We walked in and there was very limited seating.. We found a table in the far corner and seated ourselves. The waitress serving the tables to my left ignored us as if we didnt exist. A waitress serving the tables behind me, also ignored us. We waited 35 minutes, clients came and went. I finally went to the cashier and let her know that we were waiting. She told me that she would assign some one to tend to us.When the waitress finally came, she came with an obvious attitude, like she was put out of her way. She was polite and took our order. The food was OK and the tab reasonable. However the ambient was rather dingy. Considering that there are hundreds of nice Tex-Mex restaurants in SA why would anybody want to eat here? Total time 1 hour 45 min. for a quick breakfast. This was my first and last visit.

We visit often my sister loves the carne guisada n tortillas...i was very disappointed on my Birthday last week 12/9 we ordered a chicharon taco they served me a large piece of pork skin did not have any flavor it was watered down flavor...today i ordered Beef fajita they gave me old pieces of steak cut up no flavor, old and hard to chew.i asked the waiter is this even fajita? He grinned n said yes...i then told him no its not this is a piece of meat cut up..my mother ordered asada not good stiff n no flavor also hard to chew n swallow...we then told thelady at the register she looked at us with a blank face said nothing..so my sister said Hello did you hear me ..im just letting you know so you know ppl do notice and realize you are serving old meat that is not even asada nor Fajita.

We enjoyed a delicious and efficient weekday lunch; places like this are my primary motivation for exercise!! The portions were generous (drinks came in quart cups), and the food was great. I tested the waters with a horchata and the traditional cheese enchiladas (with rice and beans). I also got a side of guacamole. My dining partner got the Rafas Special, which would probably feed three people. I sampled the carne guisada, which was perfect. I ate almost every bite of my meal - I took home the two beautiful flour tortillas for later. The atmosphere is a bit like a night club in that theres fast music blasting in the kitchen; the wait staff wear colorful eye makeup and are no nonsense. The regulars know to get their drink in a styrofoam cup.

There service was horrible. We got there and it took them about 20 minutes to get our drinks and our order. We finally ordered and then other people started getting there and sat down they ordered right when they got there got there drinks before us and they had ordered plates and we ordered tacos 10 minutes pass by everybody got there food and we were still waiting for ours. another 10mind passed by we asked them where our food was and there answer was I dont know where its at. Our waitress was horrible they were rude they werent even that busy and after almost an hour of waiting we decided to leave because we still hadnt got our drinks or our food and it was just retarded.

Love the food, great quality. The customer service is what will stop me from going at all cost even from ordering to go. Its almost always packed you have to almost hunt down someone to get your name down and then the waiter doesnt pay proper attention as needed. Every time I order to go the lady at the counter, seems to be the same one is so rude. My husband once asked for sugar because the didnt have sweet tea(only un-sweet) and she rolled her eyes at him.

You dont find many places like this anymore, places that capture the taste of Mexican food and the atmosphere. The only down side would be the wait but after the quality of the food and the price I wasnt complaining. I saw a review saying that the service was bad, but when I went...I got nothing but the best service and great advise on selecting what to eat. One of my favorite places to eat at.

The lady at register needs to have more friendly customer service .she always has a mad look on her face. I belive if you are at a place that requires customer service please give them a smile or hello. I work at customer service for 15yrs plus and my employees know thats the most important thing to me is a great and a smile. You can make a difference in someone moods..

Called in an order for 6 tacos. Arrived 15 minutes later and they lost the order. I re-ordered and waited. 30 minutes later they told me they actually didnt lose the order, then told me they forgot to charge for the 6th taco. I paid again, got home, and only had 5. Spare yourself, drive 1 mile east, and go to Finas Kitchen. Much better!

What a great find! A busy little hole-in-the-wall place with the best Chiliquiles Ive ever had. My friend says he cant wait to come back for the Carne Guisada again. An award on the wall says theyve got the best chalupas which Im sure is true after this experience. My new favorite Mexican food restaurant!

Great food, chilaquilles are the best. Staff is always friendly, except for cash register Nazi!!! Maybe a class on being nice, friendly, polite? Or even learning to say hi when you tell her hi? Why put someone like her to bring down your experience? Also the parking lot needs major repairs!

The gorditas looked fried. The picadillo in the gorditas was good. I am no so sure about the yellow shredded cheese on top. I asked for an agua fresca not powder lemonade. Reason why I am not giving them one more star. The service is decent. The place can use more parking spaces.

I first went to El Rafas over 10 years ago. It was a bit smaller back then. Its amazing that most of the waitstaff is long term. That says a lot about the owner, Robert. He is a kind man that cares about quality and service. If you want the best Carne guisada, come here.

tried the menudo it smelt and tasted dirty tortillas are great but they dont fill up the taco when you order wont be back ive tried to give tgis place a repeated try but just cant sorry rafad THUMBS DOOWWWN!!

One of my favorite Mexican food places. Can get busy on weekend, especially with the after church crowd. My favorite salsa and tortillas in town. Order the rafas special: great selection and big portions.

They took forever and they sell the Chips and salsa for 1. 25 $ more . horrible service . the tables are really dirty too . they didnt even give me a straw till we were finished eating , what even .
