I am an Olive Garden lover. Whenever given the chance to pick a restaurant I pick Olive Garden. This time picking Olive Garden WAS THE WORST DECISION MADE ON MY VACATION. I went to DC for my 1 year wedding anniversary and we picked the Olive Garden to celebrate a wonderful occasion. The wait to get to our table was reasonable, but once we got to the table the experience went down hill. The waiter was kind but could not prevent the destruction that the kitchen was doing to the meal. Bread sticks were almost never available, we were notified that the kitchen was almost out of them. Bread sticks are the main reason people go to Olive Garden. After we finished our salad and bread sticks we had to wait 20 minutes for our appetizer to come which was missing the sauces. After failure to refill our drinks, we had to wait nearly 30 minutes before our waiter came and told us that they were out of Chicken Marsala but had found two in the back of the freezer and it would be right out. Well, nearly 20 minutes later it came right out and as a CHEF there is no way that that food was prepared right away. 90% of the chicken was burnt, not carmelized for flavor, burnt so bad that it was bitter. Then, it had sat long enough that the flavor from the burnt chicken had begun to infuse with the sauce. In all my years of cooking for a 5 diamond restaurant, I have never seen such a pitiful excuse for an entree. I have had chicken Marsala numerous times and have never seen such crap be displayed on a plate. Eat here at your own risk!!! On a good note the other meal was alright, and the Chicken Marsala only made me slightly sick.

Me and my family were there 12/26/2016 we came at the same time as a different family we were a family of four and they were a family of five. My husband requested a booth to be seated so that we can enjoy a pleaseant meal. The host committed the error of not taking the names down for the parties that were waiting which ended up in a horrible experience. The hostest called party of four waiting for a booth asking each party if they were the party waiting for the booth my husband stood up and told the host that our family was waiting for a booth party of four and the other customer (family of 5) got upset and started yelling and disrespecting my family by using profanity and racial comments. The hosts witness the confrontation and still sat us close to the other family of course our family felt very uncomfortable after being racially offended by the family of five. Our family got up and started walking away no one at this restaurant did anything until my husband bought it to the managers attention which the hostest should of done from the beginning of the situation. I am so disappointed at how this restaurant responded to our situation. Yes the manager offered us to sit elsewhere...but thats beyond the point. The hostest and everyone at this restaurant need to be trained on how to respond to upset customers and how to host in general. Never going back. Ever.

Their carry-out service is unbelievably shady. I placed an order several weeks ago and the order was completely wrong (they gave us the wrong appetizer plus a cheaper entree than the one we paid for). The manager, Jorge, seemed extremely helpful and was profusely sorry. He offered to comp the appetizer and give us a free take-out dinner for 2 the next time we ordered. He promised to "make a note in our file" and to ask for his name when we called. Today, I called to to make sure we still had the credit. After waiting on hold, I spoke with Jorge. At first he acted confused and said he thought I was calling about a catering reservation last time. All of the sudden, he acted like the line was bad (kept saying "hello?" "hello?") and then hung up. I called back, was put on hold for 10 minutes and spoke with him again. He did the bad-connection act again. At this point, Im just pissed on principle. We called from my husbands phone. Waited another 10 minutes and he talked with Jorge. As soon as he realized it was the same customer, he played the "hello" bit again. At this point, Ive wasted 30 minutes for a credit we were promised. I guess well just never waste our time here again.

I use to like it. The food was okay and the salad and bread sticks were great. True, there was always something to nitpick about. The plates or glasses were sometimes not clean and there WERE staff sometimes carrying trash bags through the main dining room. But I never thought the bathrooms or dining room was dirty and I rarely found hair in my food. And the staff always seemed to be friendly and nice. But in the end my family stopped eating there. The chain changed the menu and many items that were inexpensive have been removed. Now, I do believe they are great with their portions. But sometimes you cant eat that much nor wish to. And many members of my family like to watch their weight and their wallet - not that you want to eat at the Olive Garden if you are watching your weight. But I cant see a family of five being well fed for around 50 dollars, as one reviewer has stated they were able to do. You may be able to do it as long as you order nothing with meat in it - like those pasta deals - or focus on soup & salad. That may work. Otherwise I prefer Italian places run by Italian families who serve real Italian food.

Well its olive garden and you can always expect great food here and the service has always been good as well. This one here in Alexandria can get a little busy for the dinner rush but if you go during lunch you should get a seat without too much diffuculty. Its a great atmosphere and the portion size is definitely adequate, and weve found there is usually enough to take some home. The salad and breadsticks are free, and Ive seen a couple of my friends actually get filled up on the apetizers alone. One issue I do have is that they used to have the most amazing chocolate gelato wich I crave but they took it off the menu. I will have to start a bring back the chocolate campaign and get a petition going or something, I really loved that stuff, anyhow.. All in all, this place is really nice good food, good staff always clean you have a good solid place to go to dinner here!

Worst experience ever. To begin, the waitress almost spilled our drinks. She failed to bring us the breadsticks, which eventually made an appearance albeit at the end of our meal, only after we had asked her four or five times. In addition, she failed to provide us with the unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks as advertised. My daughter ordered the cheese Ravioli from the kids menu but they sent out the mac and cheese. Once that was corrected and the rest of the meal seemed to be going well. Then the bill arrived. Guess what, there was a charge for the mac and cheese. Not only did we not order it but then we were being billed for it. The service and the wait staff stinks. The food wasnt all that great either. Never again will we visit olive garden again. Not this location or any other.
