*** New post from August 2016: They seem to maybe have gotten their act together. We went on Sunday evening; we spent about 5-10 minutes standing in line, but once we ordered we had our food in 13 minutes. The food was normal Pei Wei food (=yummy). ** Original post from June 2016: Ive been to this particular location twice in the past month; after last night, I wont return for awhile, giving them a chance to fix their time (service?) issue. The last time I went, we ate there. It took at least 20 minutes to get our food, even though the restaurant had about 4 other, small families (less than four people) there. After one of my party ordered a sushi roll and we sat down, a manager (I assume thats who he was) came over and told us they were out of an ingredient for the sushi. He offered us something else, and when we said we didnt want that, he offered a refund. Few carry out patrons came in. Someone I was dining with has lived here longer, and stated thats normal for this location. Last night was the clincher that I wont come back until they fix their time/service problem. I got an email that Pei Wei would give me 100 extra points for ordering a wok style meal with quinoa. I ordered it online at 2:04 pm. I came to the restaurant early, paying at 5:42. I left the restaurant with my food at about 6:30. Before I left with my food, I at least twice watched someone else come in, order, and get their food before I did. I was reading my book and trying to be understanding because they had orders coming in constantly, with two guys staffing the front area. I asked where my food was at about 6:15. I heard one of the guys get my order together, then tell the kitchen that one (of my 2) entrees still needed to be cooked. Then, when my food was "ready" to be bagged at about 6:20, I was told there was no quinoa, so I was asked what else I would like in its place. I told him, and my full order was ready about 10 minutes later. The front staff was understanding, with the guy who gave me my food saying "that couldve taken less time, Im sorry." Because they were so busy, I didnt think it would have been helpful for me to ask to speak with the manager. If Im going to take the time to complain, I want to be heard. Instead, I got online and told them what happened, mostly that it seemed like they were simply understaffed. I got a response the next day apologizing that my experience wasnt great, and that orders are fulfilled in the order they are placed. Next time, I should introduce myself to the manager so they can apologize in person. While I understand that restaurants get busy, etc - this was at 6pm, after I had placed an online order 4 hours before. With the other things going on that I listed above, combined with my previous experience and word of mouth, its not worth my time to go back. China Springs in Indian Springs plaza is delicious and has always been very timely in my experience.

Geez I LOVE Pei Wei and this location is shaming the Pei Wei name. I took my boyfriend in here for his first Pei Wei experience and it was HORRIBLE. The blonde haired girl working the front was lost, and didnt care to be found mentally. (or physically most of the time). Our food was wrong, we were charged for something we didnt order on top of our food we did request. We were there 1 hour before getting ONE plate, then another 20 min before getting the other plate. There were MANY gnats flying around the oranges at the drink area and our table. I asked a question about my reward points and the girl could not answer said she would get a manager then never came back. Some cook came and took the wrong plate of food from us and took my receipt then left for the day and I never got my receipt, my reward points, or my boyfriends money back for being over charged. The location on Jones is AMAZING- I guess i was spoiled there.... this one geeez I am just dumbfounded by how much they did not care or how unhelpful they were. I asked for napkins and straws as soon as we got there because they were out, and she finally filled those areas about 10 minutes before we left. This location did not seem to be very clean, and the food was cooked to long and dried out.

What happened to this Pei Wei location? Ive never cared to write a review for a food chain, but there isnt a Pei Wei on every corner and I would like to see this place get turned around. We waited nearly an hour at a sticky table with trash underneath it for two kids bowls and an order of PeiWei Spicy chicken. I noticed lots of people going up to the counter to complain about orders or inquire about their meals that never arrived. The floors were dirty as well as the restrooms- theyre chronically out of forks, one soda machine was down and the other had about 1/3 or less of its usual selections- (To be fair - I do encounter this often with the flavorless "freestyle" soda machines and am of the opinion that they should be destroyed). Seriously, McDonalds has superior soda than most, but I wont delve into that any further. Anyways, two hours later wasnt exactly like a certain scene from "Bridesmides", but lets just say that the food didnt sit well with anyone. Sidenote- the wife says that the womens restroom was especially disgusting.

We had an awful experience on our recent takeout. First we ordered a kids chicken teriyaki meal with noodles and all we got was vegetables. We had to call and ask them to make us the correct order and then we had to go all the way back to pick it up. Next, we got the Korean spicy meal and it was so spicy that it was unbearable. We eat spicy foods regularly and none of us could tolerate it. The meals that were prepared correctly were cold and mediocre at best. We also were trying to use a coupon that was emailed to us by pei wei for a free small plate and they told us that we could select any plate so we did (we picked lettuce wraps) and they said that it was invalid. Then we tried to order spring rolls and it also was invalid. Finally, they came back after all that and told us that we could only order one egg roll or three crab wontons. After all of this happened, including driving all the way to the restaurant twice, we did not receive any refund or compensation of any kind and found the staff to be quite rude and unhelpful.

Great chain, but this location is plagued with issues. My two most recent visits ended poorly. The first was a takeout order in which more than half of the food was missing when I got it home so I had to go back to get the issue corrected. The second was another takeout order that was supposed to be ready for pick up at 7 p.m., but I had to wait for 30 additional minutes after arriving to pick it up. There were at least a dozen other people also waiting for food although the restaurant was not busy and was fully staffed. Normally my reviews focus on the quality of food and the variety of choices, and things like that. But in this case, when people are asking for refunds and abandoning the restaurant before their food is ready, there is a systemic problem that needs to be addressed before additional people go there.
