I went to WOB on 10/17/14 and unfortunately didnt have the best experience. I sat at the bar with a buddy and we each ordered 2/3 drinks. First, I ordered a can of beer from one of those giant refrigerators they have in addition to numerous taps. The bartender was busy as it was a packed Friday night. He poured my beer as rapidly as he could without any thought to how he was pouring it. He only got about half the can in the glass before the foam reached the top then he rushed off. I had a glass half foam, half beer. In addition, it was room temperature. Im not sure if their fridges need to be turned to a colder setting or what. Also, I expect them to pour with some experience. Anyway, my friend and I continue to order beers off tap this time. All of these have lots of foam and are still not even remotely cold. I feel like a place called WOB should making pouring the perfect pint and beer temp a top priority. Food- We only ordered a sausage platter app. it was very good and something that compliments our beers nicely. This earned them points. Selection- Yes they have a lot of beer. I was actually shocked to see they had no more then 1 to 2 beers from Bells, Rouge, Stone, etc... IMO, these are some of the best microbrews in the nation and should be featured heavily. In their place was every beer fat tire has to offer, every beer the local breweries have to offer, etc... Thats all fine and good, I suppose, but I went there expecting to try something rare or hard to find. Most of these beers you could find at Kroger. 2/5 but with time I see this place improving. The parking is kind of a nightmare because the spots in the garage behind it fill up fast. Unless encourage by a new friend Ill doubt Ill return. Im sure theyll do excellent business with the giant partment complex built around them.

The food is pretty decent, drinks are what they should be , a bit small and selection could be better but it is what it is. Now the service needs some work. I was given the wrong price for drinks as well as food and a very nasty attitude when I brought up the error. Bartending is not hard and fixing a menu should be clockwork ... but not here. Management is a joke and I feel ripped off thinking about this place now. Would not come back here again, the environment was pretty bad and they had only two things on all of their tvs!!

WOB has a very good selection of beer with a few choices of wine & cider. The food is pretty good with some unusual, artisanal dishes that pair very well with just about all their beverages. They occasionally have local bands or singers that add to the ambiance. Seating is indoor/outdoor. The staff is polite, attentive & efficient and can answer most of your questions. There is indoor parking in the building that WOB is attached to, so customers dont have to do street parking.

World of Beer is my go to in Charlottesville for the latest in craft brews from around the region and country. The service and staff are as friendly as can be and the food is great. Cant beat the gigantic German Pretzel with house made beer cheese or the perfectly seared Ahi Tuna. I have been a regular since October and I truly think some of the hiccups of a newly opened establishment that were mentioned in other reviews have been worked out and its a great place to go!

The beer selection is great and the food is not bad. I had the bratwurst pretzel sliders which were tasty and came with fries. The portion was just right and the price was reasonable. I had two beers here. The waiter gave me the wrong version of the Pilsner Urquell, I wanted the cheaper one for 4.50 but he conveniently gave me the $7 one. It wasnt a big deal but watch out and make sure the waiter knows which beer you want.

My girlfriend and I went on a Monday night when it wasnt busy. Our server, Matt, was very friendly and very knowledgeable about beer. The beer selection was amazing, ranging from local to west coast, including a few collaborations specifically for WoB. The mac and cheese was forgettable, but the tavern taters were great, and the German pretzel (with beer cheese) was possibly the biggest and best weve ever had.

Comedy here sucks!!!!!!The dude made fun of special education kids and we were kick from the bar because we happened to be sitting next to his dad. I go here almost every week for trivia on Tuesday. They have a large selection of taps and above average food for being a bar. The fish tacos are one of my favorites on the menu. A fair number of TVs for watching sports as well.

Well if you are only catering to uva kids you are doing fine but we are middle aged Cville residents enjoying the holiday weekend. We have been to a few places today trying the new spots this was the WORST. Service was non existant. The staff on both sides of the bar were enjoying the beers but we felt kind we were a well all I can say is a distraction

They put blueberries in the blueberry beer. Also get the tavern tots, dont question, just do it. Youll soon be asking for the tots as standard component of the visit. Like a glass of water. "Yeah I dont know what I want to eat or drink yet, maybe just bring the waters and tots and then well be ready." Truth.

My first time here. The beer was cold, the food was better than expected (although pricey), and the service was fantastic! The server knew the menu well and made great recommendations. Always a good sign when the place is buzzing with local customers. Ill be back!

Food took a very long time which is understandable if the place is very busy but there were only 3 tables of guest. The staff wasnt very friendly. A friend ordered wings and they were overcooked. The only reason Im giving 3 is the beer selection is great.

HUGE selection of beer. Almost too daunting and many of the beers offered seem identical. Food was OK, service was above average. Atmosphere was very college oriented since it is the first floor of student housing.

Honestly its got a pretty expansive yet underwhelming selection of beer. fun weekday events and decent food. Usually slammed with college kids. Would be much better if they focused on their taplist a bit more

The people who are saying the prices are high are missing the point of this place. Specialty beer isnt cheap! WOB has an interesting and fun beer list and its worth paying for!

Of course they have an amazing beer selection, its World of Beer! The food is alright, but nothing memorable. Lately theyve been booking several bands to play on their patio.
