After working here for a couple of weeks, I actually was able to understand that the owners of this restaurant do not know how to run a business. There are so many things wrong that they do not fix, and relentless lash onto their workers on doing a bad job. I even heard of a server that used to work here who would always cry because miss Nicole would always tell her shes wrong on what she does, but doesnt point it out to others. She then fired her out of favoritism. Also, no one cleans their hands here. Maybe thats why the food doesnt taste so good. I always hear the servers complain about their customers, yet provide an act to just get tips. There was also a time where a mother came in with her kids, but didnt get her food served to them. Then they had to wait for the food to be paid and the manager still expected them to pay for the food even though it was their fault. Also, it doesnt help when they speak chinese in front of a hostess/server their mistakes, and when theyre confused the manager gets mad. Its always customers first, but shouldnt it be where if one treats their employees right then they are able to treat customers right? After all, the servers and the hostesses are the ones who interact most with the customers!

Walked in right at 11 30 which might have been our mistake. Wife, three kids, and I were told we needed to wait just a few minutes to be seated. Then 5-6 guys came in right behind us they shook hands with someone on the staff, could have known them, and sat right down while we are standing there still waiting. I paused and asked why, the greeter said they know a cook. I said thank you, since you do not act like you need my business I will take the family to benihana. Much cleaner at benihana, great staff, and smelled the much better. Been going there for years and its close to the house, but never again will we visit since you need to known someone to get seated.

Ever after the new owner bought this place, its going down. Now this is a restaurant without taste, class, or style. It is not a Japanese restaurant any more, although it has a Japanese name. I dont think the new chef knows how to cook Japanese food. I dont think the manager knows how to run the place. This is definitely not a place you need to celebrate your birthday, anniversary, or holidays. If the food price is $8.99, then I would go there for casual lunch. But thats it. They charge for $20.00. Thats insane. Go to Reb Lobster, or Papadeaux, or Olivegarden instead if you have money.

This place has gone down hill since Steve left few years ago. They hire all these oriental girls for servers that dont even understand English. Are so slow with their service. We went there for my daughters birthday to eat hibachi sat at our table for 15 minutes before we got up and left because no one was helping us. We got up and went to Kobe and it was amazing. Also the food doesnt taste as good as it used to at shogun Im disappointed. We wont go.

Tempora bento box (lunch) battered veggies were bland and generally tasteless. .. Fried rice tasted too much of oil and burnt remains Cali rolls were loose, other wise good for roll. Requested extra wasabi but received a weak portion. Salad was good except for a bitterness in greens. Soup smelled and tasted of old shoe leather. The shrimp itself was good. Never good to hear a microwave in a Japanese kitchen first off.

The bald waiter was probably the best waiter ive had since moving to the woodlands. The fancy sushi was good, but i really wanted to try a staple sushi to compare it to other sushi restaurants so i got the tuna roll. So damn good I wished i didnt order the first one. Also their green tea is authentic af and tastes like the earth.

Whoever wrote the last review was impersonating me with the purpose to hurt me and my work establishment. Shogun is a great job and my manager Nicole is a very kind, patient, and understanding boss. The food here is also delicious and very well made.

The last 3 times Ive been here the food has gotten worse and worse. All 3 times have been different cooks. It seems like theres miscommunication between the waiters and cooks. Because the waiter verifies the order, and the cook makes something else.

Just watched them charge a mother and her 2 kids for all the food they ordered but never got. Wanted to see if they would correct their error bit that did not happen either. To add into this awful experience, our food never arrived.

I love the grill here, especially beef and shrimp grill. Chicken grill is pretty good too. The food here is delicious, fresh and low sodium. They have many types of sushi here. The fish they use is very fresh.

Sushi bar is small enough to be personable and the service is superior. Every time I go to the location on 242, I get free samples of food and a handshake from the manager. Theyll make sure you leave happy!

Weve eaten at this & other locations and have always found both the food & the service to be exemplary each time. We prefer Shogun to the Benihana in the area and always dine at the hibachi.

its a wannabe BeniHana for the same price. Food was blasted with too much oil to make the show seem more exciting, but it killed the flavor. My son (4 yrs) threw up afterwards.

Their food is average, their service is terrible. They dont know the first thing about running a restaurant. Very bad atmosphere. Waiters have no experience in this business.

I am really wondering about this place. Its supposed to be a JAPANESE restaurant, but they have a CHINESE flag here... Last I checked, they were different cultures...

Aside the fact that there was a huge roach by our table, the drinks were not properly made. The food was just ok. The cook was cool but one visit was enough.

This place smelled and the food made me sick. The prices on their website are wrong as the price is at least $2 or more per item. Stay away
