Zack has been making me delicious coffee every morning for seven years, and this shop is really an extension of his most attentive, tweaky, gregarious, and passionate self. Zack was a record producer and sound engineer in the independent music industry for 15 years working with bands like Built to Spill, Black Heart Procession, Blonde Redhead, Sleater-Kinney and the Shins, and brought an intense passion to the build-out of the space. the ceiling is audio engineered for perfect music listening experiences, and Zack is hoping to spend some evenings every month playing music in the loft, and inviting people from the neighborhood for sessions. (i cant wait for people to see his beloved "gear!") Union Coffee is a great spot for getting a little work done, your quick morning coffee stop, coffee dates, and families, too. the hot cocoas are made from molly moons hot fudge, and our daughter, February Moon, and i spend most mornings having yogurt bowls or hard cooked eggs and chocolate croissants. we hope to meet many friends at Union Coffee, new and old, for years to come.

Bright and airy with a focused menu, Union Coffee is a great addition to the neighborhood. It seems more like a place for coffee tastings and sitting to savor, but the service is so personable and eager to please that it lacks the snobbery usually associated with fancy coffee. Their hot chocolate has also become a new favorite morning treat for my 3-year old. The upstairs, when finished, looks like a promising work space and while I thought it would be echoey, the acoustics are surprisingly warm in such an open space. Looking forward to trying it out this winter when the weather turns gloomy.

Great drinks and snacks to go with them in a really comfy, clean environment. They play upbeat music, but its not at an extreme volume so you can have a nice conversation or get work done easily. The employees were really friendly, and there is a rewards program!
