This is hard to do, but the time has come. Dave needs to understand everyone has their flaws, and nobody is perfect. After a horrific experience that left us speechless, we gave it a few months before patronizing his business only to be let down even more. We were there 2 to 3 dates a week! After almost three months we went in hoping things had changed, they hadnt. Dave has changed his entire recipe (due to a change in supplier via Johnny) and his new pizza is a mirage of the quality pizza he used to make! The last couple of times a frozen pizza would have a higher quality then his cheap replacement of what used to be an amazing pizza. His "Philly" which used to be a great alternative to pizza now taste like it sits on a crock pot and comes out more slimy then anything else. Our final straw supports most recent reviews. Our server, a very unfriendly woman with no neck, never checked on us, was horrible on any refill and dropped the check off to us while having a private conversation on the phone and just tossed the check. She never even came back to apologise or offer boxes. Dave good luck with your new location, but after your employee (Joe) stole $1800 dollars from us via stealing our credit card info. & Still supported you for what we thought you were, dont screw us over again! Two years later, at least 100 visits and now two times in a row with food poisoning for our entire family with my wife expecting? These are facts! You know our daughters are almost the same age! Would you honestly do this to your daughter? Like I said, its okay to be proud of your product and accomplishments, but everyone has their flaws, and maybe its time to accept youre not perfect or "hitting it out of the parks these days". We really miss our place, but have felt it necessary to be honest! Obviously we wont be back.

Halftime is under new management, apparently, and has an all-new lunch menu to go with the new management. I came in just after noon today for lunch, and was the fourth customer. The only waitress took my order (sliders and fries) and brought me my soda. My meal (3 small sliders and an order of fries) took about 35 minutes to reach my table. The waitress was friendly enough checking on me and refilling my drink, but never once mentioned the long wait, or offered to check on the food. The food itself was good. The sliders were well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. The menu claimed one slider would be dressed with the chefs homemade BBQ sauce, but I realize now that it wasnt. The fries were nicely done, crispy, but not burnt. The sliders and fries were served in a plastic basket with a paper liner - standard bar food plating. From what I could see, there isnt a seat in the restaurant without a direct line of sight to a tv, including a massive projection screen taking up most of one wall. A few "sporty" knick knacks line the walls, but not much else in terms of decor. Halftime has 4 beers on tap, two light beers, an ultra light, and Blue Moon. I noticed about a dozen bottled beers, the most "exotic" being Guinness and Dos Equis. They have a full bar, however, and appeared to have a few specialty drinks available. This seems like it would be a nice place to watch a game or two, drink light beer, and have some wings, or other sportsy food. As of right now, I cant recommend it for anything else. I want to come back and try Halftime for dinner, and to catch a game or two. I hope that service and meal times can improve by then.

We have been to Halftime about a dozen times and we like the fact we can support a locally owned restaurant that has such decent food at a good price. The "whole enchilada" pizza is unexpected but amazing and the pizza rolls, a happy hour staple, are delicious. The more traditional combo pizza, the "Home Run, Baby!" is topped with fresh veggies, pepperoni, and what I believe is fresh Italian sausage. The lasagna is decent (and huge!) with lots of meat and just right amount of cheese. I am not a fan of the meatball sub...there was something off about it to my palate. But, just about everything else on the menu is very good for a local pizza pub using house-developed recipes. The one thing they struggle with is kitchen operations; it is inconsistent and on one occasion flat-out amateurish. There were three times we went there and were served two of three entrees before my wife got her calzone anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes later. "It had to cook longer" was the reason we got. One time, it came out so overcooked that we had to send it back to be remade. We just took that one to go as everyone else had finished their meal and my wife just wanted to leave. This timing gap has improved, so we can let bygones be bygones. What Halftime lacks in kitchen timing is made up for in the rest of the operation. The past few visits have improved as the staff gains experience, so we will continue to go there even though it is out of our way. They just opened a second location, so we may try that one out next time we go out for pizza.

I really want to like this place, I really do because their pizza rolls are so damn delicious. However, their customer service is so horrendous I just cant give them more than two stars. Service and wait staff are a huge part of a restaurant ambiance and experience that they create and this restaurant clearly needs to train their employees better or hire people who actually give a flip about their customers. Ive been here three times, all 3 for the pizza rolls, but even putting Halftime on my list of dining possibilities when choosing a place to eat is hard because of the horrible service Ive always gotten. Today was no different. Waited at least five minutes after sitting at a table before someone came to take a drink order, ordered a dinner salad to start and a small order of pizza rolls for my dinner, I had to ask for the salad twice after my pizza rolls had already come out and then they brought me a Caesar salad and had to take it back and get me the correct one. By that time I had already eaten more than half of my entrée and the salad was supposed to be my appetizer. Waited at least another five minutes to get an extra side of ranch and then even longer than that to have my check run. Another server who passed by my table actually took my card to run it after Id been sitting there for nearly 10 minutes. As good as the pizza rolls are, I just dont think I can come back. Stopped by for a quick dinner during my work hours and Ive been here 55 minutes.
