There are many reasons we love Sapporo Sushi and recommend you visit them soon. This review summary is based at our several experiences at the sushi bar, not table service. The service has been consistently good. Even when ordering from the bar one item at a time, we were provided with Miso soup and a fresh green salad to start with that arrived quickly. This was unexpected. The salad was simple yet fresh, crisp and tasty. The sushi we ordered was extremely good... The Sushi Chef and owner who served us is very experienced and explained that they take great care in preparing what many other sushi places neglect, the rice! Sushi rice is 70% of the portion in many cases, so it has to be perfectly seasoned, cooked, and served at the right temperature. Good sushi rice takes time to perfect and when it is done right is much more expensive to make than just steamed rice. This is what also makes Sapporo Sushi incredibly delicious. The classic preparation compliments the dish perfectly. They do not use too much rice either. It is balanced just right. Each bite is so good. The portions are also larger than most other places. Some places make rolls bigger by using more rice, not Sapporo. Rolls are filled with more with a thin layer of rice outside. The nigiri portions are larger too. Yet, the bites are not oversized to the point of making it difficult to eat. They just give you more slices. You see?... Its just right. The first time we visited, we ordered too much and the Sushi Chef asked us when we turned in our order, "are you sure you can eat all this?" He was right, so weve throttled down a bit since then. Sapporo is truly enjoyable and the sushi will not disappoint. Every time I have to travel through Fife, I have to visit here. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Absolutely out of this world! Great sushi, fresh fish and excellent prices. They also have a hefty list of special and unique rolls if that is ur pleasure. One of the BEST things are the Bento boxes, for 12.50 at dinner u get a choice of 2 items on the list, and a small sashimi platter (7 PCs) are one of the item options along with hot dishes like teriyaki chicken and beef, ton katsu, as well as calamari and chicken katsu! U can NOT go wrong with the Bento boxes. Reasonable prices and crazy great awesome device. The entire staff is friendly, helpful and kind hearted. They went the extra mile for me and it has made us return 3x this week!! All things aside, the food is simply put, outstanding. Very fresh fish cut to perfection by someone who clearly knows what they are doing and has the proper knives to do the job. Even the miso soup is a step above, with little eonoki mushrooms floating by happily and enriching the flavor immensely... Dont hesitate!! Just eat here u wont regret it!!!!

Best sushi in the greater Tacoma area, amazing service, and affordable!!! My husband and I have been going here for years and it is consistently the best!!! The fish is super fresh, they have great teriyaki options (for your friends who dont eat raw fish), and if you eat in the restaurant they serve complementary yummy appetizers (miso soup and salad) whenever you order sushi rolls... No one else does that! We love all their rolls, but our favorites are- The Sunshine, Volcano, Triple cake, Caterpillar, Hawaiian, and Dynamite... Seriously they are all great! We also love the Nigiri and Sashimi.

The only complaint I have is that the food taste different every time we order. Today was the worst. Ordered Spicy Chicken and it was over cooked as if they had pre-boiled the chicken and then threw it on the grill to get the grill marks. The first time we ordered was great and got plenty of food for the money but it seems if you do a big order and 3 people order the same thing, they rush it and your portion is very small. For $9.00 for spicy chicken I would expect to get a healthy portion; its only chicken and rice. This is the forth time we have ordered and possible the last.

I go here often as sashimi is one of the only things I can have with all of my allergies. No matter hot many times I go the staff are always wonderful. The sushi chefs take care in what they do and make everything look amazing every time. We have had sashimi, sushi, teriyaki, Domburi, and some sides. Everything tastes amazing and we will be forever customers. The staff have gotten to know us and it makes it feel like family when going out. <3 this place.

The best for miles, portions are very large compared to other sushi bars. The dragon roll blew me away, the portion of eel they used was so big that 1/4 of it was hanging off the back end of the rice. Very fresh and friendly staff make this my number one sushi bar, the only down for me is the lack of Uni. Give them a try and if you dont like it Ill buy your meal......NOT!!! No I wont pay for your meal LOL BUT IT IS THE BEST AROUND ! !

The best sushi Ive ever eaten! The owner apprenticed in sushi making in Japan, so Id expect nothing better! I go there often with my grandfather and his coworker, who has been neighbors with the owners for quite some time. They remember our names and are very friendly! The service is quick, and the staff check in with you and your meal with enthusiasm when they pass by.

This place is great; I always go out of my way to eat here when Im in town. The staff is friendly and the owner has pride in his quality of food. The prices are definitely worth it! A lunch bento box is around 9 and the dinner one is around 12 where you can select two "entrees" (my choice is usually chicken katsu and an eight piece cali roll). Check it out :)

So glad we just happen to stop here... Best Sushi Ive had in a long time. The servers were very friendly and funny. We had the Terriyaki Salmon and the Philadelphia Sushi Roll.. Super cute environment. The place started getting crowded after we sat down the line was out the door... We will definitely be back when we are in the mood for Sushi.

The sushi was wonderful! As was everything else we ate! It wasnt too busy but got there midday, between lunch and dinner. They have tables or a sushi bar u can sit at, but not limited space. We tried the deep fried soft shell crab and....yum! I will definitely tell everyone I know about this place and I will be coming back soon.

Sapporo is the best sushi in the area. I have been many places and tried many different sushi joints, but Sapporo tops them all. With great service, delicious sushi rolls and beautiful presentation, its my wife and my favorite. We love the Lion King, the Sunrise Roll and the miso soup!
