If you know what Ardbeg, Auchentoshan and Mortlach are, then this is the place for you. This place is designed for those who love to sit and appreciate their libations. There is a great attention to detail. The place was clean and comfortable (even the rest rooms). And the food is refreshingly diverse. But the thing that impressed me most was this: I had dinner here a couple months ago with four other people. We ordered food and drinks and were enjoying our conversation and the atmosphere. It had been some time since we ordered our food but it didnt bother me because we were enjoying our conversation and drinks. When the food eventually did come out the chef came out with the server and apologized for the delay and then threw in two desserts on the house. But we had never made a peep about the wait! We were simply enjoying the atmosphere and the chef on his own decided we deserved a little better service. So we ordered four desserts. In my opinion, an establishment that looks after its customers like that deserves some praise and my patronage. Plus, I love scotch, including several single malts not all that common in bars in the States. Their wine list seemed worthy as well. Its also nice not to have to make the drive to Seattle to get to a nice place like this. I sure hope this place makes it because I would love to continue eating and sipping my scotch here..

It appears nice with a great menu. I had the Elk Burger, my husband had the Bison Burger. We both asked for them to be well done-No Pink which the waiter repeated. The burgers took a long time to come (approx 30min). When the waiter set the Elk Burger in front of me I could smell it wasnt cooked properly, I cut off a mouthful, it looked uncooked, tasted uncooked and had no flavor. The waiter took it back, I asked him to put some seasoning on it. Another 10min later he brought me another one which seemed better at first until I got close to the center and it was still uncooked. The waiter saw it and offered to take it back again but I didnt want to wait again. My husbands Bison Burger was better so he swapped with me he didnt like the Elk Burger either. I was the worst Gourmet Burger I have ever eaten. We are used to eating gourmet food, we are Australian so we are used to eating good food and we were both very disappointed, neither burger had any sauce so they were also dry. Horrible, we will never go back there again. Over priced and over rated. I believe the Chief is in the wrong profession... Gourmet means Great flavors...

We went in on a Saturday evening, the restaurant did not seem very busy. We were told they only had one table available which we took, although we could see 4 open tables. During our visit only 1 of those table were taken, the other sat vacant. It took quite awhile for our server to greet us. He just didnt seem to care we were there. Our server seemed to be talking to "regulars" at the bar and didnt seem to be aware that we had questions or needs. We ordered a bottle of white wine, he said he would be back with and ice bucket, which never arrived. While taking our order we requested details of what would be on the the plate, he total us one thing and the plate arrived with something different. When we pointed out is error, he said they must have run out in the kitchen. His attitude was, I really dont care about you!. Our bill for 2 people was $100 not an inexpensive meal. Will question if I want to try this restaurant again. Food was great, but why would I want to pay someone that kind of money when they dont give service.

Service was good. We had a reservations and got there about 15 minutes early and were still seating almost immediately. Food was a little slow, but we were warned ahead of time. Great recommendations were made on some cheeses and drinks while we waited. Found some new ones that we wouldnt have tried otherwise. Main courses were quite good. Nicely presented plates. Good sized portions. Sauces were excellent. No real complaints other than we didnt feel we had room for dessert :) Nitpicking here, but they could use some better/more parking. Also, you can walk-in for dinner, but Id recommend trying a reservation anyway if possible. Its not a large place and appears to fill up fairly regularly.

I went into Scotch & Vine on a Thursday night and while looking over the wines, our waiter suggested we do the Thursday night wine tasting. So, for $10 I had a half glass of 4 different wines from the 5 Star vineyard in Yakima. The wine was great, the food was great and I even discovered a great new wine that I love, plus I could buy some right there on the spot. Did I mention how personable the owners Dave & Jill are? So when youre ready for a night of something different, Scotch & Vine fills the bill.

First time to The Scotch & Vine....outstanding!! Wonderful dinner with friends, everything was excellent. The steak was phenonemal, absolutely perfect. The staff was professional, welcoming and knowledgeable......by the end of the meal they felt like friends. They have a truly impressive selection of wine and scotch. We rounded off the meal with a lovely tawny port and dessert. I highly recommend going there and will be back soon!

Went here for the first time for Happy Hour and I was very impressed! Our table ordered fried cheese, fried pickles, calamari and mac and cheese to share - all were good. I ordered the Kobe Burger with their fingerling potato fries and it was delicious! Definitely planning on visiting again.

CLOSED. Tried to alert Google to make the edit. Theyre not paying attention. If you call, a message eventually plays that explains theyve closed. An outstanding restaurant. The problem?? They tried to open a location at Kent golf course and couldnt make it. A great loss for Des Moines.

The food is amazing, flat out amazing! Service and presentation is without question perfect! The bar and wine menu is endless and definitely a place to just have a drink and an appetizer. Just note, this place is not cheep, however you do get what you pay for.

I had a wonderful lunch with my friend Peggy we had wonderful service from Terra She makes you feel right at home, there was a little hiccup but Chef. Mike Halseth came out and made sure all was well and our wine was wonderful, nice to meet him.

Had such a great experience! The wait staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. The appetizer we got was great and they have a huge variety of drinks. Its definitely worth stopping by and if I was from the area I would a lot more often!

The scotch selection here is great. Over 250 different choices. The food was very good, especially the calamari and bison burger. The filet minion wasnt the best Ive ever had but it was good. The atmosphere is very chill but upscale.
