It was a loud place and each order they call out a name. Half the people couldnt hear the staff. Well the waitress started to point to the customers that (she thought) ordered the food. A waitress gave food to the wrong person. The wrong person started to eat it (just a simple sand-which). A SIMPLE MISTAKE! The original person who ordered that food didnt have food and asked the staff about his order. Then the waitress realized she gave the man someone elses order & got the owner. The owner started to yell at him for recieving the food and took the food from him. It was extremely embarrassing to watch. Just because of the owners attitude, I will not be going there and also tell others. What makes me even more upset is it was a get together for Gold Star Mothers. #NotHappy, it was clearly a misunderstanding.

Best burger in town. My favorite is the fried Bologna sandwich with sauteed onions, and tomatoes and cheese! Food is always hot! Service is great and friendly! Those who dont smoke need not go in the front door. A side entrance room is set up especially for non smokers! We cant go to Knotts Island without stopping here coming or going! Great place!

Service was good, food was out of this world... Got a large cheeseburger with everything and bacon, and an order of fried mushrooms. Burger was the best Ive had in VA beach. Friend ordered onion rings with horseradish dipping sauce... Instant jealousy. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasnt too busy. Definitely recommend it!

There is an old twig nailed to the wall in the mens restroom to act as a coat hook. It has been painted over so many times, that you know that it must have been placed there decades ago! Very cool and great food!

The best example of a "grease spoon" in southern Virginia. Good quick food with a rough and tumble service mindset that makes you feel like a local. Interesting yet appropriate decor.

Even though Monks Place is small and smoky. (Smoking allowed) they do make up in great tasting burgers and crisp fries. The burgers are juicy, bacon crisp.
