I frequent Matchbox and typically stick to the bar as it seems they adhere to a higher level of service. The weather was so beautiful yesterday, my companion and I strayed to the patio, figuring even if the service was sub-par as we previously experienced at a table, the ambiance & consistently wonderful food would make up for it. We were pleasantly surprised to receive prompt attention from our server Carissa. Her attention to detail and upbeat personality contributed greatly to our experience as we ending up staying much longer than we anticipated. If you are dining, I suggest you request her specifically! The food was, as usual, delicious, fresh and timely. Mini burgers, pizza, shrimp & grits are always our go-tos. I attempted to pass our compliments on to her supervisor Phillip but he was unavailable to speak to guests, despite us waiting 20mins after our meal for his presence. Phillip, you should take a clue from your attentive bar staff and servers!

Brunch Review. Usually when my friends and I get together every Sunday morning after a long night out we try to venture into DC or Georgetown for a pick me up brunch. This time we decided to go somewhere close to home. For a restaurant on a Sunday late morning it was surprisingly empty no wait to be seated (Teds bulletin next door was about 45 min -1 hour wait). The food here was very good (Brunch pizza, cinnamon rolls, and the fresh fruit were all shared). My only complaint was the bloody mary... Pass this one up if you have the chance we tried the spicy and the bacon and neither were good. For $9 you could get a lot better for a lot less at other places. Also I cant remember our servers name but he was awesome definitely helped with food choices and was super friendly. So if you want a quick brunch with no wait to be seated come here and get the cinnamon rolls but skip the bloody mary!

Incredibly friendly, prompt service. We had Lindsey, apparently she is new to serving, but she was great! Her trainer was also lovely (and quite emphatic). The food was surprisingly good. I wasnt in the mood for pizza or burgers so I thought I might be out of luck. Alas, there are many unique and delicious menu items. The chickpea fries that I got as a side were particularly interesting. My husband did get a burger and said it was delicious, well cooked, and nicely complimented. Its the kind of place where I could take friends or family that prefer Ale House/Pizza/Fridays fare and still find something a little different, fresh, and not drenched in butter or cheese for me. There seemed to be plenty of space, but it didnt give of an "empty" feeling either, even on a Sunday after 9PM. The entire experience was a pleasant surprise and I am excited to try more selections on their menu.

BRUNCH review only. Visited this last weekend for brunch and was seated right away (woo!). As I bloody mary lover, I was so happy to see they had multiple options for flavoring and garnishes. I opted for the 6: old bay with bacon in it. It was delicious. I ordered the crabcake benedict for my meal. The crabcake didnt seem like it was hand made fresh...but there was a lot of meat in it. They were pretty skimpy on the eggs as well. Overall I liked it...its worth trying once. But in a neighborhood with tons of great dining options, I expected a tad bit more oomph.

We ordered the Matchbox meat pizza, clam chowder soup, and mini burgers. The soup was bland yet salty. The pizza was EXTRA SALTY and greasy. The mini burgers had no flavor. Unfortunately, my two children and myself got stomach pain after eating the salty pizza. I think that paying almost $80 dollars for a meal that was subpar and made us sick was not a good idea. On the other hand, the atmosphere, the decoration, and specially the staff were very nice. If I come back to Matchbox, Id come back for happy hour -but thats about it.

I used to love coming here. I was a regular. Always brought my friends and family visiting from out of town here...but then they changed their amazing menu. No more Baby Kale Or Ahi Tuna Salad!! I used to feel like a neighborhood regular and now I feel like I its my first time experiencing matchbox. All of the replacements on the menu arent that good. Please bring back the old menu! Also I ordered the chicken Cobb salad and my chicken came out semi burnt. What happened matchbox!?

I stopped here with a group while in the area. The service was great - our server checked on us multiple times to make sure everything was good.... the food was great - everyone enjoyed their meals; we also had a bunch of teens with us, and the staff was very accommodating when it came to their "special" food orders! I felt that the price was a little on the higher end, but you get what you pay for ! Overall, I would recommend, and would go back again if in the area !

This place was highly recommended by my coworkers and I really wanted to like it. I visited this restaurant with a friend and was not impressed. When we arrived, there was confusion between waiters as to which one was helping us. My drink order was incorrect and when the server brought out our food, he wasnt sure who ordered what. The food was good, but the portions werent large, the food wasnt worth the price, and the service wasnt great.

We stick with the brick oven pizza, and a small is good for two people when you grab a few drinks to go with it. The standard pizzas are great, and Ive enojoyed some unique ones like a brunch pizza and the honey/fig pizza. Many of the items can get expensive, but if you stick with the smalls and the great beer selection its reasonable. The decor is cool, very clean. Expect a wait but you can ways walk around Mosaic.

Nice ambience, good beer, too pricy for a small Rib eye steak with near charcoaled squares of hash-brown that (steak) could have been done a lot better. our waitress set our food down without silverware, We patiently waited through a long awkward moment staring at the food, then had to hunt for things myself. this was my first time patronizing Matchbox and will be my last. Not worth repeating the pricy experience.

We had a great dining experience here. The staff were great with my 18 month old son who was less than pleased with sitting in a high chair throughout dinner. Brought him dough to play with, kid cup with straw, picked up his fork and WASHED it off before giving it back, all gave him high fives as we walked around to burn off some energy. Overall very impressed! Oh and the food was good too!

Matchbox in the Mosaic has a rude staff and terrible manager. The bread for my meatballs was so burn I couldnt even eat it. I had a bad experience a few weeks ago spoke to manager he said come in and he would take care of us. When we got our check he proceeded to tell me in from of my date he wasnt going to help out on the check. Vary dissatisfied will be calling corporate office.

I have been here multiple times and it has been awesome each time. I have tried their pizzas and they are very delicious. I have only eaten the chicken ones. I really enjoyed them. My new favorite is the Bloody Mary burger. Its amazing. The fried egg is an icing on the cake... I mean burger. Service is also always on point. Few of the waiters have amazing sense of humor.
