My wife, son and I went to Stir. We ordered appetizers, and several entrees. The egg rolls were quite good! The Fries 3 ways did not taste good. Entree #1 was Yellow Curry, it tasted NOTHING like yellow curry from any other place I had previously had the dish. Most oriental locations I visit, I start with yellow curry to set a baseline. This curry did not taste or smell like curry at all, included ingredients that were odd for the dish ( I have no problem with experimentation, but if its a total failure, dont sell it! ) and did not taste or smell anything like curry. Further, the chicken was poorly prepared. It was a mix of light and dark meat, it was stringy, and felt over cooked. #Entree #2 was Pad Thai, it also tasted NOTHING like Pad Thai from any place my wife had previously ordered it from. She also has a habit of ordering Pad Thai to get a base line for a new restaurant. I had nothing resembling a peanut sauce flavor, was entirely more spicy than would be expected, and the noodles were under cooked. The service was also lack luster. Our waiter stopped by to refill water once, but only once, and never asked as to the quality of the meal until I left early stating that the meal did not meet expectations, and I was entirely disappointed with the meal. 10 minutes after receiving this terrible meal, as I stood at the register wanting to pay, I was left waiting for a further 5 minutes as they found someone to take my money for the worst restaurant visit I have ever had. It was during this 5 minutes that I was finally asked as to the quality of the meal that I thought I had made quite apparent by not consuming more than 4 bites of it. When asked if I wanted to-go boxes, I said no, the meal was not worth bringing home. TL;DR: I will never return, the service was bad, and the food was worse.

Weve never eaten AT the restaurant, but weve ordered out... because thats what you do with Chinese food, you take out. Ive personally ordered out chinese food in all four corners of the united states, and while probably the most consistently good chinese food is in the northeast US, after ordering from at least 5 other chinese restaurants in the Renton area, Stir Chinese food to me, and my asian wife, is ranked tops, even among northeastern chinese places weve eaten at. The WORST offense is chinese places who deliver chicken and beef that is dried out, as if fried about 6 times, and then delivered cold. Disgusting, and shame on you chinese restaurants who overcook and reheat your chicken constantly. Soups without any substance to them, where it is all broth? Stir has the BEST, moist, fresh meat that weve had. Soups are bountiful and full of stuff. They deliver to our house which is on the edge (I believe) of their delivery area, and well get our food within an hour, and still hot, and fresh. AND we order online from their website. Stir Chinese Restaurant, thank you thank you for existing and delivering to us. You give chinese food a good name. All other chinese places should learn to create and deliver the freshness and tastiness that you do. The ONLY criticism that I have, is maybe that the cream cheese wontons could be a little bit less crunchy, but theyre still delicious.

Most of the bad reviews seem to reflect delivery or takeout service. Id like to say that some of the previous reviews influenced my decision to order "safely". I ordered the braised pork belly over rice dish, an authentic but relatively safe choice. Its a very traditional Chinese style dish, its one that my gf makes regularly. It was done very well. Those who talk about the American Chinese food should maybe try the braised pork which was text book authentic Chinese. Now Im still a little curious about the burgers, japanese Ramen, vietnamese pho, and Korean chinese jjamppong at an American Chinese restaurant. Not sure if Ill be brave enough to order them next time but I probably will be back for the braised pork belly rice again. The restaurant is a little eclectic in style and decor. But dont let that be the reason you dont try it out. There were a lot of potential red flags that should have made me turn away from the restaurant but I can say I actually did enjoy my meal. I bet if the restaurant is able to simplify a little in decor and menu this could be a more popular place.

*wouldnt even give this one star* I have never been so annoyed at a restaurant before. I ordered 4 California Rolls to be delivered and they delivered two... my total was 19.80. So I called back shortly after my food was delivered and saw the mistake. I told them my address and my total and they told me that they couldnt deliver because my total was 15.96 before the delivery fee. And I told them I am not paying for 4 rolls if I didnt get four rolls. I only got two. and they then told me the driver was going to come back. Still hasnt and I will be making sure my building who orders from there ALL the time doesnt ever order again from this place. Learn how to run a restaurant. I also will have my bank cancel the order. If you want people to come back then you need to learn some customer service and how to run a place because thats not how you run things. if someone is missing something you comp them and deliver it again. I dont care how busy. Will not be a returning customer

Recently stir was closed down by the health department, after hearing this I was so relieved. As a former employee I witnessed so many morally wrong actions by the owner of stir, mostly the wife since she was the one "managing" the inside. These actions include using white rice that was given to a customer and if it wasnt finished they would save it and use it for fried rice for another customer, they did not provide gloves for us to make the spring rolls or salads, and they would use different foods and items past the expiration date because they didnt want to waste. Also, the wife crystal would take my tips and the other waiters tips and split it in half for her, and her excuse was that its a team work. The list of these things can go on and on and i can write this review all day.The owners of Stir are truly immoral and they should not be supported!

I ordered delivery. The person answering the phone said it would be about 45 minutes. An hour and a half later, I called the restaurant back inquiring where my order was. Five minutes later, the delivery person was at my door with cold food and seemed to have no idea that I had paid over the phone with my Visa. I was already irritated that it took twice as long as they said it would to deliver the food, then the guy didnt have a receipt for me to sign let alone a copy of the receipt for me to keep, then once he left I realized there was food missing from my order. A very underwhelming experience to say the least. I spoke to the owner or manager that was on duty who said he couldnt do anything but offer me a credit towards my next order-as if I would want to repeat this awful experience. It didnt help that the cold food was mediocre at best.
