Once you get a feel for what things are (I only read English so some of the labels do leave me seriously wondering) then you can find something not too outside your usual taste. If youre trying some of this food for the first time it can be rather off-putting if youve never tried anything similar. Their food is extremely satisfying. I like to get their pink jelly drink, the crispy egg rolls, any of their meat sandwiches, and every time I have to get their pho! The rice noodles are my favorite, the pork and shrimp soup just perfectly hits the spot. Not sure what happened with the previous reviewers visit, but every time Ive had them their smoothies are full of flavor and have fresh fruit on top when its in season. I really love getting it with the boba in the bottom! Its my impression that they work with the coffee shop at the end of the same strip, which make the smoothies and bubble tea. It seems to work out very well. I wish they had better napkins but the food and hours have made the trial and error of me experimenting with unknown foods well worth it!

I really like this place. Its just a hole in the wall, with a few long benches that you can sit down with total strangers. Even though it styles itself as a sandwich place, I think the Pho here is better than the full service Pho place next door. Plus they have egg noodle soup, and beef stew. The egg noodles are a little starchy for my taste, but they garnish the soup with thick pieces of bacon that are just... bacon! And the broth is excellent. The sandwiches are also awesome; I usually get the roast pork or flank steak. Never tried the bubble tea or smoothies, and there are some things for sale that are just a little too exotic for my Anglo-Saxon appetite. But overall Bale is a modest place that sells some really good eats.

Discovered by invitation from a Vietnamese co worker. Love the crispiness of the sandwich bread. The meat filling however was not enough and was in a pasty form ( steak sandwich). The chicken sandwich on the other hand was ok except that the chicken taste was absent. The sandwich veggies look as if there were just thrown on top. Counter is very crowded with merchandise. Tables are not cleaned properly . the same young lady comes out with the same cleaning water each time. Decided to try other similar places in order to be fair in my critics. Again, the bread is the only memorable item i took away after 2 visits.

Sigh...used to be my go-to when I lived down the street. Even going late night to pick up a good grilled chicken Banh Mi. Since Ive moved, Im not around there as often, but today I was, stopped by to pickup a grilled chicken Banh Mi and to my disappointment it wasnt like before. The chicken was all dark meat, obviously not grilled and had a bunch or cartilage and oddly a couple of bones. The chicken used to be shredded grilled breast. The bread and toppings are still good though. But very disappointed overall :(

Love this place, been going here since i was a little kid. My personal favorite thing to eat are their chicken sandwiches (which are not so bad when you add soy sauce) and from time to time i get their egg rolls. The prices are very reasonable and the environment is very peaceful (when it is not full). The interior design is very unique since they have neon-looking lights around the windows. The employees are super nice.24 hours makes it a go-to place whenever you are in the mood for some good Vietnamese food.

Very, very nice place for a Saturday night snack of Banh Mi Vietnamese sandwiches and bubble tea! Nice place to come for a snack after work as well, and for the most part, the food is Authentic Asian. I just wish they would get rid of the Starburst candies & the American sodas, then Id give this place 5 stars instead of 4, because it makes this place less authentic. Bon appetite! On a last note, I dont know why they call this place a French bakery when its more Vietnamese...

I really love coming to pick up some bread. I went today and this asian man with glasses that attended me treated me so bad and rude and i noticed that he treats his employees bad. Probably going to look for another place to look for bread because of the rude and disrespectful way this man treated me. Dont take your anger out on your customers. Very unprofessional

This place is one of Arlingtons great hidden treasures! Where else can you get great boba/bubble tea, pho, banh mi and other Vietnamese foods in the VERY early hours of the morning? Ive had many great times with friends at this place due to its wonderful items and late hours.

Best place for Vietnamese sandwiches (bahn mi). Fresh bread loaves available most times. Super value! Love their shrimp summer rolls too. All sorts of interesting pre-packaged food, bubble teas and Vietnamese sweets. Open 24 hours.

This place sucked ! No disrespect to my fellow asian community but damn the sandwich was gross...the only good thing was the mango Boba tea. Other then that its nasty... Never coming here again. ...

A late night Vietnamese bakery turned restaurant. They are now 24hrs and serve all sorts of decent food. Pho, sandwhiches, rice plates. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you.

Great place for a midnight snack; would be better if there was someone to actually make the hot food during the night.
