My first time at this place as Ive heard good recommendations from friends and we were in that ... just a burger mood! Ambiance: good - lots of seating throughout the restaurant and a large bar with lots of TVs. Beer selection: also good - not a lot of wheat selections like I like, but I found something that works Service: our server was great - friendly, attentive enough, but not overly Menu: overwhelming! Sometimes, when you want a burger, you just want something simple. They have SO many choices, but for someone thats looking for out of the box, Im all about it. I had the redneck wellington, which is a burger wrapped in phyllo like a beef wellington - no bun. I was told that since they bake it this way, it would come out pretty pink in the center. I usually order medium, so I was good with this. When it came out, no pink. More well done. Got the fries on the side - inlet style - tasty. And ordered one of the 25 cent extra dips on the side with horseradish - that was good. Shared pickle chips to start - tasted good with the sauce, but that was a huge order for 2 people - ended up wasting. Also got a side of the roasted beets with tzatziki - yum!! Got the brownie/cookie with ice cream on top to finish it off. Overall, a good experience and would return.... to try one of the other hundred burgers on the menu ;)

First time coming here, on recommendation of a friend. Great atmosphere, and great food/beer. But, of the 6 burgers that were ordered for out table, not one of them was cooked properly. Several of the burgers that were supposed to be medium-rare, came out medium or medium-well. While one other burger, that was supposed to be medium, came out blue-rare. When the blue-rare burger was brought to the attention of the server, he proceeded to argue with us that it was in fact medium. After arguing with the server briefly, the burger was sent back, and replaced with another burger that was still undercooked. They werent even that busy when this all happened, by the way. The cook should be fired. If you cant cook a burger properly, you shouldnt be working at a restaurant that prides themselves on burgers. I would go back again, out of hopes for a different cook being there. Besides this issue, the food was great!

Burger cooked to specification, leak fries always an excellent choice, collared greens a bit seasoned but still good, sauce recommendation by hostess was good, albeit not my pallet for the burger was an excellent addition to the leak fries. I was quite impressed by their draft, it wasnt the biggest menu Ive seen, but it seemed still to leave no stone unturned. Hostess was extremely courteous and good for conversation (Veda) recommendations from her have yet to fail, and she understands well the flavors in conjunction with the food being served. 10/10 would have her host anywhere without a complaint. If you take anything from my message, know that Ive been here several times, and havent once been dissapointed, but I must say the waitress Veda and the chefs deserve particular praise. Would recommend to anyone.

BLUF: good beer selection, OK burgers Background: Classic style atmosphere with an emphasis on craft beers and burgers. Pros: The beer list was impressive and well diversified. They rotate frequently so you wont get tired of the same thing if you frequent this place. Lots of seating space so you arent talking over your neighbors table (I have seen it crowded on some weekends though). Cons: burgers were underwhelming for a place that calls itself a burger bar. They have a lot of interesting combinations of fixings but they are undersized without much thought put into the rest of the plate. Buns were good but plain. Overall: 3/5. Definitely a place worth trying out once but I probably will not be back anytime soon.

Hit this trendy place on a Sunday afternoon around 3:30p. Had I known of the very limited menu specifically for 3-5pm on Sundays, I would have chosen another restaurant. None of the specialty burgers were available to order. The BBQ wings were great however the sesame sauce wings were waaaaay too salty!!! Ive tasted ocean water that was better than those wings. The burgers were just ok. I judge all burgers against the drippy juicy burger at Mission in Newport RI (best burgers on earth if you ever get up that way!) Cant say this place was good or bad…just "ok". You wont be wow-ed or disappointed, just full when you pay the check. Stop in if youre hungry & passing, but dont go out of your way to get there like I did.

Im really surprised there arent more positive reviews on this place. Theyre still relatively new so maybe they werent as great a year ago but theyre awesome now. This is one of the only places where I can pick anything on the menu and not be disappointed. The burgers are creative, unique and delicious. They use a lot of fresh and homemade ingredients and it definitely makes a difference. All around solid menu, from the apps, to the desserts, sides, beer selection and of course the burgers. Theres been more than one time where I uttered to myself "this is the best (fill in the blank) Ive ever had". I hope 80/20 Burger Bar sticks around for a long time.

My wife and I loved this place! Its around $12 for a burger and a side and it is well worth the price for a gourmet burger. If I want a high quality burger this is my new destination in Hampton roads. When I got my food I started with my side items and I though to my self "this wasnt worth the $12" because the fires and Mac and cheese were average, but that all changed when I bit into my burger. The burgers are loaded with flavor and the combination of toppings for the different options create a flavor explosion. I created a google plus account just to give this place a good review. I would recommend you give this place a shot.

Friday nights burger and beer was simply unremarkable. Ordinary at best. Burger was under cooked, plate presentation sloppy and the fries should not have been served as most were least than an inch long and overcooked. Also the six wing appetizer was well undercooked. meat was still raw and red. Overall, the food menu has a lot to offer for the first time customers, but for us repeat patrons, it has not been updated in years. Seems even the cook staff is tired of it. Certainly time for the owners to put a spark back into what was once the best burger bar in Hampton Roads.

I had the Lesner burger, changed my burger to a bison burger cooked medium. The bison was wonderfully seasoned and nice and lean. It had lump crabmeat on it and i added roasted red peppers and a pickle. The burger was cooked very well, all the ingredients meshed perfectly, and the bun was good also. Only reason not a 5 star is that it was just a little too much bun. The atmosphere was great and most importantly the service was superb! Will definitely go back because the select had so many burgers i wanted to chose from! One of the BEST spots in Norfolk for gourmet burgers!

Sat at the bar because there were no open table. ordered beer right away and got it fairly quick. but after that, bartender never took our order (for an hour we tried to wave her down). I think she thought we were just drinking but she never bother to check. when I got my food (ordered redneck wellington), portion of the burger was way off (too much goat cheese for the amount of mushrooms and onions they put in, and no seasoning on the meat whatsoever. bun was not fully cooked and I could still taste raw dough. Not a happy camper. (did like the beer selection however)
