I am without a doubt a chicken loving snob. Fried Chicken, the holy grail of chicken, is without a doubt found its best match at this chicken coop. Chicken and EXXON would match in no other world that that in Lovingston Virginia, but do not underestimate the combination. This chicken is the BEST, I mean the BEST fried chicken on the planet. An out of the way, in the most unlikely of places, chicken coop. It is just that. A small window adjacent to a gas station with a small town person working as if it were a dairy queen. She tells me they are all out of wings but can give me 8 pieces. 8 pieces of the MOST heavenly chicken I have ever tasted. Cars were lined up in the lot, waiting for these pieces of golden sunshine. A delicous meal that any chicken would be proud to give its life for...oh, if I could just have the recipe. I would promise to stop by the area to get some every time I passed through VA. I know there will be a day this summer, that I get my car and drive all the way to Lovingston from Pennsylvania just for that piece of chicken. No doubt 5,6,7 stars!!!

Stopped at the Exxon station on the way up 29 North because it had a big open lot next to it where I could walk my dog. Being a fan of hole in the wall and one of a kind restaurants, I was intrigued when I saw the sign for the Chicken Coop. I decided to order 4 wings and to my astonishment, they were out of this world. I was amazing how well they were fried, how flavorful the batter was and most of all how plump and juicy the chicken was. The only mistake I made was getting them to go and having to eat them as I drove. I came back through Lovingston 3 days later, heading down 29 South and the only thing I could think of was getting more chicken. This time I got an 8 piece and decided to dine in. The chicken is some of the best I have experienced, without a doubt. The fact its in a gas station makes it even better. Friendly people, great prices and HUGE wings with the wing and drum still intact.

The fried chicken here is magically delicious. The breading was salty and crunchy without being overtly greasy, and the chicken underneath was incredibly moist without being greasy. Its absolutely the best fried chicken Ive had in my life. If youre driving by, you owe it to yourself to stop here.

Saw the reviews and had to stop when visiting from Florida, bought chicken twice and ate breakfast there in the 2 days we were in town. Delicious! The service was great, so nice. You dont find many places like this anymore. Will be back!

Part of a gas station but chicken was crisp and delicious and well priced for the amount of food given. The only con was the bread. I would have preferred corn bread.
