"Since 1985" I can definitely see why House of Dynasty has been in business for so long. Outstanding service upon entering and even while leaving. Wait staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. If you order an appetizer, before your order comes you are served a small spoonful of sorbet to cleanse the pallette, when your order comes out they plate the first round for you, and when you are finished a hot towel is presented to you to clean your hands. What an experience!!! I have never been to a Chinese restaurant that has taken this level of care before. I ordered the sesame chicken. Best sesame chicken I have ever had. Breading to white meat ratio was on point. The chicken was moist. Breading was crispy. The sauce was sweet but not overpowering. Crystal Chicken is another quality order if you like the sesame chicken style but less sweeter and a hint of spice. Highly, highly recommend restaurant.

I guess Im reviewing everthing in the Hayfield Shopping center today, so along with my dentist and the bagel shop I might as well review this awesome Chinese restaruant also. My family and I are total junkies of this place. We eat here at least once a week. I probably sweat MSG now. The service here is good and the wait staff is friendly. Their mastery of the english language leaves something to be desired, with some of the staff, but it is a Chinese restaurant. I would probably be disapointed if my waiter had a southern accent. The food is top notch and they do want you to be happy. The carry out is fast, and most importantly accurate. I never check my order to see if it is all there. The soups are delicious as are the entrees. Im a broccoli beef girl myself. This place really is a gem. You cant go wrong.

This place is an all-around great restaurant. The service and atmosphere are the best that a strip-mall based restaurant can offer. The wait staff is skilled and actually cares about making sure you have a great dining experience. The vegetables are fresh and the sauces flavorful. It reminds me of great sit-down Chinese restaurants that I went to as a kid up in New York. Not your typical take-out, plastic chair, and sticky-floor Chinese restaurant. Make no mistake though, this is "Americanized" Chinese food....it isnt the authentic stuff that youd get in San Francisco or NYCs Chinatown, but it is the some of the best "Americanized" Chinese food Ive ever had.

House of Dynasty used be one of my favorite restaurants for over 20 years. My family, my office people and my friends were frequent customers. I believe a new management took over and I saw many new faces. Their services were unexpectly terrible. They are stingy with rice, you can not have more rice without extra charges (not like the old management), they did not ask what type of rice (fried rice or steamed rice) we would prefer.... They surprised me with extra charges on my bill. A woman supervisor came to our table and was talking to us very loud and unmannered. I never had this kind of unpleasant experience with the previouse management for over 20 years.

I went to the House of Dynasty, Alexandria on Monday night, 14 November for an important business dinner. This was my third time at this Restaurant. Everything was perfect. Made reservations and asked for a special table. I arrived on time and was led immediately to the table I requested. Our waiter was outstanding in every detail. He made every small service at the perfect time. Food was hot, on time and just tasted great. Atmosphere is up scale and the restaurant is designed so it is quiet. It is very important to be able to talk and hear each other. I love this place. Walt Okon

If I could give this place no stars I would. I have tired this place twice just to give it a fair chance, and that is it! Never again! The second time I went it was for take out. The place was so busy, and I have to say they are fast. However, the entire order was wrong and disgusting. I have a teenager that will just about eat anything but after one bite of the general taos chicken, she could not bring herself to eat any more. Im from the west coast and often ask myself, do people on the east coast even know what food is supposed to taste like? Just horrible.

I come from Las Vegas originally where there is a wealth of good food from all sorts of cultures, especially the Chinese culture. After having went to the House of Dynasty last night for the first time, I must say this place rivals, if not trumps, some of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever been to. This place is extremely traditional, has excellent service, and the food is authentic. So long as I live in the DC Metro area, this is the only Chinese restaurant that I will be going to. Absolutely fantastic!

This is some of the best chinese food I have eaten in the lower 48 states. Dont be fooled by its location, you have to give it a shot. The setting is nice and quiet with soft music and low lighting. The servers are polite and professional. The food is fantastic, I have had the general tsos chicken and orange chicken. Both were off the charts, so I would assume that everything else on the menu is just as good. It does get a little crowded on friday and saturday nights so come early.

I dont know what everyone is raving about. My husband and I have been on a search for good Chinese food since we moved here to VA. We were referred to this place by our realtor. We both thought the food was terrible. The only good item we had was the hot and sour soup. For three things we paid $25, I know Chinese is pricey but this place seemed through the roof. Supposedly for better quality food, but we both thought they were lacking. Dont waste your time or money.

I moved to the area and was looking for a new place to get Chinese food at and I ordered some takeout. Apparently, I walked through the wrong door but I was very impressed by the ambiance and the decor and atmosphere. It reminded me of the very respectable Chinese restaurants I remember going to when I was a kid. In addition to the environment I thought the lunchtime menu was great for the value and the food was delicious too. Look forward to many meals here.

Great service and food for a great price. The staff are very friendly, fast and professional. All of them are dressed in suits, and the decore is very authentic. The food is the best chinese I have had since I moved here, and you can beat their prices! I highly recommend this restaurant to others. The only thing I would comment negitively on is the restrooms. The are slightly out dated and in need of some repairs. Other than that I loved this place!

Very rude. We were walking in with group on 13. as we enter the guy asked a question how many and we responded 13. so right away he says that you are only 11.(turned out that o elderly were walking behind and he did not see them). So we asked to have a table for 13 and he said that he cant put all of us together. he will join table for 10 and 3 kids can seat seperately. We just left from there. will never go back to that place.
