Wanted to try this place for a while, but ended up unimpressed. $5 for a medium coffee (in my own travel mug, which caused significant confusion) and a croissant. Young lady running the register was polite but seemed flustered and trying to do several things at once. Asked me if I wanted the chocolate croissant heated, but ended up just toasting the outside (enough to make a mess) while the inside was stone cold. No light roasts, only med-dark, and staff didnt have too much information to give on the flavor profiles of each. I dont expect intimate roast knowledge at a Starbucks, but here its essential to the business, and it didnt happen. Staff in the back café area were impolite and seemed annoyed that I asked for creamer, since it wasnt obviously located. Shop was poorly organized and relied on customer intuition...which...before my coffee, not so much. Seems like a neat place with potential, but I was seriously underwhelmed, and my companion was outright disgusted. Too expensive to tolerate a learning curve, especially when theyve been open a while. Up to you to give it a try, but my moneys going elsewhere.

I am a bonified coffee enthusiast as Im sure anyone looking at this review is. I found this place when I took an alternate route to work the other day and I decided to check it out. It is a wholesale place mostly, not exactly a starbucks, they dont have a huge selection of brews but you can buy all sorts of coffee to make on your own. I wanted to check out all this place had to offer as it really struck me that this kind of shop was in the middle of an industrial area. I tried their espresso and oh my god, the flavor was perfect and I loved the froth at the top. But as I said, this is a wholesale shop not a cafe, so I bought some coffee to take home. I decided to go for their more odd choice and chose the Mad Scientist Vacuum brew. I have never had so much fun making coffee. I only wish I had a lab coat to complete the role-playing of a mad scientist as I made the coffee, as the coffee making process was a bit complicated and you actually felt like you were in a chemical lab.. And yes, it was delicious. Will definitely stop by here again to try out more of their flavors.

Delish Lavender Vanilla latte! I walked in around 10 AM after dropping my car off for service. The place looks small when you first walk in but there is a whole seating area behind the cashier. I tried a lavender vanilla latte based upon the cute pic hanging on the wall with a chocolate croissant. The latte was amazing! A little sweet but the lavender balanced it out perfectly. The space is pretty unique. There are demos tables as well as small tables. The owner was so nice - it was packed but she came over to make sure I knew there was a space upstairs with room for me and my laptop. Staff were friendly (not sure who other reviewers met when they were there)... I would def. go there again when I am in the area.

Nothing but praise for the coffee and the espresso drinks. Espresso is smooth and tasty. The drinks are made correctly, ie. A cappuccino has mostly foam with a fantastic consistency. Ive tried the aeropress, French press and today the special science beaker coffee haha. All are good, the beans are good enough that a simple French or aero press really impress. Aeropress coffee is my regular choice, I only make it for the weekends but makes my mornings. Atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable. Wish there was outside seating, but difficult in this industrial area.

This is a coffee wholesaler that has a small shop to show off what they do all day. They only buy from small, sustainable farms and roast their beans on site. The first time I visited, staff told me that they supply several restaurants in and around DC. They help support women farmers in Central America among other things. Everything is ethically sourced, fresh, and flavorful. Very few places earn 4.9 stars on Google. This place is one! (The hours are limited. So you have to plan around that.)

Great little roasting shop. Carries a pretty good variety of well roasted, single origin coffees (no burnt or over dark roasts.) Staff are very helpful but coffee knowledge is hit or miss among them. I needed a solid espresso blend and theyve helped me tinker with several different takes on one until I found one I really like. Could not recommend more as the best place in NoVA for fresh roasted beans for home enthusiasts.

Fantastic espresso drinks. All single origin beans--fair trade as well, I believe. I regularly order the well made cortado. Theres a great balance of flavors in the espresso--all sweet and roasty with limited acidity and bitterness. Not many food options but the pasties are good as well. Im not a brewed coffee drinker so I cant comment on that, but I imagine if it matches up with the espresso its very good as well.

Cozy and professional. Friendly staff is also very knowledgable of coffees fine details (Eg: which country roast is best for your choice of brewing method). While not conveniently located for me to visit often, I do stop by when I am in the area... this is only way for me to enjoy siphon method for coffee! Relaxing music helps and an excellent way to decorate a warehouse area using pallets.

I wrote something about this place previously. Not sure why it is not here now. It was a total surprise to see the inside when the outside is so plain. The worn hand painted sign does not inspire one to stop but i did. This place is an undiscovered gem to the casual Starbucks or 7-11 coffee drinker. The downside is the price. But the atmosphere makes up for it.

Features a lot of single origin coffees. These taste better than blends which is what 98 percent of most people drink. Coffee is highly customizable. With several brewing methods. Very chill vibe as most of their business is wholesale with the occasional retail customer. Nice seating area. Try the Bolivian samaipata.

I am a devoted coffee lover and I am quite a critic when it comes to food specially Peruvian and coffee. Well my experience on this place is way about and beyond; very cozy, pleasant people and the place itself is a breath taking for a coffee lover person. Plus you can get more coffee than this, we are coffee lovers!

Dont be fooled by the exterior. Upon arrival you may think youve arrived at their warehouse which doesnt include a store front, but that is not the case. Grab a parking spot and head in- youll find a cool, low-key vibe and great coffee. Lavender vanilla latte is great!

Quirky old style coffee house in an industrial park bay. I watched them roasting the coffee because its in the same space as the seating room. They will also custom make aeropress and French press coffee for you at the coffee bar as you wait and watch. Totally bada$$.

A real hidden gem in an odd location, but well worth the trip for coffee nerds and neophytes alike. Knowledgeable and friendly barristas and every roast/brew known to man. They now have brewing and roasting classes for individuals and groups that Id like to check out.
