WOW, on Saturday June 12th, 2010, we had our our annual "Tiaras and Boas" with fellow readers, daughters, friends, and special guests! Attired in our best tiaras, outrageous boas we had FUN FUN FUN! Heres a recap of our annual Boas & Tiaras Tea held on June 12th at the Chocolate Angel. Its DFW Tea Readers Groups annual summer gathering. The DFW Tea has been going strong since October 1995 and we initially started the dress-up boas and tiaras when our youngest members were going off to college in July 2002. We had so much fun weve been doing one each summer since. In the past years weve invited authors to join us as well as friends and family who may not be "big" or even readers at all. We seem to be able to convert them with our fun and festivities. What scamps we are! This year we held our high tea at the Chocolate Angel Tea Room and Bakery. They serve a delicious tea with fruit cup, tea sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and jams, quiche and puffed filled pastries followed by dessert sampler course with two types of chocolate, plus cookies and mini-cakes. All accompanied with two types of freshly brewed tea, and of course, champagne. So we fulfill our mission: tea, chocolates and champagne! Joining us were authors Dakota Cassidy, Michele Bardsley, Jaye Wells, Rosemary Clement-Moore, Claire Avery (sister duo of Mari and Michelle) and Kimberly Frost who drove all the way from Houston! A three plus hour drive! And we kept tabs on Micheles daughter who was giving birth to Micheles first grandchild in Tampa during the tea. Alas, the baby boy hadnt quite arrived by the time the tea was over, but we know his name! (Even if her daughter doesnt agree!) We also had many many baskets and gifts sent to us from authors who couldnt join us for the tea. Each attendee went home with at least a pile of books, in fact, we had to scramble for bags and boxes for some! We completely filled the private room so well need to seek an even larger accommodation for 2011!

I have never dined at The Chocolate Angel. I have placed 3 orders for pick up. The first 2 orders were for vegetable & fruit trays which were very, very nicely done. The third order was for a "custom" cake and thumb print cookies for a Celebration of Life for a dear friend. I provided Melissa with a photo with the colors and image we wanted on the cake. The finished product was STUNNING!!! It felt as though so much Love and Care went into the beautiful and intricate design of the cake that represented our Belived. Words cannot express the deep gratitude the friends and family felt when they saw the beautiful cake AND when they tasted the cake!!! I always walk into the restaurant to place my order toward the end of the afternoon because I know they are crazy busy at peak lunch time hours. While Melissa seems rushed and not so warm at times, believe me... she and her team delivered a gorgeous cake and thumb print exceeded our expectations and warmed our hearts and souls. Melissa, Thank You from the bottom of our hearts.

This was the worst service I have ever had. My friend and I first enter in the wrong door- the one under the sign. Fine. We go into the correct door of the general dining area. There is no hostess stand, no one greets us, and we wait. We finally decide maybe we are supposed to sit ourselves, so we do. Again, we wait. Then a woman comes and asks us if we have reservations- we do not. She tells us in a very rude voice that we cannot sit there and we have to move. The dining area is half empty. So we move, still wait to be served, and finally get some drinks. I have never been so mortified in a restaurant, and have never been treated so poorly. Ridiculous, will never go back, and will tell all of my friends NOT to go there.

My go to tea-room in Dallas-Richardson, TX. Menu is outstanding...I go back and forth between the Gold Star plate (which is not mention this way on menu but is the classic trio of chicken salad, broccoli-raisin salad and strawberry Jello salad with a pretzel base and whipped cream topping) and my other favorite Some Like it Hot grilled pimento cheese sandwich( with pecans, candied jalapenos and strawberry jam...thats right...strawberry jam). All the girls from young to old love it and men do too!

I received a sandwich sampler. It was delicious! I did not eat the bread of the chicken sandwich, cranberries are terrible. The sauce itself was gross too, but I could have everything else. The chocolate (cake) pie was the best chocolate dessert I have ever eaten. In my life. I couldnt eat much previously because I have candida. But the sandwiches were just fine (no healthier than normal bread).

This place deserves no stars. They came off to be very racist and very unwilling to assist me when I came into their Cafe on two separate occasions. Do not go to this place. Its supposed to be a nice cafe in a ragged area. 0 stars!!!! This place sucks.

I love this place. Their food is always wonderful and the service is great. I highly recommend the tea room, especially since the Plano location closed for now. Its too noisy to have a conversation otherwise. Of course, desert is fabulous!!!!

We just enjoyed a scrumptious delayed Mothers Day lunch. Everything was absolutely delicious. The hostess and wait staff were all accommodating, but our server Erica was especially cheery and friendly. I cant wait to go back!

Get the pimento cheese sandwich. Trust me. They do lose one star for never being able to reach them and place a to go order, but the food is worth waiting for (sorry, never eaten there and always gotten it to go).

This is a nice place for a ladies lunch. Service can be a little spotty as they are always very busy, but the food is excellent and the staff friendly and professional.
