NEVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! This is the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to my whole life! Dont believe any of the other reviews; they must have been "staged" by friends of the owners! I got there at 6:30 on a Friday night. Any other restaurant would have been packed, but this one was nearly empty - that should have been indicator #1. The booths and decor look more like some run-down diner than a real quality restaurant. They play country music in the background...in a Mexican restaurant! I had to ask to be seated, and they just handed us a couple of menus and told us to seat ourselves. They brought over chips and salsa right away but no water until we asked for it. The salsa came in a plastic squeeze container like ketchup. The chips and salsa were very disgusting and low-grade. I asked for pico de gallo and the waitress said they didnt have any. What kind of Mexican restaurant doesnt have pico de gallo?! My date was optimistic that the food would be better, so we ordered. The food was definitely sub-par; my date didnt even feel comfortable eating hers. Her tomates had a sticker still on it, and her chicken enchiladas tasted funny and rubbery. All in all, this was the worst Mexican food experience of my life and I have no idea what inspired the other reviews.

Whelp today was the day... The very first time i have ever walked out of an establishment due to very poor customer service. Let me preface this by saying La frontera cafe (in west valley) is my absolute favorite mexican restaurant in this great state of utah. Now Ive lived about a half mile from this location im reviewing for about a year. Tonight me and my girfriend figured wed try it out. And oh man were we sorry. Took ten minutes after we walked in for anyone ro greet us. When they did we simply said table for 2. They then said "sit wherever" k so we did and after minutes were brought our chips and salsa then the waitress asked what we wanted to order.... We had no menus. After then bringing us the menus. The waiting game began. She didnt check up on us again for 30 minutes. We were ready to order after about 5 minutes. I hear employees chatting it up. I even stood up looking for our waitress. Couldnt see her however i could her in the back. At this point we were both so hungry and frustrated we. Stood up. I paid for the 1 drink we ordered. Which i shouldnt have. I shouldvecharged them for my wasted time. I wouldnt ever eat here. Ill continue to eat at the west valley location. However i wouldnt recommend this location to my worst enemy.

I went with work friends (about 10 people). I ordered a beef chimichanga, and got my order ok. It looked like a half deflated chimichanga. As soon as I cut into it I found it was literally 80% cheese and about 10% beef and I have no idea what the rest of it was. Also I was given sour cream in a tube. Ive never seen it that way before in my life. The server brought the wrong food to one of my coworkers 3 separate times. By the time she got it right, we were leaving. 5 of us ordered soda, and there were no refills. The server was good and noticed that others in our group didnt really touch the food because it was so much cheese, or not what they had ordered and said it would be free for several of them. So that was good. But I will never be returning to spend money I have earned and have an experience described as a mediocre at best. Save your money, and go to Red Iguana or anywhere else.

I have worked fast food/retail/customer service since I turned 16, so I can understand a place being busy and understaffed. But tonight it was not busy, it wasnt understaffed. Yet it still took over an hour to get two enchiladas and a kids meal to go. Get home to eat and low and behold the kids meal is cold, the burger isnt even cooked all the way. One enchilada combo was cold. The other enchilada combo was just the rice, beans, lettuce and tomatoes. No enchilada anywhere to be seen. I called to see what they were willing to do to remedy this, and I was told they could remake my order. Remake my order? So I could sit there for a other hour or more? I said Id just like my money back. And she hung up on me. Plain and simple, I will never eat here again. Ill drive further away to a different location where they understand its the customer that pays their check.

DONT EVER GO HERE! The food is terrible and the service is even worse! I ordered a Taco Salad and it was horrible! Stale lettuce, dried up crust, consisting largely of guacamole topping. My friend called over the server and I told the server the food was "not very good." His response? "If there is anything else I can do for you, call me over." No offer to bring something else, nothing. And then he brought over the tab and he had added several dollars to what he listed. Upon paying, we told the "manager" that we had tried to get the server to bring something else. To that, the "manager" stated that he would "talk to the server later" and would "knock off" the few dollars that were overcharged anyway.

I have a couple of things to say about this place. I felt they were for the money spent very generous with the amount they serve up, when it took me two feelings of full to knock down my set of enchiladas they say were for one I went back to see if it was a fluke. No they are just great at providing a good meal for the price. Secondly our server Alisha went out of he way to make sure we were happy and asked all the right things at the right time. Thanks for working hard to please your customers and we will continue to appreciate it by coming back again and again.

I first ate at La Frontera over 30 years ago, this location and the 7th West location. Its no wonder that their stores are closing one by one, the quality of the food had gone so far downhill I dont even recognize it. I had a smothered Chile Verde burrito and a chicken enchilada today. I found only 2 pieces of pork smaller than a quarter in the whole mess, and no chicken at all! La frontera used to be my favorite, but nowadays it seems even Taco Bell would be a better choice. Last time, amigos. I see this location being the next to close.

Sad to say this places food was Garbage..I ordered 2 combination plates. The food was dry as hell.a quarter way thru mines I found long Black hairs..Worst feeling someone can get finding hair in your food..Rice was really dry..Beans !! Well we all know the history behind their beans..the corn Tortillas had a foul taste to them..What a shame for a owner of a place with such a history of having some of the best Mexican food in the valley would resort to serving garbage that is served today..Never Again..
