I cannot believe this actually happened at Currents! I was by myself, so I just sat at the bar. I dont know if the ladies there were bartenders or waitstaff, but one of them got my tea. This was the only thing that happened at a reasonable rate. It took them a few minutes to get me a menu. When I saw they had a lunch ribeye, I ordered that, medium rare. I had had the most delicious ribeye there for dinner several months so ago and looked forward to having one again. They set a plate with butter on it in front of me & said they would get a roll. Well, about 10 mins later, I still did not have a roll. When I asked, I was told it was in the oven. Funny thing, though, when they brought it several minutes later, it was not warm and the crust was not freshly baked. It tasted like it had been baked earlier. Now we are up to at least 15 mins & I just got my bread. About 10 mins after that I asked when I would get my food. After she checked, she said since it is a ribeye it will be a few more minutes. More than 1/2 hour after I ordered my food, they bring out my steak. I noticed it was not very warm and on the second bite, I was eating COLD steak! One of the ladies took my plate back after I grabbed a couple of fries off of it. I was very hungry and now I am late from lunch, so I told them to put it in a to go container & give me my check. I also asked for a tea to go. So now my steak has been on the grill twice. This seriously affects the juiciness of the steak. In addition, how long does it take to cook a thin steak to med-rare? 35-40 mins and then it is still cold in the middle? My bill had no discount for having to send it back. My tea to go was a cup of ice with a few sips of tea. They put the steak on a piece of foil with the fries right next to them, so they could get nice & soggy on my way back to work. They did not offer any plasticware or a napkin, even though they knew I did not get to eat my lunch. I did leave a 20% tip, but I wish I hadnt after I saw the way they packaged my to go order. When I expressed dissatisfaction over the steak being put back on the grill, one of them asked me, "What do you think we were going to do?" I told her after that long I expected it to be right! No apology for the cold undercooked steak, just a snotty remark! To add insult to injury the steak had a lot of grizzle, so I only got to eat about 3/4 of the somewhat dry, unevenly cooked steak. The fries were good, but only because I looked in the box in my car & was able to put them under the foil to protect them from soaking up the last of the juice in the steak. I really do not know what to do. The food has always been so good and the service excellent, to have this kind of experience was unimaginable.

This was our first time dining here and I must say that the staff and food was excellent. We didnt have a reservation but they were able to accommodate us. The crawfish bisque was awesome along with the fig puff pastry. Cocktails are to die for! I dont think you can go wrong with any entrée on the menu...steak, lamb, Mediterranean shrimp and salmon are all excellent choices. Id recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a great meal with great service.

I was visiting Tyler for 5 days with a friend. Lunch at Currents was so good (I had the Pistachio Chicken Salad) that we went back for dinner. Everyone in our party LOVED all their dishes. Good wine list, great staff. I wish they would open a restaurant in Durango, CO!!!
