WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!! While this hotel is in a beautiful setting and the accommodations are nice the staff is unbecoming of a 4.5 star hotel. My husband and I were charged a fee of $375 for smoking in our room. As we didnt smoke in our room we attempted to dispute the charges with the manager on duty. He informed us that they received a conplaint from housekeeping that our room smelled like marijuana and after their investigation they found evidence to support that claim and tne charges would stand. When we asked what evidence they had found we were shown a picture of a pack of cigarettes. Management refused to admit that the evidence didnt support the claims and would not refund our money. In fact, they were rude and inferred they had done us a favor by not evicting us. On top of that, their website claims they have a spa and salon on site which was part of the reason we booked this hotel but upon arriving were informed they actually only offered in-room massages by third party contractors. *UPDATE* Since checking out of this hotel Ive contacted them several times to attempt to settle the bogus smoking charge to no avail. Management has informed me that my only option going forward is to dispute the charge with my bank and the sheriffs office. Since check out the hotel has charged me almost 800$ in additional charges and fees. $200 a night sounds good for this place but know they will find every way to get as many of your dollars as possible. Skip this place!!

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend. Overall experience was ok. Valet only is a negative. We ordered room service and the pork wrap was inedible. The salad was flat and weak. The next morning we went to have brunch. We were seated and waited 15 minutes without a server coming to wait on us. We got up and told the hostess that we were going to pass on the brunch because no one had been out to take a drink order or anything. Her response was " oh okay have a nice day" . We went to the pool area to try to get food (at this point we were pretty hungry). The service was very weak. We were the only ones there and the two employees were taking their time with their own conversation. They offered up lamb skewers and a lot of other things. We said that we would like two coffees and the pastry basket that was on the brunch menu. They had to make some calls to management to see if we were allowed the pastry basket. Before the pastry basket arrived the server was asking me what else I would like to order and I basically said lets see if we can get the simple stuff right first. The pastry basket was described to have butter and jellies. What came out was a muffin cinnamon roll and croissant. No butter. No jelly. In a great food city like Austin, I suggest they get on the ball in this regard. We left feeling overcharged and hungry.

Granduca is a beautiful hotel with amazing rooms. Ive stayed here now 4 times as it is my go to when in austin. This last time has been different though and I will not be returning. I booked a room with an early check in option for 1130, when I arrived at 130 the room was not ready yet. I had to take all of my stuff back to my car and change at another location and get ready for my meeting at 230. When I called to speak to the manager the lady I spoke with instead of apologizing and trying to retain my business, she blamed me and was very rude and condescending. Saying that it was my fault and the early check in is just a preference and they dont have to follow that, which I wasnt told when reserving the room. She then blamed me for being ignorant of the policy. Obviously my business isnt important to Granduca and I will be spending my time and vacations at the W instead. If you are going to spend 300 or more a night for a room, I would expect a level of service to match. That was not the case, so dont waste your time or pleasure with the stress and rude staff at this hotel.

Being an Austin local, I have eaten in their restaurant several times both with private events and as a couple, attended a Chamber event and have participated in a Board meeting that hosted senior level executives from around the globe. Thats when I had a chance to stay in the hotel. This is a beautiful, well-managed and elegant staff that works to address every guest as a special guest. The food is tasty, interesting and Italian. Its not America Italian but the lighter side of Italian and reminiscent of the home country. To top off my positive experiences, I ended up having a flat tire on my car that the valet promptly changed that had me on my way so I was able to make a morning meeting out of Austin. They offered a driver to take me, but I felt it was too much of an imposition to have them drive me over an hour away and back. But it was offered! Classic, beautiful, refreshing and appreciated! I only wish the entry drive had more light at night. But I understand that is a TXDOT issue.

Very sad that this hotel required digging out the side of our beautiful rock along 360 cause such damage to our ecosystem was a complete waste. Low quality furniture, uncomfortable beds, very poor decorating and the interior designer must have been color blind. Dont even ask about the carpet. All that is not as bad as the smell of peticide in rooms or some kind of aerosol chemical. I had to change rooms, but second room is no better so opened windows and ran fan. Customer service is poor and no extra amenities that = no luxury here. Hotel parking is $35...which is ridiculous since and empty garage sits across the walk way...guess the empty garage says it all. Avoid this place...cheaply done with poor sevice. Also there is no ventilation in bath, bedroom feels like s cofin! Certainly doesnt feel like Italy to me...more like Wal-Mart style Italy.

What an experience!! VERY pleased with the quality of the hotel and the service we received. Highly recommended and worth the expense. They have a very helpful, courteous and extremely well trained staff. The collection of Italian books, art and owners personal touches adds to the experience. The room we were given was beautiful, a spacious and comfortable sitting area and a bedroom loft and adjoining bathroom. The quality overall was excellent, beautiful courtyard and the pool area. It feels like you are in a retreat in the middle of the city. We LOVED their restaurant and chef prepared gourmet dishes. We had special food restrictions and the request was well respected and taken care of! Every experience from the the initial valet service, front desk, room service to restaurant service is top notch! Really can go on and on about it!!

Love this hotel!! Elegant, superior service and staff, beautiful amenities. The pool and the views of the hills from the room topped it all off! So glad I found this hotel tucked away in Austin. The staff go out of their way to make you feel special and go above and beyond! I asked the front desk if the transportion service was available and the hours were not within their normal hours of operation. They didnt say no, they sent one of the security managers, Paul to take me to get a quick bite around the corner. Their town car is quite possibly the nicest town car Ive seen, they definitely gave me VIP service. I Love customer experiences like this!! Great hotel and amazing staff made this stay memorable. The rooms were beautifully decorated - the wood doors and hardware and decor made the hotel feel castle like.
