The menu is uninspired and has the usual Americanized menu with dogmatic adherence to the standard. I ordered for takeout and the waitress included four packets of soy sauce with our order but no chopsticks, no duck sauce, no crispy fried noodles (the appetizer you get for free when you sit down), no silverware, and no napkins. You can probably ask for these "extras" but they should be included with a take-out order. I had the twice cooked pork and it was alright, it tasted indistinguishable from any other fatty meat in spicy/sweet sauce. There were no peanuts or traditional peppercorns to be found in the dish (this is substandard). I could taste the fat gristle in about half of the meat bites. Even though I got an entire quart I still only received a single pint of white rice. My fortune cookie was extremely stale. My wife had the fried pork and broccoli. She is easy to please but refused to eat her equally stale fortune cookie. She didnt say anything impressive about the food and she thinks the broccoli was frozen and not fresh (substandard yet again). I ended up paying about $9/quart for each of the dishes so as far as Chinese food prices this isnt cheap but in the middle of the pack. They have lunch specials from 11:30AM to 2:30PM (it was 3PM but they shortened it). I recommend you find a better place to get Chinese food. I am new to Richmond and I didnt know any better. I will keep trying other locations.

+JMJ Not enough stars here!! This was one of my all-time favorite Chinese food restaurants when I lived in Richmond VA. Friends and I ate here regularly. The food is good and the prices are just right. Their egg foo yung is the best (in my not so humble opinion!) I have eaten at any Chinese restaurant. At least I havent found anything comparable here in Cottonwood since I moved here in 2013. And, their fried rice was some of the first non-greasy fried rice that I ever ate. Never found their restaurant crowded but when I would go to dine in or pick up carry out, they always had customers. The atmosphere is low-key but still homey. And, the staff are actually Chinese. Loved to hear them speak their native language when they would call out food orders to the kitchen staff. Arizona is now my home (no regrets!) but surely would love to have some of my favorite restaurants open up here in Cottonwood. Heavy sigh! If you are ever on Patterson Avenue and looking for truly good Chinese food, stop in!

My husband and I just moved to the area and decided to try this place out since it was nearby. I called ahead an order, and my husband picked it up. Id have to say that the food was a bit lacking in flavor for what I am accustomed to as far as Chinese food goes. I ordered Pepper Steak and my husband order General Tsos. The pepper steak was extremely salty, but lacked any other flavor and the General Tsos was very bland. I did like the fried rice though. The added bean sprouts to the rice was different and tasty. We didnt get any fortune cookies, chopsticks or napkins, and that is the first time Ive called a take-out order for chinese food and didnt get these things.

Ate for lunch for the first time and the food was fantastic. Sesame chicken with fried rice was very fresh and flavorful. Portion size was great because it wasnt too big that Id felt the need to box it up and not too small that I wasnt filled. Will definitely look forward to working in the area again to eat here.

I have been going to this chinese restaurant for many years and every single time I go to another one west lakes food and service always tops the other resturants. Totally recommend this resturant to everyone

Apparently new ownership with new chef. I do not like the taste from the new operators. The shrimp fried rice had all the shrimp on top with none throughout. Spare ribs not tasty like before.

Great food, I live blocks away and have eaten there for years. I love getting takeout from them and the lunch special is priced great so I often buy extra when I go to eat the next day.
